Kind of disappointed in that since he goes without the mask for much of the film. If they got the likeness rights I'm sure we'd be seeing an alternate unmasked head on display with him too. :(

It'll be included with the Ultimate Casey figure five years from now. ;)

Neca employee Peter de Leon confirmed the following:
- Ultimate Doc Brown is coming
- 8” scale Bruce the Shark is coming
- there will be NO Godzilla vs Kong figures... period
- they do not need likeness for Toony Terrors so it isn’t indicative of a regular release will be coming if likeness is an issue

Black Arbor 02-22-2020 07:01 PM

Alright NECA, you've had half a day. Now where's my Marty Mcfly from BTTF III with softgoods poncho???

Meta 02-22-2020 07:23 PM

Would be so cool if they do a DeLorean to go with the Marty figure and the Ultimate Doc figure. I will definitely get those BTTF animated figures except Biff he looks goofy and I will get that animated DeLorean too.

That shark's going to be, like, 3 feet long.

Edit: Should have included a "You're gonna need a bigger shelf" quote. :p

EvilMonkeyPope 02-22-2020 08:17 PM

Will The Phantom include pistols & alt hands for them?

Notable takeaways from the Pixel Dan interview with Randy

Back to the Future:
-“Come San Diego there will be a lot more”

TMNT:
-Raph and Casey are production pieces, May-June release, Walmart exclusive
-Two packs of turtles will be at Walmart
-more coming from 1990 movie
-not looking at 3rd film
-every 4-6 weeks something new until Christmas, at least 6 two packs plus super shredder
-Target ultimates will have vhs inspired packaging
-many more figures “done”
-figures will be in Walmart’s inventory in real time, full online functionality

Gremlins:
-accessory set with cocoon, fabric goods, additional accessories
-sdcc exclusive figure and a target exclusive figure

Halloween:
-Halloween Kills figures will be made

Predator:
-every lost tribe member will have a masked and unmasked head
-release every 6 weeks

Alien:
-they’ve acquired every actor’s likeness for original film

Fuck yes! If the flashback scenes are accurate in Halloween Kills, that'd be an amazing workaround to getting an OG '78 mask Michael Myers!!!

When is the Back to the Future figures release date? Are they also going to be Walmart exclusive?

JerpJerp 02-22-2020 11:36 PM

yeah, I'll take the boat load....if I can find it at the docks....

Sirth 02-23-2020 12:03 AM

Just when I forgot about my NECA Alien collection, boom, it suddenly got important again after looking at these pics. I'll just hold out for the rest of the Nostromo crew not featured in space suits.

Defenders of the Earth? Super nostalgic and the figures alone look stunning.

No, it's the opposite. I wouldn’t like these as much if they looked as simple and cartoonish as their Turtles or the Back to the Future cartoon figures.

I like them better with the added details.

The cards say 3rd quarter of the year but delays with NECA aren't uncommon. There's no reason to suspect that those will be Walmart exclusive.

MandrakeDOE 02-23-2020 10:48 AM

It happens as soon as you say or read the words "Defenders of the Earth". See. . .there it goes again. :) :) :)

Joe Moore 02-23-2020 11:11 AM

For those that want to re-watch Defenders of the Earth, or watch it for the first time, it is streaming on Amazon Prime.

If you don't mind a few ads, PopcronFlix has a few episodes for free as well.

I have to agree, the added detail is a huge selling point for me. It's also a great re-use of the DC/Darkhorse sculpts.

daveysockrocker 11-02-2020 12:54 PM

I wish these were 6 inch scale, I would totally stick that Mandrake into my JSA collection and just say it was Zatara ;p
