I have been getting more enthusiastic about TFs again with TF Prime ... and have really been considering some of the 3rd party stuff ... none of the gestalts because im not filty rich ... but just some of the cheaper packs and assecories ... anyone else been tempted?

bmorr 04-20-2012 09:04 AM

if i have the extra $$$ i would personally get some of the older classics toys.

Sadly, 3 of those members are gone over silly things [keep in touch with 2 of the 3] and all the "oldschool regulars" are just vanishing then I would be here left alone to rule and conquer! I am however getting into model kits though, like this:

Haven't pulled the trigger yet, should I?!?!

Yes:P

A little bit, but than those they give you stickers that you have to put on, so was kind of a turn off for me. Stick to Hasbro Prime, they've been great so far.

Then there's the Galahad, thing started at 90$ it's not 330$ it's giant, but not near worth that much.

Symbiote, which gundam is 25$ is it a damashii?

We didn't see one for $25 shipped, we are looking for one $25 shipped, a kit though, not something prebuilt

So I was thinking about getting this bad boy
ZERO
But I'd want a megaman to go with it. But full armor and sdcc just look meh to me. And lord know im not paying for and original release x. thoughts?

I think they'll rerelease him, if not there's the comic exclusive version, if you can find it, and this one.

They have him relatively cheap still, and they are great people.

I want to buy a few Transformers Prime figures (no, I still haven't seen Soundwave) as they are on sale this week but I can't decide which Bumblebee to get (First edition or Robots in Disguise). Any suggestions?

Your pretty limited now, the First Edition BB is probably long gone, The RID (regular) BB is meh to me. If you insist on BB then grab it, you may like it. I recommend Ratchet, Wheeljack, Arcee, and Cliffjumper for the "deluxe/revealer" class. Soundwave is good, but for some reason I'm not fully into him... with Ratchet easily the best.

Now I can wholeheartedly recommend Cyberverse Commander Class Megatron, Bulkhead, Optimus, and Starscream. They are only 9-10 bucks each and just incredible figures!

Cyberverse Legends Class (now called Legion) has a really nice Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Vehicon. Good to fiddle with on the desk.

The next waves should be showing up and if so grab deluxe/revealer Vehicon for sure, what an impressive looking figure (I say impressive looking because I don't have him in hand, but will troop build him).

Just get them all:P
Target has their own $4 off coupon that expire tomorrow. I have an extra SW PM if interested. You can still get the wave 1-2 currently, and 3 is on it's way out very soon.

BigHanksCustoms 04-20-2012 02:46 PM

As for me:

Marvel Legends Dragon Man, loose/complete and as mint as you can get for a loose figure. Well over $200, but I can make a few installments layaway style.

So I ask, should I get it? Even though I most likely will....... :D

The local TRU has like 20 of the first edition Bumblebee figures still and he looks like the better of the two but I wasn't sure as they are so similar. Cliffjumper and Wheeljack I already picked up today but those and the two Bumblebee figures are all they have outside of the Voyager and multpacks.

First Edition by a mile then my man. By a mile.

I'm not a fan, so I wouldn't. I don't think that sculpt for a bit of an obscure character to be worth it.

Aren't you one of our premier customizers? I'm surprised you haven't made one that surpassed this already!

I didn't know I was premier,lol! **flatterred**

Truthfully, I'm not really even into the Fantastic Four, but something just draws me to that figure, for a couple years now. I think I'll buy it, then when the thrill is gone I'll sell it off. Seems to hold value.

I would like to make a MU scaled one, even started scoping out parts (Thinking SpiderMan 3.75 Rhino, a random "how to train your dragon figure for the wings tail, toy architectural gargoyle for the head, etc...)

I prefer the overall proportions of the First Edition, myself.
All of the First Edition toys are pretty spectacular, really. Starscream is a must, unless you'd prefer to wait for the larger Voyager version.

I agree with you there, glad I snatched those up asap on Ebay when they announced the cancellation of the entire line, would have preferred retail, but I passed Arcee, BB and SW when I saw them first:(

Iceman 04-20-2012 03:21 PM

That settles it then, I'll pick up the First Edition one. I thought it looked better but since the RID one is newer I thought maybe it was improved somehow.

True, but it sometimes takes a while to sell, would you think you'd like your custom more?

It also seems you've liked it for quite some time, so it's not a bad idea.

Do you think if you waited a cheaper one, or an auction, would come around?

Saw the Marvel Knights motion comics at Wal-Mart earlier in the week for like 5 bucks a piece. So to you my fellow Arkers I ask are they any good?

Tiberius 04-20-2012 11:10 PM

I didn't like any of them. Not saying the story was bad I just couldn't get past the animation.

snake5289 04-20-2012 11:20 PM

I saw part of the Astonishing X-Men thing on Youtube a while back. I don't remember much but it wasn't great but it wasn't terrible and I loved the comics. Too bad they didn't just use normal animation for a movie like the DC animated movies. I guess it'll depend on my mood when I go back up there.

I've seen the free deadspace animated comics, I didn't hate them at all. I liked the fact that they voiced over characters. So I guess if they do that and you like it go for it. But I'd see if they get any cheaper. Hide them under a shelving unit.

Colder Soldier 04-21-2012 08:36 AM

He should be getting cheaper. I see him all over up here. Have picked up several for Arkers and such from Winners for like $7.99.
