Either way it’s important to still show compassion no matter how much we may disagree with someone.

Sorry, but if someone is out to harm or oppress another individual for who they are, who they love, and so on, there is no "respecting their opinion" line in the sand. Those people do not need to exist because they are unwelcomed. It's not like, "Well I think the Buffalo Bills are going to win the football season and your Broncos suck!" Those opinions aren't hurting physically putting a person in harm. That's the difference.

You misunderstood, a lot of the things he said could have offended me if I let them as I am gay and even as a man I firmly believe women should be treated equally, but I believe it’s important not to gang up on someone but to gently tell them that the things they say are not appreciated here.

Sataninjaku 07-10-2022 03:08 PM

My point of contention is not either side of the argument, but rather the futility of it. I mean, last time I checked, no one's mind was ever changed online. I'm fully in the "fuck bigotry" camp. Ive been into physical altercations over it IRL, in fact. But the kicker there is the IRL bit. No amount of "you're a Nazi" is going to change anyone's mind. All it does is lead to a long, protracted, and most importantly, circular argument that detracts from the reason we're here.

And I also agree about compassion. Anything less would be outright hypocritical.

It's a departure from the comics but has anyone else seen the design for ol' "Imperious Rex" himself? As a Mexican American myself I find it a pretty badass idea to give him that Mesoamerican influence. Some MCU translations are kind of eh to me but I really like this one.

Anyway, this wasn't planned (the universe is guided by a grand comic), as it's sat completed on my drafting table since Thursday and been in development since early last week...I'm still getting used to a new camera/new lighting/constructed space, so it represents a work in progress as I relearn things I've done before, but.....

That's really cool. Is that Vixen blurred out? I had no idea there was a fully posseable Vixen figure.

Oh yeah man, I’m all over that shit! Attuma even moreso. It’s such a smart way to organically work in some diversity, and to distinguish themselves from DC’s existing Atlantis.

I am nervous about the new Black Panther for any number of reasons, but man, I am intrigued by revamped Atlantis.

Absolutely and it kind of makes sense to go that way. Atlantis is a lost ancient highly advanced civilization like for example the legend of El Dorado or something. It usually steers more Greek culture in interpretations which I understand given those stories originated from there. But it's usually always in the Atlantic. This time it's a little more down south.

That is vixen, she’s from the Mattel dc multiverse line.

The designs look fantastic especially Namor, and I’m really glad to see more diversity being included in the mcu.

I’m shocked they went with the scantily clad comic book based outfit, I don’t mind it one bit though ;)

Nice, love the visuals, love the way you used that “blurred” look in the background, as well as, the focus on figures in forefront.

ya its a mattel rebirth vixen figure

MeLikeJinx 07-10-2022 08:40 PM

IDK why, but I'm getting really impatient for Walmart Retro Lizard... wish he would hurry up and come out even though I already accepted the fact that I will have to pay absurd scalper prices for him... although Walmart classic Strange was easy enough to get and never went past 40 bucks locally... but then again Spidey stuff is always more popular than everything else. But I am passing on so much stuff lately that paying more for just one or two figs doesn't hurt nearly as much.

Also got nervous that they are gonna put the new classic red Daredevil on the Vulcan body which IMO is slightly too big for my liking, so I just caved and got the Amazon 4 pack red Daredevil. Not having butterfly joints sux, but I do like the light red color more than dark red. I'll be sad if they end putting retro classic Daredevil on the Retro Spidey body though. But whatever... I am so close to being done with Legends it is kinda exciting.

Dr Kain 07-10-2022 10:04 PM

Yeah, I don't get why Lizard hasn't come up for preorder yet.

TheBlueMarvel 07-11-2022 04:32 AM

Thanks everyone. I've quite a ways to go in getting things where I want them to be, but the kind words are much appreciated.

@Sataninjaku:

Yes, you're right, few opinions are changed online, especially ones baked-in by years of being fed purposefully misleading information. I also completely agree with your sentiments that internal and external enemies to democracy want us at odds. That said, this thread has done a pretty decent job of establishing boundaries while not completely alienating outliers. Within reason, that is, as I also agree with Benn Roe in that providing any succor to fascists is a fool's gambit because their ultimate goals are complete domination and extermination of those that aren't them. I think his, presumably, expat UK status hailing from a region that had to fight fascists on their soil (the 'Blitz', Sylt, etc) provides a perspective that is lost on many Americans. I don't have any tolerance for people that want me completely subjugated or dead and that's where that retoric leads imo, but I'll leave it there to avoid rehash.

Did I make the dio? Oh, no, I make zero dios and those photos represent a mix and match of roughly 4-5 different commissions. I support the art and its artists by financing their expression. lol AKA I happily buy thier stuff! I believe I've seen your 'Cobra' work on Etsy, by the way. It was pretty cool!

@Dr Kain

As was already answered, it's the Vixen from Mattel's DC Multiverse line. The line had a few more slight improvements to make, but, right at the end, they made wares that look great with Legends. I have plans.
