Now that John Carter is out on dvd I decided to give it a shot, since it is petty to judge a movie without seeing it (but I will say that some movies aren't worth the trouble). I'm watching it right now, and it is pretty good so far.

John Carter is a prime example of an advertizing machine royally screwing over a movie. A prime example of how poor marketing can utterly destroy something that by all right should be a massive success.

I just finished it, and it was very good. I'm sorry that I was so doubtful in the past, but it was presented in such a bland way, and the title "John Carter" didn't help. I mean seriously, from what I remember of the trailers/commercials of this film, it was basically just thrown out into the world as if we'd watch it just because people pay to see things. Good flick though. Sorry proteus!

Saw this in the theaters when it first came out and loved it, picked up the Blu Ray last week, still love it, have since watched 3 more times! its a must own IMO for sci fi fans, I wish they made figures for this movie as well, I'd also a few more movies to follow, the comic series is pretty good, princess of mars, warlord of mars....too bad it didn't do well enough for disney to make another one
