That's pretty innovative for it's time. :)

wolverine2281 04-17-2012 03:13 AM

I don't think we have that store here. :] Great gems you got there, though!

wolverine2281 04-17-2012 03:20 AM

Our KB shut down years ago

wolverine2281 04-17-2012 03:22 AM

The best part is the 3/$10 price tags

thechris 04-17-2012 03:25 AM

Haha, wow, those look absolutely insane!!!

wolverine2281 04-17-2012 03:31 AM

tgbobafett 04-17-2012 05:12 AM

Didn't buy any, but has anyone bought any of the new Avengers scratch offs at their local convenient stores yet?? Each one has a different character on it from the movie heh

A "Spider-Bat"...WTF?

Seeing these makes me think of this hilarious (and incredibly inappropriate) Marvel Transformer....its the only gun they didn't think to check Frank for....

The Marvel Shape Shifters were done by Toy Biz long before Hasbro did Crossovers. IIRC, they were KB Toys exclusives in the United States and did not do very well (as shown by that price tag).

I remember back then Marvel fans didn't like them (little to no articulation to the figures, unless it was due to the transformations, sculpts were ruined by the gimmick, etc, etc.) and Transformers fans didn't like them because they weren't TFs and treated them like knock-offs. In my personal opinion, they were worse than Crossovers. Look at poor Morph - he shoots a missile out his ass!

Of course, now they're a great little novelty, especially as a precursor to Crossovers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guys who worked on the Shape Shifters ended up working on Crossovers too.

On a side note, KB itself went out of business for good about 2-3 years ago.

Peteparker 04-17-2012 08:47 AM

They're so terrible. Either Morph or Iron Man got the worst of it.

It's almost like they weren't even trying, making Rhino into a Rhino.

I'm glad someone out there enjoys them. I don't think I ever would. ;)

avcprime 04-17-2012 08:55 AM

So was the doppleganger a clone?

Matte Rulk.

Nice Pete, ya haven't seen you pull a haul in a while.
That's why I'm feeling the new Green Hulk when it comes out, his shoulders aren't as massive as the other first Hulks that came out.

Is the Punisher one real? If so, I'm picking that sucker up. Talk about a conversation piece....

"Is there a missile launcher coming out of that guy's crouch?"

Simple answer: "Yes."

Iron Man Figure Archive

I've still got a few of the shape shifters but not that one. I think Venom, Morph, Sabretooth...

Tri-Spider Slayer - Spider-Man New Animated Series

this is what he meant, I'm pretty sure.

Yeah that's it right there, the first one that metalized. I might still have it, but
I'm not completely sure. Might have given it to the cousin.

Also that's not the spider slayer I had, mine was a black single scorpion. Although frankly my spidey figures have all disappeared... My house sucks, ha ha ha!

Oddly enough that spider bat is pretty accurate to his shinobi counterpart...

I had that, the regular one, and a metal one.
