Ok Ok, no need to get angry, I just want to keep things civil. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion i just don't want fights to break out in here, nor do I want posters to attack each other. So going foward, please let's not attack each other. Keep cool and let's discuss. Sound good?

Sounds goood to me and I appericate your calm before the storm attitude. From now on I'll just ignore sly remarks towards me because all I'm trying to do is voice an opinoin that hopefully someone at Hasbro will see. Kudos to you. BTW if I was to buy one of these it would prolly be weapon X b/c I have been dissappointed by recent incarnations of this figure. Will have to wait and see. I would love to see a NECA interpretation of Weapon X. How twisted and sick would that be?

Flint 12-14-2008 03:28 PM

A NECA Weapon X would be Sick. I personally want more Deadpool stuff, so Hasbro, Marvel Select, whoever... GIVE ME MORE!

To me it's all about the new switch to 3 3/4 size class. Are these figure perfect for the first rounds, not at all, however Hasbro does listen to its fan base. Take G.I. Joe for the best example, at the start people gave ideas on how to improve the design, character versions and what the collector wanted overall out of the line. For the most part Hasbro has done nothing but improve over time with the G.I. Joe line. I would expect the same if not more from the Marvel Team. Nobody wants to put out figures that are not on-point.

The 6" line can be discussed in other dedicated thread. Turning this thread into a 3-3/4" vs 6" slugfest deviates from the topic off hand.

Robogeek28 12-14-2008 06:03 PM

Looks like I'll be getting me a Deadpool now!:D

Shin Densetsu 12-14-2008 06:25 PM

Versions of Wolverine left to make that Wolverine fans like me would want:

-Death
-Astonishing X-Men
-Astonishing X-Men/current costume w/added panels(3 per forearm/ankle, showed up this way in Civil War 2006
-1st appearance(come on I'm not the only guy who likes this costume!)
-Ultimate X-Men(1st costume designed by Art Adams, black/orange)
-Ultimate X-Men(black or blue/yellow)
-Patch
-Feral(mid 90's.......either Onslaught storyline or the look from issue #102 by Adam Kubert)
-Dave Cockrum bat ears version(his initial design for Wolverine's mask during the 70's when Wolverine first joined the X-Men)
-Spy(flashback sequences w/Maverick & Sabretooth...similar to the Spy version in wave 1 but with black and gold)
-Old Man Logan
-Logan in samurai uniform/mask posessed by Muramasa(early Larry Hama issues)
-generic blue/yellow costume(not tiger stripe but the costume that Banshee, Forge, and other members had, this costume was short lived, Toybiz made one in their original X-Men line as Wolverine III, and recently Hasbro made one for their ML 2 packs w/Forge).

AdrienVeidt 12-14-2008 07:13 PM

Ha, bet you'd want the 'all-straps & bodyhair' costume he wore in the Asgardian Wars story.

Alyosha 12-14-2008 08:49 PM

Sold American! I'll take it!

It's like an early Christmas Gift, as Deadpool is my most wanted 3 3/4 figure

I would love these three for sure. Especially Patch, I loved those issues of the Wolverine series, it from when first got really heavy into comics.

The Cocrum version always looked awesome. And the x-men uniform was from a great run in the comics, so that would be good. I liked when they were wearing those uniforms, it gave them a real team look. It would also open up the idea of making the original x-men team figures.

Wait is that the brown/orange one with fur and teeth? Yeah, that I wouldn't want.

Even worse. It's basically boots, loincloth, straps, and bodyhair. Far right, next to the end with Rachel holding him up.

DEAR GOD; DO NOT WANT AT ALL!

I never even knew he wore such an atrocity! Now Rachel...yeah her..yeshh....
I forgot to add to my list..

-Weapon X(Age of Apocalypse) w/swappable stump hand, and claws eminating from stump
-Ultimate Logan(Gulf War gear and guns from that flashback where he saved Nick Fury)
-Movie Wolverine from X2
-F4 Wolverine

AlphaPrime 12-14-2008 09:53 PM

Sad they saved Maverick and modern Deadpool for 3 3'4 scale instead of Legends(same for MU wave 1 Extremis) Hasbro = SoBs.

Good thing only 3 3'4 i planned to buy were Extremis and either a brown and yellow or tiger stripe Wolvy hehe, looks like MU1 takes care of my IM need(you know, unless they redo Modular into the scale) and WO will take care of my need for TS Wolverine going by the back of that card.

scarecrow 12-16-2008 12:26 AM

I NEED Deadpool! It's practically impossible to get the Legends figure for anything under $50 and even if I did, could I fit it in my pocket?!? This is the best news ever, as that Deadpool looks fantastic!

pud333 12-16-2008 12:51 PM

So since we're getting a Gambit here, I'm guessing he won't be in the other Marvel Universe line? Or do you think Hasbro would actually double up on figures for each line?

edit: Or is the Origin and Marvel Universe line going to be one and the same?

Alyosha 12-16-2008 01:14 PM

Both lines feature similar articulation (Fury Files is almost identical to the current Joes) and are 3 3/4, so they are complementary but not quite the same.

Doubt it.

No but I think they complement each other. For example, Toybiz and Hasbro always make a lot of figures for Wolverine, Iron Man, Spiderman and any other popular character, but with the Wolverin Origins comic subline, they can get away with making a ton of different Wolverines without taking up space in the Marvel Universe line.

Which is certainly welcome. While we all know that we'll see more Wolverines in the Marvel Universe eventually, probably at least one next year, at least they're delivering all the most wanted styles in one subline so that they don't have to take slots up with Wolverine to get them out there.

Well, obviously they're doing just that thing since there's a Wolvie in both lines. It boils down to the character and his popularity. For some strange reason, Gambit does have his fans; but I'm not sure there are enough of them for him to get multiple single-carded figs essentially at once. Additionally, what other costume variations could they use as an excuse to offer him twice?

However, this wouldn't preclude him from showing up in a comic pack, with maybe some battle damage or diff accessories or something along those lines.

Overall tho, I'd think the relationship between MU and W:O (and whatever movie lines may come down the pipe) is the same relationship as between ML and the various 6" movie lines.

bigkid24 12-16-2008 04:45 PM

Hmm...only thing to deter me from getting these would be an insane price point. Overall they look pretty damn sweet but definitely the deadpool is the winner of the bunch...probably because they didn't actually have to sculpt a face.

Gambit as Death

Beast 12-16-2008 05:15 PM

And Gambit in his X-Treme X-Men costume.

Loved that outfit. Was so glad they did it in the X-Men ML subline.

True enough. I was just thinking if I'm gonna buy only one Gambit (and I will only get one since I'm not a fan and only want him cause he's on the X-men team), I didn't want to end up buying him in the origins line and have another better one crop up in the MU line.

It looks like Wolverine in the origins line is a different mold than the MU line, which is cool. At first I thought it was a straight repaint, but it looks different. The one in the MU line was a little tall compared to the GI Joes. I wonder if the origins one has been modified to be shorter and more in scale...

I think it is a much closer relationship actually. For the Iron Man line, sure you have comic inspired repaints, and some new pieces like War Machine's cannons, but ultimately you have comic based repaints using movie based molds. With the Wolverine:Origins-comic subline, you have all new molds for comic-based appearances.
