Yeah I think the GI Joe reveals were the biggest highlight of Pulse con. Star Wars reveals were minimal and lackluster as usual, but I was surprised by how little was revealed for Marvel.

Anyone else catch the teaser for the Ghostbusters full size replica proton pack that's going to be yet another Haslab? I'm sure it will be impressive for those who care about prop replicas/cosplaying, but if Hasbro is wanting to do a Ghostbusters Haslab, they totally blew the opportunity to offer an Ecto-1 that can scale with their 6" figures. Since the window of interest will quickly pass after this year once the new movie and toy line have come and gone, I guess we'll never get a 1/12 scale Ecto-1. Mattel's kickstarter for one failed to get funded back in 2013, and Hasbro is passing up the chance to try again. :(

And once again we still don't know where or how we'll get the 6" plasma series Phoebe figure. It was shown off during the GB panel along with a mini Stay Pufts multi-pack for the Plasma series line. I assume there's a 2nd wave planned with these 2 figures and more (Paul Rudd's character, Phoebe's mom, Ivor Shandor??). Probably waiting to reveal all of those until next month to avoid spoilers.

Though light on the ML reveals, given how much gets released per year.
They may have wanted to hold back given all the open preorders.
Though it's that they had the longest segment and had little to really announce.

Personally I think Power Rangers and Gi Joe had strong showings. They showed a physical version of everything ahd it was mostly new stuff.

ML, all tweaked rereleases. Not terrible but not rewarding for collectors who have been at it for a while. Them teasing Vulcan really made no sense.

If they made some of the ghosts from the first two movies or even the 2009 game I'd be so happy :D

Fortunately Mattel did several movie ghosts in their own GB line that are the same scale.

True, all around.

I'd be bummed if Hasbro didn't make the most of the GB license, but not surprised. It's a property with limited mass appeal, and the new movie will likely end up a casualty of the times we live in. Still, given how well Marvel Legends' suit-wearing civilians fare, they might be missing an opportunity if they never offer a Walter Peck. Also, I know the second movie doesn't get a lot of love, but I'd go nuts it if we got a Vigo the Carpathian. Or, as I like to call him, Vigo the Butch. As for Haslab, I'd be all-in for a 1/12 Ecto-1, or a big-ass Stay Puft (with swappable smiling/angry/shocked heads), but have no interest in a life-size proton pack replica.

RodimusZX 10-25-2021 04:45 AM

WOW.
So Bucky gets guns and new ones at that just because it's Hasbro while all Marvel's other licensees aren't allowed to put guns in??? WTF. Nice double standard guys, real stand-up job managing a company!!

Also, so sick of how the female bodies are always designed scrunched up and deformed, especially in the chest region. The men always are ripped as hell with huge deltoids and biceps and pecs, but the women have breast sculpted weird in a small bunch just on the front of the toy. In reality, they should extend out to the sides a bit more, and down a bit more too. I'm not just talking about size, just they look unnatural, and have for a long time now. I just wish even if just for the fan channel "vintage" line they could try a bit harder with the sculpts. It sucks too because on that Scarlet Witch, the box art looks pretty natural and normal and makes the toy look even worse when you're looking at them side-by-side.

DarkEyes 10-25-2021 05:17 AM

The Winter Soldier looks amazing. It is a new mold, isn't it?

Not sure if it is a repaint/remake of the Marvel Legends Captain America and the Winter Soldier version.

I think Marvel figures can still come with guns. It's DC figures that AT&T has nixed all guns in.

Seriously?

None of the McFarlane figures come with guns?

Licensing most likely. The guns that comes with the Winter Soldier seems like generic M4 variant and pistols. In the movie he uses some pretty unique weapons, most notable the Skorpion and Galil. However, even with those weapons they were pretty disposable. He pretty much just shoot them, spent the ammo and then throw them away. So I think using generic weapons is a good way to avoid the licensing fee.

No, Falcon uses twin Steyr SPP.

None of the McFarlane DC figures come with guns, including gun heavy characters like Suicide Squad's Peacemaker and Bloodsport, and it's not just McFarlane, ALL DC figures from any makers are no longer allow to come with guns. McFarlane's own Spawn line figures can come with guns.

IzzyTipsy 10-25-2021 12:35 PM

Apparently it's even crossbows since Huntress is missing hers.

Absolutely ridiculous that AT&T is marketing toys based on "R Rated" properties to kids if they are "thinking of the kiddies".

Just give them "laser guns" or something like Marvel has been doing for Zemo for example, replacing his IRL gun.

I'm not sure that that's the reason. Marauder Gun Runners certainly doesn't seem to have issues producing extremely detailed scale replicas of various real-world firearms, and they have a vastly smaller operating budget than Hasbro by an order of magnitude.

Whatever that rifle is, it's not a generic M4 variant. It looks more like an MPAR 556 with an aftermarket lower receiver and grip.

Hasbro has produced both of those guns for their G.I. Joe figures, however.

Also, although the Galil was fairly widely used by both Hydra henchmen and Batroc's mercenaries in CATWS, the only rifle Bucky wielded in that film, if I recall correctly, was the M4 carbine (with or without M203 grenade launcher) as reproduced by the Hot Toys figure:

You are right, I mis-read the description on IMFDB.org

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games

Everything I know about guns from the movies I learned from IMFDB.org, it's like IMDB, but for GUNS!

Yeap, DC figures have no guns, but if you want weapons in BBTS the other day found some from a line called Action Heroes or search Little Armory in BBTS, there are tons of configurable weapons all in the 1/12 scale... I ordered a couple of DEagles for the new Red Hood...

That's fucking dumb. What are they going to do if they ever do Jonah Hex, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Mirror Master, etc?

For Jonah Hex, you could always use the revolvers that come with Gunslinger Spawn. For the Flash villains, they'll either:
A.) Play up the sci-fi elements of the guns to distance them for actual firearms or
B.) make the New 52 versions of the villains where they had super powers.

hasbroherofan 10-25-2021 05:01 PM

I would imagine the Confederate uniform would be the bigger issue for Jonah...

I'm not sure what you're referencing here. Hot Toys still includes guns with its Marvel figures and the recent classic Taskmaster figure from Marvel Select also had a pistol. SH Figuarts Black Widow and Taskmaster do as well. The Japanese Deadpool figure with the guns removed is the outlier.

Speaking of Spawn, it seems like my Target carries every Spawn figure EXCEPT the regular. They've got Vindicator, Gunslinger Spawn, Raven Spawn, Samurai Spawn, and I think Dark Redeemer, but not just Spawn.

Atm, there isn’t a regular Spawn in the line. Not sure why.

That is dumb, no doubt about it! They'll probably just give them swords, axe and crowbars, just like what they've been doing to all gun related DC characters lately.
