Giant Size X-men

If you live in the bay area, TRU in San Lorenzo, off of Winton, has about 5 of them, just a heads up.

Shawn Woodbeck 05-13-2011 02:59 PM

Are any of them the variant edition?

GaryDorks 05-13-2011 04:47 PM

I think Storm is a variant, there's one of her in full black costume, and one of her with white accents.

GaryDorks 05-13-2011 06:42 PM

@nexodursrex - ah ok, yes xforce on the site just showed it to me on ebay...the phasing nightcrawler

@xhavoc86 are you sure its full black vs accent white...and not accent white vs accent yellow?

cainraw 05-13-2011 07:07 PM

No variants, went to a few other TRU's around and they were all fully stocked as well

This is what I saw on eBay, one has a plain black costume with greyish hair, and the other has white accents on her outfit and more white hair.

I'm here right now at my local TRU in Houston. I finally got my hands on one. Lady said I was lucky. She said that's like the 6 one she sold within the store opening today :)

redskull3 05-14-2011 03:38 PM

Saw 5 of them at the Pontiac, Michigan Toys R US, Thursday morning..

snagged one for myself and left the rest.. went back Friday Morning with my Son and they were all gone..

as for the set... Love it.. even tho 5/6 figures have already been done.. I don't care.. I keep all my stuff MOC and the Box art is very nice.. the display of the figures is a big plus as well.

Very well spend 35.99 in my book

Well then congrats on finding one before they all got snagged :D

Reaver Strike 05-14-2011 05:03 PM

Found the set in Upstate NY. Clay/Cicero TRU had 3. I grabbed one, no variants. They also had all of wave 13. Cable had Hope. I left all those behind.

Yeah. Houston TX. They had one left. Not sure if it's still there. I can pm on which location if you want.

Dear andycr775,

Hey,

Thanks for letting me know, I was misinformed, I thought the set I have is the variant one.
I will change the description here shortly.

Thanks!

Dear rdctoys2,

hello, the item pictured does not appear to be the variant set. The variart has a semi-transparent Nightcrawler, Storm with white accents on her costume and Gold instead of yellow on Colossus. Is the item for sale the item pictured? Thank you!

FML a variant? just what we need,... I do want it, just don't feel like buying it twice. If I did I'd leave the variant MOC and open the regular.

someone did that at the local TRU here too

Reaver Strike 05-15-2011 12:49 PM

Found the pack in Upsate NY but no variant. TRU only had 3. I bought one.

We already have a thread about the Giant-Sized X-Men and sightings. Merged.

Optimus Vader 05-16-2011 08:45 AM

I'm a little confused; are these larger or the same size as MU 3.75" figures? I thought "giant" sized meant they were closer to Legends size, but in the video review on this site it looks like Colossus and Warpath are the same size as their MU single carded versions.

Are these 3.75" line figures?

gpmartin414 05-16-2011 08:48 AM

Giant Size is in reference to the famous comic this boxed set is based on -- the one that introduced the new team of X-Men after the series had been in reprints for five years. They're 3 3/4" figures.

These are for the 3.75" line. The "Giant Size" refers to the comic they are based off which was called "Giant Size X-Men" (meaning the comic book was giant sized as in longer than normal).

I picked this set up a couple of weeks ago at Toys R Us and honestly, for the price, it is a really good deal. Even though many of the figures are repeats of ones we already have seen, 6 figures for like $35 is a steal compared to most single figures out there.

You definitely need to be careful on the paint aps though. I had four to choose from at Toys R Us and still had to settle for some paint flaws here and there.

Thank you.

You'd think after I post a comment like "make this set MU sized and I'd buy it" or "my Marvel collection is strictly 3.75" so I'll be passing on this," someone might ask what the hell I'm talking about or correct me.

Oh well,.. guess who wants this set now?
