Did anyone else notice in the description for the Doc Ock and Silk two-pack on ToyArk's main page article that Silk has an alternate unmasked head? It seems that Doc Ock might have an alternate head and hands too, though it just says "alternate head and hand accessories" for Ock while Silk's says "includes alternate masked head and alternate hands accessories". It's a little confusing, as it sounds like the alternate head and hands for Doc Ock are what we're seeing in the render photo. The two-pack is sold out for now, but I might end up pre-ordering it somehow. I know, I complained about it a lot yesterday, but hearing about the alternate head and hands has me curious to see how they'll turn out. I'm hoping for an alternate smiling smugly Doc Ock alternate head, but I won't get that lucky.

DarthKamen 03-17-2022 02:27 PM

I assume the alternate Ock head will just be a repack of the single carded version.

Honestly, unless the set makes it to clearance, I guess Superior Octopus will be my only Otto still.

Back when I ordered Nova from Walgreens' website it got delivered in like two days, for Zemo fedex apparently felt the need to remind me how wonky they can be. Moving past the delayed delivery and on to the figure itself though, it's great but could've been a tad better. The inclusion of a pistol and at least one trigger hand would have been nice, really just the trigger hand would do since I've got a decent amount of 1/12 scale sci-fi type pistols already that could have worked. The knees are also on the gummy side, not terribly so but I picked up on it. Everything else is aces though. Great headsculpt, clean paint, nice sturdy plastic on the sword, and just overall the classic Helmut Zemo I had on my wishlist.

Dr Kain 03-17-2022 10:12 PM

Wasn't there supposed to be a reveal today?

Cyclopswc 03-18-2022 06:26 AM

So I'm getting ready to add Zemo to my Hydra display, honestly though, I don't know much about the character. And the decades of history on Wikipedia is just too confusing. This is Helmut Zemo, right? What's his relationship like with Red Skull? Are they equals? Rivals? Partners? Megatron and StarScream? Thanks for the help.

It varies just depending on the era.. I know strucker and skull were allies back in the day. I think zemo is more his own branch of hydra and occasionally allies with skull.

Aside from the Silk/Ock pack from yesterday, I haven't heard about any new reveals. Although, the Legends team said they would be doing a presentation around the 20th of each month. Since the 20th is Sunday, I'm assuming we're getting some kind of event on Monday. I haven't seen anything announced yet, however. Either way, at 1:00 I'll be checking Pulse, just in case.

To me, while they are both Hydra, I never saw them as allies. It seems like they kind of plot against each other. They have a mutual hatred for Captain America. I have them both on my Captain America shelf, so there's that. Zemo is legitimately one of my favorite Marvel villains.

My Zemo has one eye stamped on his forehead. And he's sold out (of course). Sooooooo irritating. In the process of repainting it but, I have to match the maroon used on his eyelids.

Sheesh, that might be worse than having missed out on the preorder like I did.

Rather than painting over the misapplied eye, try 3000 grit sand paper.

Baron Heinrich Zemo is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and first made a cameo appearance in The Avengers #4 (March 1964), before officially being introduced in The Avengers #6 (July 1964). He was retroactively added into the history of Captain America upon the superhero's reintroduction in the Silver Age of Comics two issues prior. Baron Zemo is a Nazi scientist and the founder and original leader of the Masters of Evil, and is commonly depicted as one of the greatest enemies of Captain America and the Avengers. He is the twelfth Baron Zemo in his family lineage, and his legacy is continued by his son, Helmut Zemo.

This figure is Helmut Zemo, even the bio on the back of the box clarifies this. The dead giveaway is that the mask is shaped to his head and not just a loose hood like his father wore. Heinrich never had anything to do with Hydra, he lived and died as a Nazi. Helmut never properly affiliated with Hydra until 2011, he might have worked alongside them at some point prior but nothing significant. He worked with Red Skull once too (via Skull's daughter) but this was also before Red Skull affiliated with Hydra since they weren't Nazi enough for him. Helmut's main affiliations back in the day were just himself, the Masters of Evil (first version to actually beat the Avengers), and later the Thunderbolts.

See, nothing from that Wikipedia excerpt tell me about his relationship with Red Skull and Hydra. I'm trying to figure out if he should stand next to, behind, or facing against Red Skull on the Hydra shelve!

I would say next to or behind if you're putting him in proximity of Red Skull on the shelf. They've never been opposed but they don't see eye to eye and of course Red Skull is the overall more iconic villain for Captain America.

They probably would try to kill each other to decide who gets to kill Cap.

I got Morlun today off Amazon for 2 cents. Yes, 2 cents. Okay, it was technically $12.64, but I had $12.62 in rewards point.

I like seeing customs!

I was totally disappointed to see there's no stream until April and all we got in terms of reveals for this month was X-Men TAS Jean. I get why people like that stuff. The shading doesn't do it for me, but it's a great chance to get a character who was only available in a 3 pack.

My retro Spider-Man preorders arrived from Pulse last week. I didn't like the head on Hobogoblin. I was delighted to see the head wasn't glued to the hood. I had a fodder Toy Biz Hobgoblin head laying around. After a little drilling, I got it to fit on both the retro body and the Space Venom wave body. I'm loving the results!
