I don't actually have very many legends, money/choices, but this has to be the greatest toy series ever created.... It's at the point where I have to research these people to know more about greatness. The sculpting, the paints, the colors, the executions, the consistency to deliver great products over an extremely long period of time....whoever is in charge is like Micheal Jordan or Phil Jackson. Too perfect. They make it look too easy. I'm in awe. |
FINALLY!! An updated Dr. Doom!!

The Wolverine from the 3-pack reminds me of one of my favorite ToyBiz X-Men figures: Battle Ravaged Wolverine.
I do kinda wish Hasbro would've gone all out on the battle damage instead of just making it look like Wolverine's head was the only thing that was attacked and damaged. Could have at least included the ripped up pauldrons that the 12" figure had. Would've loved a neutral expression masked head as well, but other than that I friggin LOVE this set. Happy they finally gave Cyclops an alternate left hand, because he didn't need the visor-button pressing hand since this costume's visor is activated by devices by a button in his palms, not the visor itself. |

Cyclops in the during 90's, including the Animated Series, and the Children of the Atom game, he used a palm activated optic blast. Even in the intro for the AS Cyke is seen blasting robots in the Danger Room with both fists clenched. Here's a montage from the AS and you can see he hardly ever has to touch his visor to fire the blasts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QQUAtpZkX4 I think it was a design decision from Jim Lee. The palm activated device leads to much more dynamic poses for the character because he didn't have to have his fingers to his temples in order to activate his powers. I think when he did have to interact with the visor with his hands during this era, it was to focus the beams in a more concentrated area, to make them stronger/wider, or so he could activate the built-in HUD. |
I really enjoyed that montage of Cyclops blasting fools.
