I don't think I've mentioned this here, but I'm currently reading X of Swords and this arc is really testing my patience as I just don't get what the purpose of it is. The first quarter was spent having characters acquire these swords that was for apparently no god damn reason whatsoever. Like British Psylocke dies within 3 panels of her fight.
After that, the whole tournament has been full of randomized crap like weddings, arm wrestling matches, races, drinking contests, staring contests, etc. WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING??????? It's like someone at Marvel had just watched Dragonball Super and said, "Hey, this tournament arc sucks ass, I bet I can make something worse!" And then they went ahead and did it. So far I do not feel there is any payoff for reading through all of the Dawn of X books. Whatever happened to the Brood? Magik, Cyclops, and a few others ended an X-Men issue in space facing the Brood and then they were back on Earth for this tournament thing. I have no idea what any of this has to do with Shaw's bootlegging business or the cultists who peeled off Domino's skin to infiltrate Krokoa. Or what it has to do with the Plants vs Aliens storyline. This entire arc seems to only line up with Excalibur instead of the entire series of books and that makes it even more frustrating. There was no reason this needed to be an entire X-Men universe story and be 23 chapters because only half of the 19 I have read so far has any value to it. |

I'm definitely not feeling the plugging of Dr. Strange's cape into what would be the breast bone making it non-removable. I suppose I understand the aesthetic rationale; anchor the cape at Eye of Agamotto for a more satisfyingly accurate look that doesn't float off the chest or rest askew of center. However, not realizing the design decision, I popped the head off and attempted remove the body from the packaging separately (as I typically do with caped figures, leaving the cape in the package to be removed from the back to avoid damage) only realizing after a couple of significant tugs that it was attached. Needless to say, I partially separated the cape from where it's plugged and it's noticeable to my eye now. To make matters slightly worse, there is visible glue slop where the cape meets the chest and it isn't isolated to the EofA, rather, it runs along the length of where the cape rests on the chest. Thank goodness I ordered two, as Hasbro unintentionally set up a boobytrap for me. Additionally, Strange's head and neck peg are a bit funky in that if you push the head on too tightly, his head can seem sunken into his shoulders. But I believe that Hasbro intentionally built that in as a bit of play in the neck to accommodate the cape's cowl and provide a more natural and functional look.
The long and the short - be careful when removing Strange from the packaging. |

Also, looking at my amassed parts for Rintrah, Hasbro has crafted the structure for Gorgon's legs. A little tooling to the mold while adhering to the the general mechanics paves the way for a trickier member of the royal family of the House of Agon. I hope this portends the arrival of the Inhumans.

If anyone needs the Ben Reilly Spider-Man Retro figure or the Symbiote Spider-Man Retro figure, Amazon has them up now at the normal $22.99 price! Just click the links below.
Retro Symbiote: https://www.amazon.com/spider-man-ma...ransformers-20 Retro Ben: https://www.amazon.com/spider-man-ma...ransformers-20 I'm curious to see what all gets revealed by Hasbro for new Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures this year. I'd love to see another civilian figure or two, and at least one or two more members of the classic Sinister Six re-made/re-released like Vulture, Doctor Octopus, and/or Kraven. |
^^ Thanks! I was able to snag the Symbiote.

My paint job on the left, a friends vinyl on the right. I'm proud of my attempt but the vinyl is so much cleaner. Just waiting on a 3D printed helmet to arrive and complete the Maker!

As far as other versions of those characters that have never been made into figures, I'd also love to see them make new figures of Doc Ock in his white Armani suit figure, Vulture and Electro in their costumes from Mark Millar's "Marvel Knights: Spider-Man" run, and Sandman in his green armored costume from when he was on the Frightful Four. Heck, even lesser-known costumes for Sinister Six characters would make great figures, like Sandman's green-and-yellow costume and Mysterio's '90s costume during Ben Reilly's tenure as Spider-Man. |
Yeah, what ]A[ said. Your post read as if Hasbro has never released those three at all in their classic forms.
I just want them to do a new Doc Ock that has bendy wire tentacles and is compatible with the previously released version. Not sure I would bother with Sandman in that awful green armored suit but I might be interested in the younger version of Vulture that was featured in the cartoon. |
Armored sandman?

I still don't get why you guys thought I meant first-time ever figures for Vulture, Doc Ock and Kraven, but regardless, I edited my previous post to avoid confusion and just move on.
@Dr Kain: Young Vulture would be a nice update. Hasbro could even made a new Scorpia figure and an updated Beetle for Sinister Seven collectors. And of course, I wouldn't mind a new Hobgoblin figure getting re-made (hmm... re-re-made?) a few years from now, as a lot of folks aren't exactly fond of the look of the current Retro figure. Personally, I still think the old Toy Biz figure is the best Hobgoblin figure we've ever gotten, but that's just me. @Harbinger: This is the armored Sandman look I was referring to. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AOBX071L23...der-man%2B.jpg That said, I hope we get a new classic Sandman figure in a few years or so on a bigger body mold with the thinner stripes on Sandman's shirt. I know a lot of folks weren't happy with the current Retro Sandman figure and I wouldn't mind buying a new Sandman again whenever they do. https://comixi.ru/wp-content/uploads...an-570x530.jpg |
If we get an armored Sandman, I feel like it would only be done to complete and Fearsome Four Lineup. Should Hasbro put out a Wizard, I'd get him for no other reason than to hope for that team. I sold off my Medusa a few years ago, but I would try to pick her back up if we were getting that team. Trapster/Paste Pot Pete would be a welcome addition as well.
