I'd buy it

I wouldn't. He is too busy.

Same here at least it would be a bony Doomsday

Awe man Mattel, you had one job, ONE JOB!!!!

Look what I just saw:

I don't know if I want this Superman anymore. $30 was already expensive for a repaint, but the fact he is missing the S on the cape is just insulting. They finally got an accurate color and now they mess this up? WTF?!

I'm guessing these guys won't sell that well, and we'll see them show up at Big Lots or Ollie's across the country. Maybe then I'll buy one. And I get that SP enthusiasts would want the S on the cape, but 1) it always seemed stupid to me. I don't see Batman with his logo on his cape! and 2) if I get him, I'm not gonna have him with his back out in my display, so I'm alright with it. Plus, for the people who keep these MIB, you're never gonna see his back anyways!

Nymesys Prime 07-22-2014 11:37 AM

uh..why does New 52 DD have ram horns?? damn DC couldn't leave well enough alone!!
I aint gonna never have an accurate Boned DD at this rate!

Tiberius 07-22-2014 12:26 PM

Well... there is a DC Superheros one.... even though it's small as shit lol.

jwyss234 07-22-2014 12:56 PM

BBTS just put up a preorder for a 7" Michael Keaton Batman by NECA. It's a video game appearance figure so he's all purple and blue but I'd say we'll see one in regular colors. Now if they can just do a Nicholson Joker I'll be set.

I find Superman's red underwear stupid, but that is not the point. The point is, the S is there in the comics, it is there on every rerelease of this damn toy Mattel has done over the last 6 years, it should be on THIS damn toy too!!!

I don't care about the Super Powers accuracy, I care about him being accurate to the comics. And the blue on this version is just that, accurate to the comics.

Does he have his logo on his cape in the comics?

Again, it's about comic accurate. How would you like it if they took Batman and decided to turn his bat insignia green on a toy just because?

Nevertheless, this just goes to show how little Mattel gives a damn about DC these days.

BTW, I have never seen any Matty toys at a Big Lots ever.

Unlucky. Lots of people found MOTUC and Ghostbusters.

I'm not saying he DOES and that his figure SHOULD, I'm saying it'd be silly if he did. I always thought the S on Supe's cape was silly anyways, but more power to you if you want it, Kain. The only character who's front/back logo I really like is Spider-Man... and 90's Superboy. :D

how many times does Mattel have to mess up before people realize they do not know what they are doing

I saw someone brought this up, so I borrowed some pictures from NECA's site so you could see the figure here. I've never been on this forum before, but I love what NECA does and you all deserve to enjoy it too.

News: just read on Twitter from NECA, they will not be making this figure again in regular colors. NES/Genesis game colors ONLY, though NECA says if you really want a movie colored one, it's an easy repaint.

Yup, likely because of Mattel. Mattel probably has the sole rights to make toys in the smaller scales (3.75"-6") based on the movie... though NECA found a loophole by saying this one in particular is based on the video game which was based on the movie. Pretty slick.

I'm just guessing, of course. Looks good regardless. I'm tempted to buy one for the very purpose of repainting it.

Ravenxl7 07-22-2014 04:03 PM

It's bright neon purple, but that looks pretty cool. It's just too bad they can't use the sculpt for a movie accurate version. It's not like Mattel or DCC will ever do one in the 6"-7" scale. I might not get it, but I have a friend that will absolutely love this.

The BBTS listing mentioned that the cape is removable. Looks like the cowl is a part of that. I wonder how accurate his headsculpt is. Can't be any worse than Mattel's version.

JangonateTK421 07-22-2014 05:59 PM

That mask really does look removable. SDCC will reveal all!

Up next from Neca...7" Superman from the award winning videogame Superman 64!

NECA's head sculpt is usually scary good (like Hot Toys good but way less expensive). Although I'm not sure that they have Keaton's likeness rights, if they don't have those, NECA wouldn't even want to give it another face.

I would hope not, this line is for classic video game appearances (8 or 16 bit) so pretty much NES and Genesis games based on movies that NECA already has permission to use. That and, you know, the part where Superman64 was one of the worst games ever.

Well, NECA snuck a Keaton head underneath the 1/4 scale figure unpainted. Maybe they'll sneak it under this one, too.

And I shouldn't have brought up Superman 64. For me the hurt is still too near. Worst video game ever doesn't even describe how incredibly bad it was. The rings! Fly through the rings!

Today is Motu errr Mattypalooza what are the bets that this statement is made "It's a great time to be DC fan with Mattel" but the only mention of 4H stuff will be about the Superpowers stuff and Damien Robin

They probably will, but that kinda statement is the go-to thing to say durring any panel like this. I'm not sure I would say that it's "great", but I certainley believe it to be a good time... Well... not for those that only collect 6" DC figures and don't care for the Total Heroes stuff...

I can't imagine that they would really have anything else to talk about when it comes to 4H DC stuff.

CMIII 07-25-2014 12:29 PM

That "It's a great time" was a press release that Mattel put out at Toyfair back in March. Most who have the 4H stuff have opted out of the Total Heroes either out of Spite or not wishing to start over for it to end in 6 months. To be up front I was execpting to hear Total Heroes was done due to low sales

Dr Kain 07-25-2014 02:29 PM

The only upcoming release that looks like it will be worth anything is surprisingly that TH Batman Beyond. I just don't get why they couldn't go all out on him like that when he was part of the Classics line.

En Sabah Nerd 07-25-2014 05:53 PM

Got my first DC toy today. I was in Hastings and they were having a 25% off sale on action figures and I saw this guy and couldn't resist. He was 24.95 but after sale was only 18.71, really love the detail and heft to this figure.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfa8c6033.jpg
This could be the start of a small collection or just a one time deal, dunno. Either way I'm glad I have Croc.

That would have required Mattel to do more with the DC stuff then MOTU although that was Wave 4 so that was what 2008 or 2009 so then they did care about DC Stuff so

En Sabah I picked up Superboy Prime DC allstars wave 1 for about that price
