I have to disagree. Re-read the first arc of the team and it is pretty morose. The team leader is a rat who is using the rest of team to beef up his image and stab the rest in the back. Like Suicide Squad, any member can die at any time. If you were a fan of the first few years of The Authority or Invincible then I suggest you give it a try. So SPOILER.... . . . . ... ... ... ... The Team Leader gets annilialated along with a handful of others. This leads to a drastic change in which characters have no choice but step up or die (ala Ash in Evil Dead :) ). In the meantime the team has to deal with the corporation running their daily routine and not in their best interests to stay alive. Read the first four issues and then get back to me. The book was great. It went downhill later, but it had a constant change aspect to it that I see in the writings of Kirkman's books. |
We'll just have to respectfully agree to disagree.
And I'm not being butthurt because my X-Force was cancelled (I'm not, nor have ever been an X-Force fan. Not that you suggested I was). I just... seriously... cannot come up with anything good to say about X-statix at any point in it's run. (Though I likewise can't say much good about anything X-Men at the time) |
Stop making more Wolverine figures please... that new Astonishing Wolverine is perfect and will probably be most people's default wolverine. In fact IMHO we could have done without Team X, 1st App & Patch CP Wolvie.

I could live with never, ever, seeing plastic wasted on a Squirrel Girl.
|
Maggot ... i hated that guy with a passion ... plus any of the Currently found mutants by Hope ... they are all so damn lame.
|
Dogpool and headpool I can live without. But they better make Lady Deadpool and Kidpool as a CP.
I do want Maggot, Transsonic(with all her forms included somehow), and Squirrel girl, but I can do without the rest of Hope's team besides Hope herself. So hell no to Idie, Zero, and dog boy. I also agree on the whole Marvel has been going downhill on the x-titles except for X-23's comic(which is completely staying away from the X-Titles for the most part!), and some other grouped titles(like I said before, often we excuse these bad stories because of being fans, I also agree wholeheartedly that Quesada has singlehandedly brought marvel to the brink of disaster with his choices if not for some key writers who could really sell the stories as good), but the 90s changeover had more to do with sales than popularity. Generation X was canceled because the sales just dropped off after they went so incomprehensible and painful to read with the stories. It was right after X-Statix ended that I stopped buying comics altogether for awhile. They went all Rayner is a god over in DC and millenium giants and worse, and Marvel was confused as all hell as what to do with the characters. Well DC got over it... Sort of. Marvel? Not so much. The X-Titles hit a high point with the messiah stories and academy X, but then dropped behind their normal low points with the resolution feeling rushed, and the stories that followed with the lights except for Transsonic. I'm really digging her polymorphic flight speed induced manifestations especially the mouthless space mermaid one. She almost feels like something that should be in Marvel cosmic, not Generation Hope. |

Patch Wolvie wouldve been great ... HAD HE HAD A FRIGGIN PATCH! |
I wouldn't want to see a wife-slappin' Hank Pym.
|
Any of the facility or NYX characters could be skipped entirely. Well, except for maybe Kiden, but definitely skip her dad.
I refuse to buy figures that's sole claim to fame is from child abuse, just as I refuse to buy figures that are from stories sold on shock value alone. |
I don't think I wouldn't want specific characters not made, just like it's been mentioned, I don't want the repeat characters done anymore. There are WAY too many characters to be made without giving us guys that have been made to death. I was would've said something like "Rocket Raccoon", but there was a huge outpouring of happiness when he was announced. So I guess it's all that "Different Strokes" stuff. I bet people would roll their eyes at half the characters I'd like to see, so it balances out...

I feel it's one thing for the title character to recieve multiple variants, like Captain America, and Thor, for their movies. Spiderman as well. But when you get an entire line that is mostly Thor, and doesn't even produce one figure each of all the major action characters (After 30 years, it's painfully obvious we'll almost never get a figure of a non-action character), something is seriously wrong.
I can also understand giving new figures of popular characters every so often. So kids can actually get a Wolverine figure, or an Iron Man without having to track down a two year old figure. But the onslaught we get of some characters are just boarderline rediculous. Wolverine has been aweful since Toybiz first started. Almost every single wave had a Wolverine, and it's continued pretty much to now. (Though Marvel Legends have never been as bad with him) |
