Really? You're privy to proprietary Hasbro information? Somehow I kind of doubt that.

Though by the same token I'm willing to accept your statement, if with less certainty than you invoke. All I know is that Toys R Us (which is the ONLY retailer around here that ever carried them) has been sitting on a pile of Galacti for months now, and already seem to be working on building up their pile of Sentinels.

I suspect the $60 pricepoint is what puts most people off.

Annihilus should be able to fit on a regular card, honestly.

And yeah, how could I have forgotten Surtur and Ymir on my list earlier? Heck, I'd say if they were going to go all out with new tooling and such, Surtur would be a high probability of getting made.

Though I also suspect they're going to recycle the Sentinel quite a bit.

I wouldn't mind a mole man monster - but I'm not sure about paying $50 or more for it.

Greenskar 09-07-2011 10:22 AM

Since there are only so many characters that can be done in this scale, many of which would likely not sell as well as say a Galactus or a Sentinel, I propose thinking outside the box.

While not an actual character, who would welcome an actual Masterworks Blackbird Jet for the X-Men?

I think this would also look good in a Blister Card as a future SDCC exclusive to remain consistent.

I think before they come out with a Blackbird, they should give us a Marvel Universe Professor X..

I appreciate your desire for that figure, I believe its one we all share. But don't you think he could also be packaged with a blackbirds jet? (like wolverine/sentinel). Granted, I definitely don't want to wait another few years for a prof. X figure. Just saying even if he was released earlier he could always be a variant later.

I'm guessing (hoping) FFF comes with a Mandarin figure at retail stores.

gooeychicken 09-07-2011 11:24 AM

i am happy theyre doing FFF asthe next masterworks because i dont have a foom baf, i can get the sdcc one for about $40 cheaper than a complete BAF and im hoping that there is a green variant released at retail (since each masterworks has had a variant) and the one thing that has kept me from buying a BAF FFF is the fact that he didnt have his purple shorts, so now that he has them im sold :D i could careless if he talks. and we all know that hes gonna come with the same classic iron man they have included in every pack -_- hopefully they included a different iron man at least, im hoping for one like the ML faceoff one, love that design. i really doubt mandarin will happen :/

on the vehicles note, i thinks thats an awesome idea!!! id so buy a blackbird!

I really don't think that hasbro would give a Prof X with the blackbird unless it was released as a single figure first. and only the retail versions of the SDCC came with a figure. Galactus had Silver Surfer, Sentinel has Wolverine, no idea who Fin Fang Foom will come with retail. So we would have to get more than one blackbird.. lol one SDCC for its blister card, then one retail to get prof X. wow.. expensive

Also, coloring.. what colors could the blackbird come in? Black? Blue?

I'm not certain of this, but I don't think Marvel has crossed-over a figure yet from one of their "movie" lines. While some figures are very similar, they tend to be different construction and materials used. So, the Mandarin figure might be from IM2, or it could be the more traditional look with the robes. Or ... it might be Iron Man. I fear that it will be Iron Man - as he keeps popping up in every other two pack or three pack!

If Xavier came with the Blackbird, it would be even more brilliant than selling the comic Loki in the battle pack, as they know X-men fans would have to buy it regardless of cost! Hasbro has been pretty surprising in the figures they tuck in the "big fig" packs - Clone Thor, Loki, and Bucky CA come to mind. The new Cap finally showed up again with the movie, but I wonder if Loki will ever be found in a single pack? Nonetheless, if those figures are unique enough for Hasbro to sell packed in with something else, why not Xavier?

90% of the Wolverines are from XWO lol. Just a different paint. And some may have a different head sculpt

Crazy Jetty 09-07-2011 12:16 PM

I'm not so sure of the height chart. Some of those seem pretty messed up. Henry Gyrich is taller than Hulk? That doesn't seem right. But then a lot of others are dead right for everything I've read in the past.

Thats so true, I forgot that the figs in the battles packs never came out single carded.

iLegends73 09-07-2011 12:42 PM

a giant dragon with boxer shorts on......yea i'll pass

Thank you for seeing my point.

There is a way they can release Xavier single carded and still make him desireable as a ack in figure for an X-Jet (the hypothetical masterworks x jet, lol). Just release him single carded in his wheelchair, then make him the same mold slightly different paint apps but with his hover chair from the 90's cartoon in a X Jet package...or vice versa.

Don't like that idea? Ok fine. Pack an X jet with Astral Charles Xavier. Hell pack it with 90's Beast for all I care, I want an X Jet in Masterworks is all I'm saying and I wanted to know who was with me lol.

The fact that Mandarin was so rare in stores is more reason why I think they should pack him with FFF. If they pack it with another iron man I will only buy the sdcc exclusive.

unfortunately, with me being a MOC Completist, as much as I don't want him.. I have to get him... and what kills me is I know I am going to be paying alot for him since I cannot make it to SDCC.

I'm a completest to as well. But This one I am actually looking forward to.

roadrevenge 09-07-2011 01:09 PM

I just hope he comes in green for the SDCC blister card, and and orange in retail.

Green is his normal colors right, not orange?

Do Boy 09-07-2011 01:10 PM

Yes, I believe green is is original color

roadrevenge 09-07-2011 01:16 PM

hasbro is going to have one hell of a time fitting that monster in a blister card. I bet that it will be the bigger version of the card (example: hulks card, cables card, dr. dooms card, the bubble is bigger on these) in SDCC size..

I can just image the cost I will have to pay on ebay to buy it and then to ship it....

im gonna cry..

Actually, the orange FFF is not FFF at all; it is the Midgard Serpent who took the form of FFF to trick Thor. I'm kind of hoping - due to this fact - that Orange=SDCC exclusive and Green=Regular release.

Hmm, I always thought that in Foom's first ever appearance he was coloured Orange and changed to green quickly after that?

In any case, I have no doubt that Mandarin will be the pack-in figure. If Hasbro do even the smallest amount of research they should be able to notice the, uh, eagerness, of some collectors to get him.

As for who we could see in future Masterworks? I'd love a Ymir and Surtur. Most other options, barring a few, are just too small.

Nope - at least not in "bring back the bad guys" which featured the first appearance of foom. He was two shades of green with purple shorts ( unless the recolored him for the reprint).

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure, and would happily admit my error. This page does seem to indicate the orange original though.
