there was no new F13 news from the neca con this week also. sucks

just need Part 8 and lil' Jason

I think the easiest way to know if they can do more F13 stuff is if they announce they are releasing that 8-bit Toony Terrors Jason they were forced to cancel. Until then, I'm assuming the lawsuit still has everything tied up.

Yeah, no. They've got the Gargoyles license, they're not going anywhere.

Also, if you want to see a toy company going down the drain, check out Mattel.

modernlove101 07-22-2021 06:38 PM

New Blood isn't my favorite F13 but this is my favorite Jason Voorhees design. I just need NECA to release the damn thing already! I hope August/September is the last push back but I'm sure it won't be...

Next month, or the month after. If we're lucky.

On what planet does anyone - except maybe people who grew up in the 80's - give a shit about Gargoyles? I'm not saying that NECA is going anywhere, but fucking Gargoyles isn't the license to make or break a company.

That's like saying "Boss Fight has got the Popeye license, they're not going anywhere."

They have WWE and MOTU. I think they're going to be okay.

Anyone that knows what a damn good cartoon is with the greatest story telling in the history or children's programming. There's a reason the show still airs on Disney's station in edited form.

Raine24 07-22-2021 10:12 PM

Breaking Bad was pretty great, too, but how did their toys do?

Not a fair comparison, I know, but quality and reverence doesn't always translate into successful sales. LoTR made about 3 billion dollars yet people genuinely don't know if a company will ever get a full Fellowship out again

Honestly, I've never seen it. Maybe I should?

Edited? For what?

I sure got my full fellowship out again. Heh-heh.

Violence. There is an episode where one of the gargoyles is playing with their cop friend's gun and he accidentally shoots her. There is a pool a blood around her, which has been digitally edited out of the versions that are on Disney+. The episode itself, which won many awards in the 90s for teaching children about gun safety, is no longer allowed to be aired on TV due to its gun related content.

There's also an episode where one of the villains turns people to stone and starts smashing them to pieces. From what I recall reading, they also edited some of that down too.

Thankfully, the DVDs are fully uncut.

On vacation with the girlfriend visiting her parents in Wisconsin, and look what I just found right now in Walmart:

NECA seems to be using the digital printing for the mask now as well. It looks really good.

Fuck, Walmarts out here so much better stocked than they are back in New York where I live. I always make good hauls when I visit Wisconsin.

Dr Kain 08-24-2021 03:32 PM

Yet to see him at my stores.

It was the Walmart in Platteville. Hope you don't consider that your turf. :)

Here's a few early close-up shots of the figure itself, sans weapons:

Wow! That’s a terrific looking figure. Looks perfect in many ways. The mask side profile shot is dead on. I think the old neca part 7 had a more authentic face. Here’s hoping to finally get Part 1, 8, and JHTH. Damn, part 8 we’ve only been waiting for over 32 years…..

Nah. That's a couple hours south of me. You're safe.

Whew! Although on our way to the airport tomorrow we might stop at the Walmart in Madison. I take no responsibility for what may happen there if they have more New Blood figures. :)

Madison is even further from me, so no worries there. But…my brother lives in Madison and I have friends in the Janesville area (just south of there) that have no luck at all. From Madison to the Illinois border it's picked bone dry by one dickhead and his cronies that do nothing everyday but hang out at every Walmart and Target in a 100 mile radius. So I wish you the best of luck and hope you can grab something before they get their stinky paws on it. And if you see any of those scumbags lurking about, set them on fire. Thanks!

Dolemite 08-25-2021 05:50 PM

I think every region has a few assholes like that.

scarrviper 08-25-2021 07:50 PM

There's been no sign of him at my local Walmart. I spoke to a fellow collector yesterday at Target and he's had no luck either and he has checked 4 Walmarts. I might be be waiting until Jason shows up at Target in a month or two hopefully.

The Walmarts I've been to lately are always picked clean of Neca figures, usually there's only a handful scattered on the pegs or the shelf. It sucks. Either some jerk keeps buying everything up every week or there's only one or two figures getting stocked at a time. Makes no sense.

As for this Jason, he looks amazing. Might be the best ultimate Jason yet.

I HAD to pose him with the tree-trimmer. I just had to.
https://www.toyark.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1630089276

In case you were curious, here's the alternate head with the broken-open mask. There's a little peg on the strap that plugs into a hole on the back of Jason's head to keep it in place.

scarrviper 08-30-2021 02:25 PM

Still no sign of Jason at walmart, instead they had a whole endcap stuffed with the video game xenomorph repaints and super shredders .
