Still, I'd say wait another two weeks before we start hitting the panic button on Wave 2.

Where was that reported?

stjuggernaut 06-01-2011 10:51 AM

AndyCR75 you are a savage. awesome figures. I have fandral and heimdall coming from ebay.

are you taking them out the packages?? if so are you going to show them in amongst your collection on here? heimdall is awesome!!!

Optimus Vader 06-01-2011 10:54 AM

yes sir. when all else fails, ebay. lol. I figure I'd just chip away at it, a couple figures here or there. Not too interested in the cases on BBTS as I'm not looking for multiples you know?

thanks bro. Nope, they will stay in their plastic/cardboard coffins, I'm a strictly MOC guy!

stjuggernaut 06-01-2011 12:15 PM

ah shame!

behindthemask 06-01-2011 12:25 PM

That Hemidrall figure looks sick, not only does the headsculpt look acurate and the gold paint aps looks right. But his sword actually seems to resemble a sword and fits his hands haha.

awesome what store did you buy these at?

Jason Abbadon 06-01-2011 05:38 PM

Bitches! Where's MY Fandrall, BBTS?!?

Gotta check my preorders now...

Optimatron 06-01-2011 06:38 PM

I'd love to be buying up Thor and Cap figures left and right at the moment. However, I'm done with 3.75'' figures. For my tastes, they just don't offer the amount of articulation and detail I want.

I stopped collecting Marvel Universe around Hammer wave 2 because the QC on Havok pissed me off so bad. After collecting so many hot toys, and the back log of Marvel Legends since then...I can honestly say that I will never go back to the smaller scale. Marvel Universe, Thor 3.75, and Cap 3.75 can burn in hell while I wait for Hot Toys Thor and Captain America. Hasblow won't see another dime from me for their marvel lines unless I see vast improvement.

You're a communist.

Checked my BBTS preorders...and they're STILL on Preorder!
WTF?!?

Why...where's my love, BBTS?
Haven't I been good to you?

Between this and STILL no sightings of Cap wave 2 in my town, I is depressed.

I know my wee little area of the United States doesn't represent every part of the United States, but I've noticed that comic book figures in a movie line tend to sell much faster than the movie figures do.

So I'd be interested in where that information comes from as well since comic book figures from the movie lines are some of the hardest figures to find.

Do they sell much faster? Or are there just less of them produced to begin with?

Nevermind that once again: Just because comic figures from Iron Man 2 seemed to have sold well doesn't mean the same would automatically be true for Thor.

I will amend my earlier "reportedly" to "it was rumored" because I don't remember for the life of me which toy site I read it on, but it was months ago (well before the Thor line ever hit shelves, but after it was becoming rapidly apparent that there wasn't going to be a comic-line to go with it). Thor was an unproven property, and retailers don't tend to take big risks on those. And once again, folks have yet to dissuade the notion that a lot of Thor's comic versions and comic characters just flat-out look silly. The Warriors Three? Balder? About half of Odin's outfits. Even Beta Ray Bill is pretty out-there. Yes, there are characters that would look "cooler" in figure form than those (Sif, Malekith, Most of Loki's outfits, Most of Thor's outfits, Ulik, Skurge, Hela) but generally the manufacturers try to have the comic figures line up with the characters that are actually in the movie for the most part.

Sadly, it looks like we'll never see a comic line for Thor. While Hasbro said they planned on some comic-based figures in "later assortments" it seems unlikely we'll ever get to those later assortments. Then again, some retailers around me have very few Thor figures while Wal-Mart remains packed to the gills.

nomad1632 06-03-2011 06:58 AM

just broke down and bought wave 2 hammer smash thor, fandral, and volstagg from my iron man 2 seller on ebay. Hes always gotten me perfect paint figures and I just cant wait anymore on these figures hitting stores.

I wish Hasbro's $9 figures were on par with Hot Toys' $150 figures too. That would be awesome.

Jmacq1 06-03-2011 07:42 AM

On a side note....wave 3 appears to be shipping to e-tailers, as my wave 2/3 set from BBTS processed yesterday.
