I knew this was gonna happen. This is the first time darkhawk ever had an action figure, so its kinda a milestone for the character. Im gonna try to find him today so i can complete the wave. Oh, for you team builders out there, he was on the west coast avengers for like 2 seconds.

And he was a new warrior too.
So he goes with:
West Coast Avengers, New Warriors, Marvel Cosmic, Loners/Excelsior, and he fits in with Spider-man's extended cast as he did cameo in spidey's comic and vice versa off and on.

Yeah, this being his first ever figure has got me excited to get him. I've always wanted his figure. Now I have two leads on where to get him, but one requires waiting until october, and the other requires waiting on a board member to get back to me.

Does Darkhawk ever even appear in comics anymore?

Nope, his story is unresolved and just sitting there.

More amulets are supposed to be activating, but he has no title and is in no titles since Nova ended. It's one of marvel's great screw ups. They finally brought him back to the limelight, gave him a cool story, completely rewrote his backstory, and gave him a mission. Now that he has a mission he has no medium for the story to be told, it's just sitting in nothingness.

Though to be fair, last we saw him, he was hospitalized, but that was like a year ago or more. It was at the beginning of the cancerverse story of the Thanos imperitive. He hasn't been in anything at all since.

Chris Powell the person in the armor is.
Razor, the armor itself isn't.

So yes Darkhawk is a good guy, but really I guess it depends on which of the two is in control of the armor at the time.

As of War of Kings where it retconned most of the history previously known of the character. Yup.

The Fraternity of the Raptors(the amulets and armor) are essentially cosmic assassins that have an agenda unknown to the rest of the universe (or the audience), and while their unknown goal may not be evil in and of itself, the actions to attain that goal seem to be.

Assassinating Lilandra (at Razor/DarkHawk's hands), a subliminal phrase in the baby annihilus, manipulating people, and outright taking over the bodies of their host without any consent are all evil actions. We've just never been privy to their agenda to know what their ultimate goal is and what they are trying to direct fate and the universe towards.

This is why it annoys the hell out of me that marvel has done nothing with this story since the beginning of the Thanos Imperitive. All we know is that more amulets are popping up all over the universe, and then bam, Chris Powell is in the hospital and the story is never continued. Yeah, thanks Marvel. You do something extremely badass with a beloved character that could finally make more fans of people, and what do you do? You kick him to the curb with a giant middle finger up to everyone by never touching him since.

wow, thanks for the backstory snow, pretty cool.

neatogecko 09-17-2011 02:27 PM

LOL. Anyone else notice that the stand for the new Sub-Mariner figure says "Imperious Rex"? Pretty cool.

neatogecko 09-17-2011 02:30 PM

Yeah, I just got the new wave yesterday and the "Imperious Rex" on Namor's stand was such a cool little touch.

That was Namor's quote that he would always say when he would punch people.

ah,I didnt know that,I thought it was the name the film crew used for the dark knight rises while shooting, you know,to "keep it secret".

HISS878th 09-25-2011 11:20 AM

It wasn't her boots that I thought where off a bit it was Steve Rogers brown against the blue uniform that caught my attention more so.

Speak for yourself.
They are here in Chicagoland.

Exodus 10-10-2011 12:38 PM

They're finally starting to trickle in more in OR. Helped out a buddy here though with a X-23 and Darkhawk, glad he could enjoy them!

X-23 & Darkhawk seem to be the popular ones in this wave.

D00MTR0N 10-10-2011 06:39 PM

darkhawk is the htf winner of this wave imo.

I fear this to be true and while I'm happy to have found Imperious Rex Namor today, I want that Darkhawk so much more. Let us not declare a winner yet

Reaver Strike 10-10-2011 07:25 PM

I've seen a number of DH's.

Hell yes! So, quick story: Stop at TRU yesterday and I find Namor (Imperius Rex stand) and Ultron! My first time seeing this wave and of course someone has beaten me to the rest. Suddenly someone else is there, checking the waves. As I rarely see this, I had to say hi. I mentioned someone had already scored the rest, and he tells me he has X-23 and Darkhawk for sale. I'm all, no way! So now I'm all outside of a Toys R Us, buying action figures out of some guy's car! We swap names, I mention Toyark and waddaya know, it's my new friend Exodus! Thanks again, my man!
