So is there a Darkhawk variant or no one knows?

There is, it's just we're not sure what it'll look like.
Another arker had said it was coming out in the revision wave.

Do Boy 10-04-2011 09:07 AM

Was it officially announced that there would be a variant of this figure? They said nothing about the Sub-Mariner variant stand but bam, there it it is.

I think a slide of the variant and the announcement were both released at SDCC this year. At least, that's what I heard.

Oh ok. I wish I could have gotten into the press conference. But that line was stupidly long.

neatogecko 10-04-2011 10:32 AM

Everything I have heard indicates there will be a Darkhawk variant (most likely a different head and maybe different paint). As far as I know the variant is not out yet and there haven't been any real sightings of it. I don't think any pictures were ever shown of it either. My guess is the variant will show up a ways down the road in a revision case (ala Dark Mrs. Marvel, Blue/Red Warpath, Dark Daredevil, Dark Blue Bullseye, etc).

M3T4L V1KING 10-08-2011 11:02 AM

I'm just going to say that it's apparently not a paint variant and it's already out... It's apparently a claw variant? Some Darkhawk figures have 2 claws while the others have 3. If this is true, this is a very lame and disappointing variant.

lol, that is not a variant, you can see where the flimsy claw broke off.

I was just going by from what I heard. I have yet to see a Darkhawk figure in person yet.

dont believe anything you here, trust me,I have 3 of this figure and the claws break really easy, that pic is a factory error.

Tiberius 10-08-2011 12:07 PM

Jesus had 3 girlfriends at a time. FACT.

I bet the variant is going to be one of those revisioned ones.

agree, Hasbro has been doing this with the variants lately

Do Boy 10-08-2011 02:25 PM

I hope it isn't in a later revision wave.

Colder Soldier 10-08-2011 02:52 PM

I know nothing of these new Darkhawk comics. From the pics you guys posted, it looks kinda badass. I would like to see figs of all these new costumes/ characters/ incarnations.

I like the current DH fig as well. Picked him up along with the rest of the wave last week thinking "why not"... Now I'm wanting to go home and dig up a lot of 90's comics. :)

CLASSIFIED 10-08-2011 03:13 PM

I didn't see the new Darkhawk variant, but I did see Elvis and Bigfoot flying around in a U.F.O.

DO IT! The old darhawk series reads like a "What Of Spider Man was kind of an angry guy when he got his powers?"
It's got all sorts of cool subplots right from the start- a disgraced cop father gone missing, mom trying to get by without her husband while raising a younger son and Chris (Darkhawk) in high school with anger issues.
And they live in a bad part of Brooklyn with gangs, drugs, bad cops...you name it.

Then read the new series that takes the entire last year or so of the old series and turns it on it's ear! In an amazing way that makes all the off cheesy 90's stuff that the old series had in places and pulls the rug out from under it!

MasterSock 10-13-2011 06:59 PM

Here it is tomorrow i'll get a close shot!

Difference is the paint job instead of purple it blue like gladiator blue.

M3T4L V1KING 10-13-2011 08:06 PM

Good to know. I will admit that I'm a little disappointed in the variant but I will also admit that the blue looks better. I was just hoping it was going to something more noticeable.

Do Boy 10-13-2011 08:08 PM

That one looks better then the one released right now. (from the other pic posted up)

Snowflakian 10-13-2011 08:26 PM

Looks like he has added detail to the boots. That kind of sucks then it doesn't have the variant head they were talking about, or at least classic style colored wings. Looks more like a potential running change than a real variant.

I agree. A variant should have a little more...variations. Like the Havok Variant, Osborn Head IP are prime examples. Even the FF variant pack and Absorbing Man for paint variants are pretty good examples too. Honestly, this Darkhawk doesn't look much different, even with a different silver and blue colour, which i can hardly notice.

Peteparker 10-13-2011 08:56 PM

The blue does look better though...

There's another pic in the appreciation thread that shows that the belt is painted up some, and the silver has been added to the chest for highlights too. No extremely good angles on the head, but the appreciation thread's shot makes it look like it may be more pointed and 'sharp' in the mouth piece, as opposed to flattened out like the current one is.

Hopefully that's the case, and that'd make the one we now the 'classic inspired' one, and this one the new modern one. Not sure. Need more pics, but I'll definitely bite since it's darkhawk anyway.

mikefavata 10-13-2011 09:03 PM

Lemme blow your minds a little bit.

Everyone was told there would be a "classic Darkhawk variant"...

The variant lately comes first (Absorbing Man, Dr. Strange, etc.)...

The current Darkhawk IS the variant!

This looks like the more modern Talon (War of Kings), which would make it the modern version.

That, made me happy.
