I did get over it, but if you want to derail this thread into some shit, then come on, let's derail this and start talking shit to one another. I've got nothing better to do for the next hour.

Just try to keep it civil. He's likely complaining about your complaint because everytime a 3.75 inch Marvel item is revealed, there's always SOMEBODY complaining that it isn't 6 inch...Even though 6 inch gets pretty much everything else.

And before you talk about how 3.75 inch was everywhere a few years ago, I shall point out that it's even worse with the 6 inch craze. Legit, just count how many 6 inch lines came with Batman v. Superman, and it kinda gives some perspective.

Which I hope this comment also gave you some of.

Dr Kain 06-18-2017 10:36 PM

The only reason I mentioned it as being 4 inches is because the article I saw the other day said it was 6inches.

Free advertising, can also be awesome for Hasbro, in utilizing these popular comic covers. All Hasbro needs is to continue their winning Toybiz streak into the single 3.75" figure line. This comic cover with Hulkbuster Spider Woman is my personal favorite. She can easily be made with Maestro's bucks and new armor.

Really? Weird. I mean, granted, people were unsure before Hasbro did that Hangout with some people and confirmed the scale, but someone straight up said it was 6 inch?

Though I suppose that would be a logical assumption, given how Hasbro has 6 inch as its golden scale right now(personally, I think some legal stuff is the only thing keeping the scale smaller).

Kernel 06-18-2017 11:33 PM

@ superjoe agreed. They have a ton of great, more articulated bucks that I wish they would use more often, including that maestro buck. I'm hoping that megaman is well articulated.

Post your disappointment all you want. Not my intent to derail this thread at all, sorry you took it that way. Let's not take this stuff so seriously. I just think it's odd every time we get a 3.75" reveal from hasbro, which trust me is not often, we have to deal with the "it should be 6" not 3.75" comments. I get it you collect 6", just try not to let it bother you too much that they are repacking an iron man figure from like a decade ago.

Ok fair enough, but that article was not correct and you were wrong thinking it was 6 inches... (Insert "that's what she said" joke here).

It's probably actually just Hasbro's way of being cheaper about it. Smaller scale means less plastic and less cost so it's easier to make their money back. These 4" two packs are only $20 while a 6" two pack would be $40 and since from the look of the roster every Marvel character would just likely be a repaint Hasbro may have looked at it as easier to sell in the smaller scale.

These are great for those that want them. But looks like it'll a total pass for me.

VashTS 06-20-2017 10:34 AM

Official photos means poo. Still a scale near no one collects any more.

Was excited but i think this line will not succeed due to scale.

Exodus 06-20-2017 10:54 AM

This may peg warm :P I'll see what other ones they're releasing in this line before jumping into it.

Plenty of people still want the 4" scale. Sorry this single repack bothers you! ^_^

Ah yes, no one collects 3 3/4 inch Marvel anymore.

Which is why the appreciation thread for 3 3/4 inch has 15 more pages over the 6 inch thread, even though it has had far less releases over the past few years than the 6 inchers.

And they both started on the exact same day, btw.

I'll add to the negativity but on the actual subject of the toys.

Hoo-boy, these do not look that good in the official photos. I'm disappointed to see Iron Man is an OLD sculpt, not just a reuse, but super old. Would have loved to see the one the game suit is based on get reused. And Mega Man's face looks off, and the skin tone is too pink. So amusingly, I will recant. I just don't see myself buying this now, unless Mega Man blows me away in person.

Give me a GREAT Strider and I'll get that though.

Jay West 06-20-2017 05:36 PM

If there is a second set it will likely be Ryu and Carol - two more I could care less about.

bigkid24 06-20-2017 05:43 PM

It would have been nice to see a paint scheme on Iron Man that matches the box art. I get that these were done on the cheap if they use an old mold how about better paint? And that Megaman is horrible. I understand they wanted popular figures and ones from the trailer but I've gotten better toys out of a box of Japanese candy. His face is too big compared to the box art.

The thing that's weird to me is we HAVE a figure of that MvC Iron Man suit already. It came in those TRU two-packs. So to get a reuse of the original 3.75" movie Iron Man is just silly.

It's not just the size (which I think isn't too bad), but the face itself; what hasbro have done to him?! It's look like anime face for beginners, the "giant" weird nose and derpy eyes..ughh. In addition the body is too bulky.

What's with that stupid scale war?! When I was a kid I had toys from each scale (12 inch Barbie and Action Man, 6 inch X-Man action figures and 3.35 inch SW Padme). The only reason to be scale nazi is to have toys compatible with playsets and vehicles which Hasbro makes NONE nowdays.

Eh, true enough, though most people DO have a scale where they feel more ensured of quality. Sure, 3 3/4 inch has a lot of articulation problems that arise, but for me, they feel more solid in my hand than the few 6 inch figures I grabbed before giving up. I'm sure 6 inch collectors have similar reasoning, and they're perfectly entitled to those preferences, but I do seem to find them becoming...Oddly greedy. Like, it's not enough that they have a dozen lines in their preferred scale, whereas we are very lucky to get one, but they feel that they need to rob us of what little we have, and it's annoying.

It's like if a person stuck in the desert for days encountered someone who had only been there for an hour, and the second guy was wanting the first dude's water despite still being perfectly hydrated.

I think it might be because in the past couple of years, there's been a bit of an explosion of the scale, in terms of the number of properties being represented in the scale, and the number of companies producing figures in the scale. It's created somewhat of a feeling(/realization?) that if [insert unexpected thing getting a figure in 6-inch scale] can get a figure, maybe everything can get a figure. So collectors of the scale have more of a pressing sense of wanting to get everything in the scale, and in many cases, getting multiple versions by multiple different companies, to compare and contrast their different takes on the source material. So, when they see a figure that looks cool, they hope it's 6 inch to fulfill that urge to see every possible character represented in every possible way, and when they see it's not their scale, they're disappointed. I'd imagine that if 3.75-inch scale were in a similar situation, some of its collectors would be exhibiting the same behavior.

That's just my theory, though. I'm not even sure I worded it well enough to get across my exact thoughts on it, but there it is.

goliathfasa 06-21-2017 02:35 AM

Wait... what's with the face on that Megaman?

It's like a 12 year old American kid saw anime once and tried to draw those "big crazy anime eyes".

Dafuq.

Scale in general have nothing to do with quailty, especially when the differnce aren't so big. All American toys have been constantly deteriorating in quailty since 2012, no longer the heavy thick plastic with good finish we used to have as a kids; my 12 inch Action man is sturider then any ML! The only case of differnce I know is the titanmaster toys are way better then deluxe TF, they're too tiny to have hollow plastic:).

Yeah, I said something samilar too..I guess they're too used for the same one boring style for all of their toys.

I don't have a problem with the "aww man I wish this was in my scale" because I'm sure I've done it a few times in non-3.75" announcements. In a perfect world every collector would get what they want. The problem I have is that every single 3.75"/4" announcement seems to have users disparage the scale and its supporters. I don't think I've seen that sort of behavior in any other figure scale's announcement toward the scale in the thread.
