Good news! The next waves of Transformers Dark of the Moon Deluxes has hit retail in Canada. Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wave 4 - Cyberfire Bumblebee and Specialist Ratchet - have been spotted by Cybertron.CA member jacobot at the TRU Brampton in Ontario.

But more importantly, Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wave 5 is also showing up at Canadian retail! Not even out in the US yet, but Darksteel, Air Raid and Autobot Armor Topspin have appeared in Ontario and Quebec at Zellers and TRU stores. You can thank Cybertron.CA member Cloudhopper and TFW member Megatroptimus for that sighting.

Check out the original sighting report over at Cybertron.CA! Hopefully a US retail sighting will follow shortly. And hey, to pass the time until they hit US retail (and to whet your appetite for these new toys) check out our Darksteel and Air Raid galleries!

Here's an interesting little observation passed along by Automaton Toys over on our sister site Cybertron.CA. On the recently released Transformers Chronicle reissues, the inner flaps depict some different Dark of the Moon / Generation 1 toy combinations. Optimus Prime's Chronicle release shows Dark of the Moon and Generation 1 Ratchet, while Megatron's box flaps show Dark of the Moon and Generation 1 Shockwave! Could this be indication of future reissues in the Transformers Chronicle line and the fulfillment of many a fan's earnest desire to own an original Shockwave, or merely a cruel glimpse at a possibility that may never come to pass?

One thing is for sure - if there is any further news, we'll have an update for you right here on the TFW frontpage. Watch this space.

R.I.P. Gary Clark, aka Optimus Scourge

Originally posted by: Tony_Bacala @ TFW2005.com

On Wednesday, September 28th, the TFW2005 family lost one of their own. Gary Clark, aka Optimus_Scourge, a former moderator and former photo staff member of TFW2005.COM, as well as a current moderator on our sister site ToyArk.com, passed away suddenly at his home. He was 34 years old.

He is survived by his wife and longtime TFW2005 member Luisa ("Arcee"), as well as his two sons.

Gary had a passion for Transformers and G.I. Joe. The only thing that seemed to surpass it was his passion for helping his friends and others in the collector community. Gary was always ready to meet someone new with a smile on his face and share his passion of collecting with others. The news of his passing comes as a total shock for countless members who had not only spoken to him recently, but had seen him at the last New Jersey Collectors Convention (NJCC) in April, and had planned to see him again in the next couple of weeks at the next NJCC.

Gary started as everyone does here at TFW2005 as a member. Over time he quickly gained the reputation of having a level-head, being incredibly friendly, and very out-going. Over the course of many years, he attended several BotCon conventions and became a close friend to many of us on staff. He became a moderator but his passion didn't stop there, and he also became a member of our Photo Staff. Due to circumstances beyond his control, Gary scaled back his participation from the site but could never let go completely, and was currently an acting moderator at our sister site, TOYARK.COM. He participated in numerous Transformers-related podcasts over the last few years.

Gary also met the love of his life on our forums, Luisa ("Arcee"), kindling their relationship at OTFCC 2004 and eventually getting married. To this day they hold the distinct title of being the first and only real-life love story to have happened thanks to TFW2005.COM.

Funeral services for Gary Clark will be held at The Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home in Marlboro, Massachusettes. The service will start at 1pm on Sunday, October 2nd. For more information, please check the following link:

The Fizgerald & Collins Funeral Home

In these hard economic times the cost of putting to rest our loved ones can make things even more difficult than they already are. Gary's widow Luisa ("Arcee", a long time member of TFW2005) has set up a PayPal account for anyone willing to send donations to help cover the major expenses (totaling in excess of $10,000 just for funeral costs alone). TFW2005.COM is not directly connected to this PayPal account but supports the reason for its creation and supports the cause. Gary did not have any life insurance, thus all expenses must be paid out of pocket.

To send a donation via PayPal, be sure to select the option of GIFT, and send any amount to the following addres: rip.garydclark@yahoo.com

The entire staff of TFW2005.COM sends their sincerest respects and condolences to Luisa and Gary's family. We invite all of our members and guests reading this to share any memories they have of Gary in the current discussion thread. While we mourn his passing, Gary will never truly be gone as long as we never forget him.

Rest in Peace, Gary. And thank you for the memories.

The latest assortment of Transformers Dark of the Moon toys has hit Japan, and with them comes a catalog showing some upcoming releases. One of the upcoming releases is DA-34 Leadfoot, a Japan-only single pack release of the Deluxe class toy that is slated for a Target exclusive two pack in the US. This image from a Japanese image board indicates that like the Human Alliance toy in Japan, the Japanese single pack deluxe will be a plain red car - no sponsor markings or giant target logo - not even a big Autobot logo to balance it out!

TakaraTomy Dark of the Moon Wave 6 & Campaign

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

We've got a selection of news bits from Japan courtesy of Masabon today, as today is the release day for Takara-Tomy's sixth wave of Dark of the Moon toys!

First up, in hand images of the Japanese version of Human Alliance Leadfoot, who lacks the sponsor details - not just the Target logos, but all the rest, too, right down to the numbers on the doors.

Today also sees the release of the new Takara-Tomy Dark of the Moon MechTech campaign. Three items were released:

Starscream's Null Ray Sword, limited to 6'000 pieces, was available at Toys R Us Japan
Bumblebee's Plasma Blaster Cannon was available at Yodobashi Camera.
Barricade's MechTech gatling claw was available at Bic Camera (not pictured)

All three were apparently limited to 20 pieces per store, available with a purchase of 3000 yen or more on Transformers Dark of the Moon merchandise. They all sport that sharp looking black and silver deco, too.

Lastly the new releases include a catalog, which gives some future release dates for upcoming toys, include Wheeljack and Soundwave!

>November
DD-09 Human Alliance Soundwave 6300yen
DA-28 Striker Optimus Prime 9240yen
DA-33 Seeker Air Raid (Hasbro's Air Raid) 2730yen
DA-34 Deluxe Leadfoot 2730yen
CV-26 Cyberverse Soundwave 714yen

>December
DD-13 Deluxe Soundwave 2730yen
DA-31 Autobot Que 2730yen

Yes, you read that correctly - in Japan, he's going to be called Que, not Wheeljack! Could this be clearing the way to call the alternate head version Wheeljack later on, or merely keeping in step with the movie's dialogue?

Upgrade Commander have put up some new images of the upcoming Maketoy Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime upgrade set. These images show off the full extend of the upgrade, showing both the beefed up robot mode and the massive weapons harness that the rest of the trailer forms. A new feature is also revealed - a shot of the back of the robot shows a cable running from a backpack into the clear red sword - could this release have a light-up sword in the style of the original Laser Optimus Prime?

Click on the link above to check out the images. The page also gives a prospective price of 7,999 yen - about $100 at current exchange rates - and a potential release date of November. Take this with a pinch of salt of course - release dates can slip, and the price might not be finalized yet.

Maketoys Giant, Hover and Bomber Updates - Fa

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

Following on from our fresh look at the Maketoy Tanker Trailer earlier, Maketoy have updated their website with new images of Giant, including a clear look at the first of the six Giant members. Details on pricing, release and colors for Giant have been revealed.

The six tall smaller robots who make up Giant will be sold in packs of two, retailing for 10'500 yen. That works out at about $136 based on the current exchange rate. The first set of two is due out in December, with more releases to follow in January and February. A giftset containing all six releases is set for a February release, priced at 31'500 yen or $410.

The only kicker though - it'll be a yellow version, not the traditional Constructicon green. So for the moment Giant is going to be a Generation 2 unofficial Devastator.

Details have also been released for the Bomber and Hover mini robots, these are also confirmed to be in a pack of two and are slated for October. They are sized at 8cm tall and priced at 3'150 yen, or a little over $40.

Click on the link above for the original source and to check out the new Giant images. Note also the strange, Fallen-esque looking guy chilling in the back of the group shot. Hmmmm...

In just a few short days TFW2005 will be holding it's first ever official "Member Meet Up" on October 8th, 2011 (that isn't attached to a Botcon, that is http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/images/smilies/smile.gif). This will be on a Saturday night, the night before New Jersey Collectors Con in south New Jersey. It will take place at RED HOT & BLUE and starts at 8 PM. It is free for everyone, adults over 21 only (it is a bar). A live Blues band will be playing, the place serves food and it is a full service bar.

There will be door prizes given away throughout the night as well, in both Transformers and G.I. Joe flavors. Speaking of Joe, this isn't just for TFW2005, but the whole 2005 family, so HissTank and Toyark regulars will be in attendance too.

Also running during the party, for those that want to float around while drinking, will be the V.I.P. screening of a new G.I. Joe fan film, "Operation Retrieval". It will be on continuous loop all night in an area where you can hear it. You can see a trailer for it after the break.

So, if you are in the New York, New Jersey, Philly areas, try and come down the night before NJCC and hang out with the TFW2005 crew. It would be great to put faces to all those names! If it works out, we'll do more!

New Jersey Collectors Con takes place the next day, Sunday October 9th, 2011, in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Check the website for details.

See you all there!
