Since no one has actually posted a link to the pic of the minifigs, or they have, I'm just too tired to notice it. I thought I read everything. Here you go:

I might pick up a few depending on the sets, but otherwise I'm sticking to the megabloks minifigs.

They just seem to work better with my transformers collection.
Now if they do a full sized helicarrier for the mini-figs, and other oddities like OA's power battery, avengers tower, four freedoms plaza, etc. Then I might have no choice but to bite. Already the idea of amalgam and marvel vs DC is tempting as is.

There was a Lego Batman game (and a sequel is coming out). But I don't know of any that involves the DCU as a whole.

That is exactly why I plan on buying the Wolverine and Batman Hero Factory sets. ;)

Aside from that, I'll probably do the same thing that I'm going to do with DC Legos and just buy certain characters/sets. I would prefer buying individual minifigs rather than whole sets, but Lego could take these two and copy Hasbro's strategy with their Kreons.

Cool, couldn't you combine the minimates with these? They're kind of on the same line aren't they...

You can't say they're the same line at all, minimates are a good half inch-1nch taller, then lego mini figures. plus there's more poa. They're similiar in styling and stature but not the same.

Ah ok thank you for that...

I just went to TRU on my lunch break to get some of these Lego sets for some kids I have to buy for in my family, but nothing yet... so they got Kreos.

Good Stuff 12-21-2011 05:21 PM

No thanks!

Yeah, as far as I know the Marvel ones aren't being released until after Christmas. Even the DC ones weren't supposed to drop so soon, my guess is that LEGO saw a boost in sales and wanted to meet the demand with some new product.

More likely, there's no hard street date like some movie toys (That specifically state "DO NOT STOCK BEFORE"), and stores are stocking them as they roll in from the warehouses.
The dates we're given is probably more like an estimate of when we can expect to see these.

That makes sense, but who knows? A LEGO representative I talked to said that the DC stuff wasn't supposed to be out so soon but they decided to push the line into stores and in their LEGO online shop a little sooner than planned. I guess I'm basing my assumption that it was to meet the demands of the holiday season on what he told me, and the fact that many of the LEGO toy aisles I've been in recently are ransacked.

That makes sense, too.

I just noticed that someone is doing preorders for Wolverine's Chopper Showdown. Thats the set with Wolvie, Magneto, and Deadpool. Considering what characters are included, I figured some of you guys would like to know.

Starscream99 03-25-2012 09:48 PM

Only if they put out blind packs.

I know what you mean. It is unrealistic to display all of the huge vehicles they release so I pick and choose, plus sometimes I just want certain characters. They won't do blind packs of franchise characters because they are the reason the sets are so sought after, but at least Mega Bloks tried to hook us up.

Starscream99 03-25-2012 09:59 PM

So true DFD. Yeah and I'm sore at them for taking the franchise from Mega-Bloks.

The idea of walking into a random store and buying a blind pack for $3 with the safeguard of knowing it is a cool Marvel character is/was very cool. The price is incredible, and I'm sure that was seen as a threat to the LEGO lines. I find it interesting that the Mega Bloks hit US retail so soon to the launch of the LEGO Marvel stuff. The legal bullshit behind that must have been very interesting.

Panthro1978 03-26-2012 01:47 AM

Possibly. I'd have to see the prices first.

thechris 03-26-2012 02:15 AM

I'd be more interested if they weren't so movie inspired.

I think it's the fact that they are movie inspired that interests me, to be honest.

The Wolverine one is pretty random. Wolvie, Deadpool, and Magneto are weird choices for one set.

I imagine that's to capitalize on those extremely popular names. I mean they're related story-wise, it's just funny it's the only non-movie inspired set they seem to be doing. I was expecting yet another Hugh Jackman inspired Wolverine which I hate. These Marvel ones seem to be a real mixed bag unlike the DC ones.

Yeah, I'm not even sure if I'm going to be getting into the Marvel ones, but weird sets will probably be pretty pricey once they're retired.

Newsarama just posted pictures of the new AVENGERS Legos

Be forewarned, this is the first time I've seen what "The General" and the "Soldiers" look like. Definitely not Skrulls!

I've spoken to many school aged children in my area about the upcomming Marvel Legos and none of them have even heard of them.
