Ah thats really not that expensive is it?? Especially if you only want one or two castings, does he not charge you for making the mold?? Thanks for the link,im gonna have a lil browse now!! Iv had a great head idea for the Chaos Glyos im working on,il keep you informed!!
Sweet and its just 10-15 each plus shipping but the main thing is to see if the master mold is still good shoot him an email hes a busy guy but a nice guy
Thanks for the tip mate,i might drop him a message!! Have you seen the OMFG critters that are up on the Onell store?? I love the King Castor, its amazing, but the others dont really do a lot for me,so $12 is a lot to pay for 1 figure really aint it??
ya, its a bit to pay, im getting 5 sets so far, it was a project on the octobertoys forum where members came up with characters and then voting, then a kickstarter project went underway and these are the 5 figs that made it all the way from concept to production, the skull guy is from a guy i know personallly the others ive had deals with them before so its a big communal project............... :) just a lil backround info on it ;)

Ah thats awesome, possibly the best competition ever, and what a buzz for the winners to see their characters turned into toys!! Can i be a cheeky bugger and ask you to keep an eye out for any individual King Castors that may turn up on the forums?? Great work on the latest custom too,he reminds me of those insect-like aliens from Babylon5!! |
no prob man, ill def keep an eye up you ought to joint the octobertoys forum if nothing else to check out all the glyos stuff :)
thanks :) i dyed this one right before bed last night also :) http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...2/DSC06295.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...2/DSC06296.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...2/DSC06297.jpg |
Yes Proteus listen to Ersico, he's the Glyos customizing king! :P
Not for much longer though, soon he'll be a 3A customizer! |
ha, someone find me a junke or cheap 3a and ill give it a shot...
do you guys have to use a certain paint for these figures.
i use only acrylics. enamels don't cure as well to the pvc plastic..so i use modelmasters acryl for the majority but i use timaya acrylic for silver and the aluminum.
and clearcoat i use delta ceramcoat satic and gloss :) its a brush on clear coat,,,,i used to use krylon krystal spray but it got very tacky over time |

i havent had any probs with the ceramcoat,,,i think the trick i and others have found out while using it is to have it really hot some people take a hairdryer to it, i set all the pieces under one of my reptile lamps for some time before building..and its durable afterwards and no tacky, nice and smooth...the krylon worked well for a while but my house is very humid (lots of aquariums) and the humidity was always a factor with the krylon

anytime man :) i might not be the best or most knowledgeable but ill share whatever works for me :)
Dont listen to Ersico being all humble, he's the freakin man when it comes to customizing and is golden when it comes to anything he touches.
do you ever think this line will make it to retail?
nope. it won't its strictly designer toy line for internet and small run, matt and michelle doughty are very hands on from design, molding , makins sure the master molds in china are perfected adn the qc is spot on.......they and matts sister usally box up all the orders so its a very small well oiled machine that churns them out. i don't see them ever going to big store

that and on drop night there is a certain number of figs produced of each "character" or build and once their sold out, thats it. 2ndary market or get lucky for trades...and some figs sell out within minutes so high demand...and at thier price point of 4, 6, 8, 10, 25, 50 not many people that shop big stores would pay those prices i don't think, unfortunately ...... i would cause i would get tons of them but the regular kid would want the more poplar mainstream stuff, just my opinion on it though
on a side note what about ThreeA ever making it to retail or is it the same concept?
