My position on the Legends' 20th anniversary Hulk has definitely softened since the final product started showing up but at the same time I'm definitely not getting one (unless he winds up on a major sale) since I've already got 80th Hulk, Grey Hulk, and DST's latest Hulk and this one doesn't beat any of those for me. I guess Grey Hulk shouldn't be brought up in comparison but the point is I'm set on Hulk until someone does an actual Immortal Hulk.

The latest Diamond Select Hulk is Immortal Hulk...

They labelled it as such but it is not, it's clearly a more traditional take on the character. Diamond even originally solicited it as "Rampaging Hulk" but changed it to "Immortal Hulk" shortly before release. Rampaging was definitely the more fitting title since that was a magazine that ran in the late '70s and the figure's alternate Cosmic Hulk head depicts a character that was also from the late '70s. A proper Immortal (or Devil) Hulk would have had significantly shorter hair worn like a crop cut, a more pronounced brow, and a larger mouth with a psychotic grin or at least an alternate head featuring one.

Anyway, to answer your question, no, they don't because there are no video sellers at all at the con this year.

Haha. Well that stinks. Thanks for the info.

It's because the outlets went to Sakuracon, which makes sense given how big that convention is.

MeLikeJinx 04-18-2022 07:46 AM

Ummm... you guys realize the PS3 and PS4 can play blurays right? LOL.

Anyway...

I really hadn't planned on buying any figs from that Thor movie wave, but good lord... that trailer right there is my jam. I know a lot of people didn't care for the tone of Ragnarok, but I loved it. It will take all my strenght to not buy any of those figs now.

I do. I dont use my gaming consoles for anything but gaming. Using them as multimedia devices decreases their lifespan as movies and games run at different speeds and laser sizes.

Actually, I can assure you that that is no longer the case. Until I got a 4K player in the middle of 2020, the PS3 was my central Blu-Ray and DVD player since 2009 and it is still going strong even to this day. In fact, I feel the PS3 was the most reliable BD player on the market because it run so much better than any stand alone machine I had seen. Hell, my first 4K player's HDR setting crapped out after 7 months.

Gor also kinda looks like bub the zombie from day of the dead.

Captain Nash 04-18-2022 09:17 AM

What a great teaser trailer. Not as amazing as Ragnaroks, but I consider that movie's first trailer among the finest trailers ever made.

Seeing more closeups of the figures, I miiiiiiiight get Gor. But possibly not, and that's it for sure.

warmachine6 04-18-2022 09:48 AM

Not a huge fan of the colour scheme for armoured thor, though in the trailer he seems to change his suits alot

Tony stark had a bad influence on Thor. ;)

TheBlueMarvel 04-18-2022 10:01 AM

They can keep them in the box.

ThorOdinson123 04-18-2022 11:00 AM

Funko did a slightly better job with Gorr than Marvel Legends did

^not really. That's not Gorr either. I'm not sure why the MCU would remove the tentacles and add a more human looking nose/maw to the character. I suppose they may have wanted to create some distinction between SW Twi'leks and Gorr.

And that's exactly the reason I'm on the fence about even this one figure. It's such a different look from the comic version it's hard to even consider it's (a different universe version of) the same character.

Tell me about it, I was trying to imagine a use as well. It doesn't look like anything notable that might lend to re-use. It does, however, look like Christian Bale, which deepens the re-use conundrum.

MeLikeJinx 04-18-2022 06:48 PM

^ If you chop of the nose he kinda looks like the Harry Potter bad guy... or maybe the old guy in Prometheus.

Toad. Yeesh: https://marvelousnews.com/252-30545

At least he isn’t on the Doc Ock body.

Plastic-less packaging debuted, what are everyone’s thoughts?

Edit: Google “Toad Marvel.” First picture is clearly the reference art for the figure. Another wonderful case of Hasbro using the first picture they found off the internet.

ThorOdinson123 04-19-2022 08:40 AM

Retro Lizard looks great

MeLikeJinx 04-19-2022 08:51 AM

Toad looks good to me? I hate the windowless boxes though... but I like that it discourages MOC/MIB collectors and basically forces you to open it just to check if the fig is actually in there or not. I think the new boxes may actually discourage scalping too a bit.

Dude, the Spider-Man stuff is the happiest I’ve been about ML reveals in ages. So many instant pre-orders. The AF 15# Spider-Man is a work of art. And man, Lizard’s silver age headsculpt is perfect. The modern Spider-Man & Spinneret set is fantastic, I love how many different Mary Jane Watson figures I have. Her relationship with Pete was always my favorite part of the comics.

Toad loses me on the headsculpts, and he’s too gangly for silver/ bronze age Toad.

Edit: I’d be so down for a specifically John Romita Spider-Man on the same body as AF 15# Spidey.
