He's a good mentionable, but his relentlessness never paid off, I guess that's part of the stigma attatched to a cartoon villian, they can't actually kill the main character as there'd be no show.

Other mentionables.

No-Heart from Carebears, his name alone is badass he doesn't give a fuck, plus he wants to kill a bunch of happy bears, pretty cool in my eyes, his costume rocked 2.

I know this is 90's but Joker is 1 of my all-time favorite cartoon villians
http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...tain/index.jpg

From TMNT Shredder
http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/images-1.jpg

From 101 Dalmations, Cruella Deville, she maybe a chick but she wanted to kill 101 dogs to make a coat, that's pretty evil, movie came out in early 90's and there was a cartoon show about it 2.

@behindthemask: Dude...I can name a junk - load of 90's cartoon villians...but if you wanna talk about that...make another thread...please? This one is the greatest 80's cartoon Villian. :)

Tiberius 11-09-2011 01:34 AM

Megatron gets my vote, even Shockwave. The Dicepticons where just so awsome in the 80's. Sure Prime is the coolest EVER, but as a group, Megatron and his Dicepticons all the way.

Darkspeed 11-09-2011 12:21 PM

Although my vote is still on Claw, I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Shredder from Ninja Turtles... That was a show I watched as much as Inspector Gadget!

solo0525 11-09-2011 12:26 PM

Go megatron !!

Behindthemask mentioned him three posts above yours. ;)

My favorite thing about the cartoon Shredder was he was voiced by Uncle Phil. :D

solo0525 11-09-2011 03:02 PM

Was that uncle phil from the fresh prince of bel-air ?

bmorr 11-09-2011 08:25 PM

he was also rhody on the iron man cartoon

IhsantheCursed 11-09-2011 10:21 PM

Megs is still in the lead! POWER TO THE DECEPTICONS FOREVER!!

NO-heart from carebears was in the 80's Carebears came out in 81'. Also TMNT's Shredder came out in the 80's as well, just the photo I found was from the 90's. Joker is a character villian from the 80's tv show but wasn't portrayed in cartoons till the 90's and Cruella was early/mid 90's, I appologize for her, I just always thought she was a ruthless cold blooded killer.

yourfacehere 11-10-2011 12:16 AM

I put one in for Dr.Claw's evil Asian twin, who only appeared in one episode.

Well that'll teach me to skip through posts! But yeah, didn't know it was uncle Phil who voiced Shredder until a few years ago... Not every time I watch turtles, all I can see is him shouting at Will Smith! :P

bmorr 11-10-2011 05:26 AM

anyone remember the dungeons and dragons cartoon?

Professor Coldheart. There was a guy at TFW with that handle, made me laugh every time I saw him post.

No-Heart doesnt count cause he cannot possibly be compared to any of the others on the voting list can he? Are these not the greatest of 80s cartoon villians? I always thought that Care Bears were more of a girly thing anyway. I mean if I include him on this list I would have to include any Heathcliff or "An American Tale" villians too lol wouldnt I?

When most guys of that era think of the cartoon Shredder, they think of the early 90s (I know I do). As thats when the show aired the most. Sooo...I would sooner include The Shredder on a list of the greatest 90s cartoon villians. Thats just me though.

No need to apologize though friend.

quipp209 11-10-2011 11:24 PM

How about Dr. Claw inspector gadget villain he was a perfect 80s villain he never got caught n he kept the hero always on the edge and he had a pet lol

Actually, the original turtles cartoon debuted in 1987, so that would put him on the tail end of 80's villains!

I never said that TMNT didnt come out in the 80s im saying it made most of its run, or air time, through the 90s. Therefore when I think of The Shredder, I think of him as a 90s villian as thats when I recall seeing him on the screen.

trebleshot 11-11-2011 04:08 PM

Well, it's your poll. But bear in mind when you throw out specific dates (or in this case, decades), anything that appeared within said time frame should count. To me, Shredder is definitely an 80's villain.

As far as the worthiness of No-Heart as a villain is concerned, it's debatable. Certainly evil, but not at the level of some of the others mentioned.

Actually, I believe that's been mentioned a couple times in the thread too. Both Tiamat and Venger got name-checked.

Look at it this way brother: Would you as a , Im guessing , fan of The Shredder rather see him in a competition with the Likes of Megatron and Cobra Commander where he would probly lose, or in there with the 90s guys where he would probly win?

Anyhow, Technicalities aside, imo when I think of Shredder I think 90s...not 80s. And as you stated...its my poll. :)

behindthemask 11-12-2011 02:16 AM

We're all mature here haha, we can't compare No-Heart to Megatron, it's like compairing an apple to an atomic bomb. It's fucking retarded, excuse my french. I just think his name and overall character design are bad ass, hell you actually see him as whole character, yet people give more street cred to DR.Claw, but his character is mainly a chair, deep voice, and a cat which he strokes haha. I actually suggested both examples, as the thread says "80's villian" you never specified it had to be from transformers haha. I kinda hate threads like this because people take them 2 serious or get bent out of shape when their suggestion isn't immediatley addored by fellow arkers. I much prefer the colaborative threads where we all can learn and grow as collectors and people, such as most memorable cartoon villians from the 70,80,90's and today, that way young and old and can list off their favorites, read about others and why it's that way for them. Personally No-Heart is my selection because his name is badass and my babysitter growing up forced me and my sister to watch carebares so I watched it lol. either way, Megatron wins.

I agree. To a point anyway. I think threads like this are good because they help us to reflect on what we loved so much about the eras we grew up in, aswell as drawing us closer as a community. I do see what your saying though, and definatly respect that point of view. I dont think anything said here is worth getting "bent outta shape" about either.
