haha,so much for that "street date".

Jason Abbadon 12-28-2011 08:59 PM

Yeah- I think that's just an aproximate date they'll be around- of course, if your local TRU has pegs full of dust-covered IM2 figs that they're too stupid to clearance, the date means even less.

You know what is weird, since last week, ALL the MU figs from my Target were bought out except the older comic packs.

I think they got the new wave and some duchebag scalped them all....or rabid parents bought everything for Christmas, which I hope is the case!

Most likely...all you have to do though is check ebay, that's how I used to check when they've hit retail.

gpmartin414 12-28-2011 09:04 PM

I ordered the wave 17 case and I still haven't gotten it, although I didn't order it until November.

tsweet 12-28-2011 09:35 PM

confirmed in San Diego. Found new wave at a target so I went to 2 other targets and nothing. No psy or storm. But got the rest 1 of each and 2 thors!! Will be keeping my eye on the other 2 targets for the rest of the week.

Do they? They were the very first anywhere with the new comic packs- even Diamond had not gotten them before I had them.

BUt the service is spotty- some things get in right away and others months after the wave is in stores and easily found.

With this, some Arkers got theirs and others did not- I think if you ordered a case, you got it first.
I only ordred the ladies from this.

I ordered a case as well. Only people I know who have gotten theirs ordered in September

I talked to a retail store owner before Christmas about how that happens, and he said that he's not sure about big chains, but he has to pay taxes on his entire inventory at the end of the year, so there's a lot of incentive to get rid of stock in any way possible before Jan 1st.

His plan was to donate 50% of the stuff that hadn't sold in 6 months to charity.

Could Target be doing the same thing?

I've noticed the exact same phenomenon at mine. More than half of the crummy stock is just plain gone, replaced with nothing.

Jason Abbadon 12-28-2011 10:16 PM

I doubt Target got rid of anything for charity or by year's end- they still have an asile full of Piratesof the summer flop.
They're trying to "clearance" the deluxe figs for "only" $11.98.
A month ago, they had Green Lantern figs for $3.50...and no one bought them.
Then, two weeks before X-Mas, they jacked the prices back to $7.99
Now they've put hem on "sale" for just $6.99- what a deal!

NO clue what the people at target are smoking- I see other Arkers talking about stuff found on clearance but none of my stores ever discount jack shit.

I notice that Target puts there figures on sale within every second or third week of the month for a week, than puts them back up to regular price.

ONE out of the 5 targets in my area has IM2 figures on clearance, for $5.39. Weird.

evilanimation 12-28-2011 10:42 PM

I bought a bunch of Pirate stuff online for cheap, got 3 of the Big Boats for $17.40 and the deluxe figures for $5.40, The movie was terrible but what kid does not like pirates.

Jason Abbadon 12-28-2011 10:45 PM

RIght? Is it the manager's discretion or something to put stuff on clearance?

A month or so back, I went to Wal Mart and they had their usual inventory of Jack and Shit so I was about to leave when I aw a SW Death Star Commander with a red Clearance sticker on him for $4.
One asile over, there were a couple on the peg with other SW figs for $8.50.
Noting wrong with the clearance version either- unopened, perfect card, etc.

I bought it, but it's still a head-scratcher as to why it was marked down.

I use to work for Target as one of the people who did the price change and all it is if i remember correctly is the store got a email from corporate tellin the store what was going on clearence and we print that paper out and go find the item and tag them there was even times when we never got a item in that was suppose to be a very popular item during the holidays n as soon as Christmas was over the truck we get in is full if that item so we would have to clearence those out right as they come off the truck ... Also while ur at Target check the base decks people hid stuff under there and never come back for it my friend that works there still recently found a archangel in 6" size he got it for me for $1 LOL they sold it to him cheap because it wasn't in the system no more he also found a avalanche as well but he kept that one ...

Tiberius 12-29-2011 12:31 AM

My god...I tried reading that in my head in one go and lost my breath! Periods dude, periouds lol. Amazing finds though on that Avalanche figure though, he goes for big bucks!

Sweet, getting a figure like that for $1 would be great. I used to stash figures in the drawers of miscellaneous furniture displays at Target, and came back for them when I had more money. I don't really shop there anymore though, too many bad experiences.

this should be a thread by itself lol

Jason Abbadon 12-29-2011 02:13 AM

AT my target, I was considering buying an Aqua Droid and decided against it so I put it on a Cap peg out of laziness....
and it's still there, two week's later.

Good stocking, target- small wonder they dont have the new wave out with such a crack team in the toy dept.

iLegends73 12-29-2011 02:17 AM

but to stay on point (i just really read the thread name lol) i finally saw the DD/BE comic pack today....but it was in some guys cart. never have i wanted to drop kick someone that hard in my life lol. but im getting out of the MU game so its cool. but it would look gud MOC

side note. if anyone wants to drop gambit then shoot me a pm. i got tons of stuff to trade

D00MTR0N 12-29-2011 12:50 PM

too bad sinister and thanos dont come in a pack.

Jason Abbadon 12-29-2011 03:49 PM

They should make a villians set to match that Wal mart boxed set- six villians or so in a box would rock.

I'd buy that as long as there were some new figures introduced.
