I don't have a fighting chance in this thread on account of I have not the real life experience of being either a god or a tyrant hell bent on world domination to supplement my comic book knowledge.

Luckily for me Classified has already provided the comic book story references where Doom has not emerged victorious, but Thor has. You want to read it Doomtron? I'm sure that Marvel digital subscription would come in handy to help you out, it's not like you can resist not getting that unmasked Doom with a infinity gauntlet anyway.

Just because someone "barely" loses...it's still counts as a loss in the grand scheme of things. This isn't kindergarten where it's not about winning or losing, hell yeah it's about winning.

I doubt Doom would ever be worthly to lift Mjolnir. Certainly none of his Doombots could do it. And any time there's a pic of him doing it, it's a non-canon story, non-616 version of Victor or simply an artist's fantasy pin-up.

I do think it's rather convienent that when Doom loses, it's usually written off as a Doombot. Strategic genius or lazy writing?

Villains need to be a vaiable threat to the heroes, otherwise there's no tension or danger. So I understand the writers needing to create that drama by making Doom a threat to any heroes he may encounter.

But seriously? Thor wins.
