Yup, my thoughts exactly. Nearly $150 out the gate. Oh well, it's not the first time I've made a poor financial decision.

Lol same here...won't be the last either.

...and for the record, it's a 3 pack.

Captain Nash 05-19-2022 11:36 AM

Tempted but passing. Not a huge mojo fan, and while I’d definitely get Longshot figure on it’s own, at this price I’m content with the Toybiz one

And yeah,definitely a three pack

To be sure- a guy over on the 'tank asked about it, and I had to put "" around four.

George Carlin must've been rolling in his grave.

Kirathis 05-19-2022 12:14 PM

Hahahaha "4" pack. That is hilarious. I am quite glad I chose to limit what I collect within Legends so I could easily avoid the temptation for that set. Firelord and animated War Machine, not so much.

Yeah, as my secondary line, the price was a bit hard to swallow, but for me, Mojo and Longshot are musts. I'll have to figure out what to do with Dazzler and the blind box style Wolverine, though. I justified it by reminding myself that I paid nearly that for Stryfe and the Apocalypse BAF not long ago.

Lord. I looked at the inventory numbers for Mojo World. There are 11,250 offered. That's CRAZY for an exclusive.

EDIT: They've already sold 7,262 units. That's even crazier.

usernamedustin 05-19-2022 12:42 PM

I already have both Dazzler figures I ever need and I don't need a HabsboKo POP! Wolverine.
So if Dazzler and Longshot are $25 each and the Wolverine is $2 (cause that is what it looks like it is worth to me), that means that Mojo is an $80 figure?
I'm not even sure if this is a better figure than the ToyBiz one.

I was expecting around $100 for the set, but this is kind of ridiculous. If they had put in Spiral instead of Dazzler, I would have been all over it and even with the price. As it is, I don't know if the cost is worth it for a small upgrade to the Toybiz figures I already have. In my opinion, Longshot was one of the very best Toybiz Legends.

My dude..."small upgrade"? Really? I get that folks think back on ToyBiz figures with fondness and nostalgia. But continually acting like they hold a candle to more contemporary figures is just...well. Not honest.

Me as well. Guess we go down the express elevator to financial ruin with all the others haha. ;)

Benn Roe 05-19-2022 03:58 PM

It likely breaks down to $70 for Mojo, a large and highly articulated, completely unique sculpt, $25 each for Dazzler, and Longshot, and $10 for Wolverine, which is in line with the sold-separately Grogu. I honestly wasn’t surprised or all that bothered by the price.

I would also imagine that the unique packaging and convention exclusivity factor into the price (at least from Hasbro's perspective).

Boogieman4hire 05-19-2022 05:25 PM

I hadn't really noticed and I hope it isn't a case of misleading sculpt but it looks like there's articulation on every joint of Mojo's spider legs. If so I can definitely appreciate that and see how that helps justify the cost on this set. Yup I buckled and decided to make this set my personal christmas present given the release date. Though it was actually Dazzler that pushed me over the edge. She was the one I was least interested in character-wise but I just really love her execution here. Her and Longshot also for some reason remind of this old animated movie Rock and Rule.

I'm not certain that it's every joint, but they did say that "it's one of the most articulated figures we've ever done if you count the legs" and "these rotate and pivot at three points on each leg", so it sounds like it to me.

I just hope said joints are tight enough to collectively support the weight of the figure.

They won't have to. If you notice on the bottom there appears to be translucent plastic cones which will keep him a little off the ground regardless. The same thing was on the original ToyBiz Mojo.

Well I'll be damned, you're right. I really oughta look more closely at these things before just pulling the trigger, eh?

TheBlueMarvel 05-19-2022 06:10 PM

There also appears to be a switch of some sort on Mojo's base. Possibly some lighting feature, but I'm uncertain as to why it would be there.

Many aspects of figure designs are difficult to discern from these renders, but I'd be quite surprised if the legs featured more than one point of articulation each.

Edit: whoops, I see the leg articulation was quoted and not speculation. Well, that's good and lends to the riser being added as a measure to prevent the joints in the tiny legs from getting loose due to supporting the oversized and, presumably, hefty figure.

Well.... Hasbro's renders often look better than the final products. I reserve my final judgement until I see them in plastic. I do not "think back on ToyBiz figures with fondness and nostalgia." Longshot is proudly displayed with my mix of contemporary Hasbro figures and customs that make up my Outback X-Men team. Longshot isn't human, so I kind of like that it looks different than the rest. Also Toybiz Mojo is absolutely disgusting, which is great, but this new one seems to be too smooth and cartoony for my tastes, but as I said, I reserve final judgement until I see them in plastic. The video from the livestream is not clear enough to give me a great look at any of them.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that the Hasbro Longshot's belt is not the right color.

How do you do this? I'm curious how close it is to selling out.

I'm not sure if Firmpulse uses the same trick, but you can see the inventory allotment by using Google's "inspect" feature.

Looks as though they've moved 7710 so far.

Edit:8237.

Yeah, this new reality is setting in pretty quickly. Ostensibly, these three figures cost $20 less than have some low end waves that retailed at $154. Let that sink in.

Has anyone in the Chicago area seen the Love & Thunder Legends in the wild?

I'm not sure how it is considered a 4 pack, but after the X-Force pack incident, I'm not taking any chances and preordered it.

Speaking of which, thanks to Ariellagunas, that nightmare of FINALLY over!!

Although I must say, the figures in this set are really really weird. Like Rictor has pinless lower legs, but not upper legs while Domino has pinless arms, yet her legs are not pinless. That just makes no sense to me. Rictor's sculpt is cool despite looking a bit too much like Fabio from the Iron Sword Nintendo cover. It's nice to finally have a Cannoball with legs. I'm just trying to decide which body I prefer. The jacket on the new one has better detailing while the white shirt on the older one matches the white of the paints better.
