^^I'd prefer Red Shift, Stardust, Morg, the Fallen One, the Destroyer, Alpha Ray, Tyrant, Anti-Man, and even Aunt May as obscure Heralds before that Supes! lol

NOT Aunt May! They need to do a box set of her in all the superhero getups. You know you’d buy a set Auntie Freeze and Ant-Aunt sight unseen.

I guess you’re right. I wonder why they pushed this to 14,000. I’m forgetting the first tier of the Sentinel was 6k.

Comedian 07-17-2021 07:03 PM

Once it hits 10,000 the “FOMO” will kick in. I have no idea where this is going to go, but I also don’t no where the sentinel, razor-crest or thunder tank are going and that didn’t stop me.

Archangel 07-17-2021 08:26 PM

No issue on the price, seems pretty spot on.

I’m guessing since they blew the Sentinel numbers out of the water, the higher ups at Hasbro wanted to push their marketing and sales teams. Call it corporate greed, or the cost of doing business. I’m sure they just looked at the Sentinel’s performance and justified the goals they rolled out to their teams. I have to deal with that all the time at work. Kill your sales goals this year and pay for it with raised expectations the next, AOP baby.

Augustus10 07-17-2021 08:36 PM

I wish they had made him even bigger like 48in so he would even tower over the sentinels. This should be the mount Everest in your Marvel Legends display. Other than that, no complaints. I love it.

Pretty much. During the five years I worked at a local Best Buy, from 2007-2009 we were the highest performing store in the state all year long. Then shit happened in 2010, we lost business and were knocked into third place, and suddenly became the laughing stock of the state. Like there was one manager at another store who said, "Oh my god, you work at THAT store? I'm so sorry." It's like three years straight of kicking their ass meant nothing.

I remember having the Toybiz Galactus. Think it was from the Fantastic Four cartoon or something… as a kid. This is really impressive, overall. I get nervous with toys this big, because they tend to have a harder time withstanding the effects of age on plastic. I remember my USS Flagg splitting down the middle and falling apart.

Hopefully these and the sentinels get some type of mass release down the road.

If going by the aftermarket of the Sentinels, you can just buy 2 to pay for your 1.

The barge was the first one and people didn't know what to expect, I honestly think if they launched that now they'd hit the mark in the first day.

This thread was massively derailed and I've deleted a number of posts and removed some people from the thread. Keep the posts on topic.

Just to put it in perspective. Sideshows upcoming Galactus statue is 26 inches tall at 855 bucks.

I think outside 6 inch figures, how about a base. Raising a leg up would be nice on a partially devoured world.

Maybe even Power Cosmic energy effects to wrap the hands in.

The following may not be the usual 6 inch toy. Yet because it's more of a fun type of toy, this 3.75 inch figure can make Galactus more fun to have. And make him look even grander in scale.

I still would have been good with a Jakks Pacific 48 inch roto cast for galactus. I’d love more posing ability and light-up features. I just imagine surfer fitting in the hand of galactus. Now that said, I’m more than happy with what we are offered.

I would love a Galactus at a cheaper price point. Heck I’d even take a low articulated vinyl as he doesn’t need to strike many dynamic poses in my collection

AceSimulacrum 07-19-2021 04:07 PM

Pretty nice but I'll just watch from the sidelines. Loved the Surfer and everything related (definitely one my top 5 Marvel Comic series for me) to Cosmic Marvel stuff. I'm not pulling the trigger cause I havent been pleased with Marvel Legends overall (whittled down over the years) especially any of the hearlds. But happy for the ML collectors getting a very big showpiece to go with their Fantastic 4 and rest of their collection.

Yes, and that's before the thing has actually come out. Those prices will still increase.

Comedian 07-22-2021 10:53 AM

Oh wow….knew the heralds would be coming. Yup totally jumping in now.

dukefett 07-22-2021 10:55 AM

They're clowns to include the Silver Surfer as an unlock. Some others? Sure, but it's a joke to include him.

TheBlueMarvel 07-22-2021 11:08 AM

Lol @ "clowns."

emeraldnite 07-22-2021 11:16 AM

FINALLY, FRANKIE RAYE NOVA! That had better be the first bonus and NOT after Silver Surfer. Also that Silver Surfer better have a spiffy paint job--I personally wouldn't mind a version that is more cel-shaded to look like classic Kirby art, OR chrome to be as reflective as Alex Ross' art.

TheBlueMarvel 07-22-2021 11:19 AM

I'm hoping the two represent the 1st tier. Especially given the inclusion of Norrin. TWO heralds per tier would make up for the retread.

En Sabah Nerd 07-22-2021 12:35 PM

Is Silver Surfer just never going to get a wide release? I got the Walgreens one (the first, not the Fallen one) so it doesn't personally affect me but I still feel bad for anybody who missed it and now the next opportunity to get him is part of a Haslab project.

firmpulse 07-22-2021 02:26 PM

We need a NEW Surfer. Not a repaint of the same old short sculpt. Don't miss this opportunity, Hasbro. Please.

@TheBlueMarvel, I'm a huge Ron Lim fan. Even like how he changed the Surfer's board back in the day. Lim actually created my love for Surfer. And Thanos for that matter. But after reading Silver Surfer Black, Tradd Moore's take on him has become my favorite contemporary iteration of our guy. But I would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE a new Firelord.

TheBlueMarvel 07-22-2021 04:18 PM

@firmpulse

It was a combo of J. Buscema and Byrne that made me a fan of Surfer. Between back issues of the titular 1st book/vol and the character's appearance in both the Defenders and the FF, I became a dedicated fan. However, after volume 3 of the Surfer hit in the late 80's, a book that served as a formal introduction of Norrin to my generation, I was hooked and he became my favorite hero edging out Spider-Man. Not to slight Marshal Rogers, but I was so very happy when Ron Lim joined the book. He captured the majesty and raw might of the power cosmic, while also highlighting Surfer's grace and maneuverability. All that said, you're right to be a fan of Tradd. I haven't enjoyed the look of a Surfer story as much as I did with BLACK since quite possibly the Lim days. Renato Arlem did some cool stuff and I liked Allred's book, but Tradd's art made me excited again to digest a well written Surfer Story. The coloring was off the chain too...

Boogieman4hire 07-22-2021 08:57 PM

Wow. I knew I was in for Galactus, again if I can afford it, but this is icing on the cake. It immediately makes spending all that money even more palpable. Nova rules. While I agree that Silver Surfer needs a good retail release, I also agree with that because I didn't ever find Walgreens Silver Surfer. I even traveled over to Juarez because I heard he was showing up in Sears stores over there but nope, nada. Maybe this one will be on the retro Spiderman body or have a real nice paintjob so that he can ride eternal, shiny and chrome!
