^He says knowingly while musing, "they have no clue."
Yeah, I deal with enough borderline personality disorders in my day to day experiences without seeking out said exchanges. My, mostly, tongue in cheek curiosity is satisfied. I take your word for it, Candyman can be Hisstank's problem. |
Kinda wish the Legends team made this version of Thor in the Love and Thunder wave

We saw this happen before. Notice after the wave for the first Ant-Man movie bombed, there wasn't a follow-up for the sequel, and instead figures for that movie got folded into Infinity War's waves and eventually promotional stuff like The First Ten Years. I just have a hard time seriously believing that they'd suddenly, and without warning, drop ML altogether over that. Especially when there are other toylines that have had similar dud waves that they continue to order and display in the aisles. The only way I could seriously see this happening is if they downsized their toy section altogether, which I don't see happening. |

And we've had duds before, but Hasbro's response to not do an Antman 2 wave and to mix figures into other SKUs/DCPIs worked because there were other waves still out there on the shelf to move those figures into. Right now at Target, however, there aren't any waves currently at all, so while no one knows yet what's going on with Target this is not business as usual. I also just picked up Defender Strange at Target on Clearance now ($22, a much easier to swallow price), which is not only a Target exclusive and goes with the movie that just came out and is doing very well. So yeah, very strange indeed. |

What's odd too is that Target is carrying the smaller Thor figures, the hammer, the deluxe hammer, the Titan series figures, and the Jane thor mask, but not the Thor Marvel Legends.

So is anyone planning to get some of the Bonecrusher wave figures that doesn't want Bonecrusher?

Alternatively I've seen it pointed out that after the disaster that has been solid case packs at stores leaving such heavy overstock that has no chance of moving at full price, Target is taking the time to regroup the toy aisle and is trying to get all the random individual DCPIs cleared out (I.E. stores sitting on like 4 solid cases of just Ikaris) before restocking any more new Legends toys. |

reps at toy companies that I would skip a wave or a line that I knew was weak. Anything is possible if Buyer wants it. |
^That's pretty interesting, I was unaware retail buyers had that much leeway. I dated a media buyer years ago and assisted her in getting a promotion with suggestions regarding the 18 to 35 young adult male demo and commercial placement on Adult Swim. Until you mentioned this, I'd never really connected the two types of buyers, but it makes sense that retail buyers would have a healthy degree of autonomy, just like their media counterparts.

Hi I’m from AUS we have been paying upwards of $40 for many years now. I just got back in to Legends, really like the new sculpts and that, but when the price increases here I’m not sure I can keep collecting them. I hope to, we have a lot of great stores that carry them now so easy to get.

I like Spectre Creative's youtube channel, but that guy always admits that he is the type of person that needs attention and needs his ego fed constantly... so like... I consider his vids to be more for entertainment consumption instead of informative value.

Also Spector Creative, or rather Scott Neitlich, wasn't a Buyer ever that I know of. But in addition to making his informative yet sometimes a bit dry YouTube videos, he is actually a former Brand Manager at Mattel, known mostly for MOTU Classics, but was also in charge of the DC property during the DC Universe and DC Classics years, and that includes unfortunately the Green Lantern movie toyline. Of course he doesn't really know what's up with Target, either, I think given those highs and lows of his own experiences I feel he must have at least some insight into what it takes to cause retailers to stop wanting to carry your toys. But anyway, I'm not his publicist, people can look up his videos about it and form their own opinions. |

^ I mean his videos often times have great topics which are super relevant to my collecting habits, so his vids are always interesting... I just take everything he says with a grain of salt is all.
