Because Walmart is run by clowns. It’s a respectable 10am on the east coast, at least.

Havok is kind of cool, but not perfect. I'm not sure if it is becaue it is 95 degrees right now or the kind of plastic Hasbro used, but his legs are very soft right now. So soft I had a hard time getting him to stand while I had no issue with the 90s Havok. I do love the new effects parts he comes with, however, they made the holes on them too big, so they slide down his arms. That's a tad disappointing. Other than that nitpick though, he's the best classic Havok ever!

^^^That awesome pic with Bonebreaker reminds me of the 90’s X-Men cartoon episode. Good stuff.

That Bonebreaker pic kinda looks like what the little kid making the fist from the success kid meme pic would look like if he grew up... this kid I mean: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...SuccessKid.jpg

I laughed at that way harder than I should have. |
Animated Spider-Man revealed. I like the lighter blues, but like the X-Men ones, the shading sucks. He looks great, however, I'll just stick to the AF15 one for the webwings.

are the sunglasses on that new build a figure Reaver removeable to put on the new Maggot figure? Just wondering

Spider-Man looks perfect! I surprisingly don't mind the cel-shading. I DO, however, mind that it's a Wal-Mart exclusive and that it'll likely sell out insanely fast. I also am not fond of the figure being on the Amazing Fantasy body mold to make him shorter than his rogues. Even the Retro Black Cat figure is taller than him! Spider-Man is supposed to be as tall as his enemies and the Renew Your Vows body mold would've worked better since Spidey was pretty buff on his '90s cartoon series. You can see for yourselves here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wp_9k7Qi6U I do hope they use these red and blue suit paint colors and webbing for future Spider-Man figures though, he really pops! I just wish that it was on a Spidey figure that could be bought anywhere, from Wal-Mart and Target to Amazon and Dorkside Toys. It's common knowledge here that Spider-Man is my favorite character, so with this latest reveal, I can honestly say that, in my opinion, Spider-Man's 60th anniversary figures have been incredibly disappointing and underwhelming. Since we're getting plastic-free packaging soon, I was hoping we'd see Retro carded figures for overdue classic villain figures such as Chameleon, Kraven and any version of Doctor Octopus (classic, Armani suit or 90s animated -- I'd buy all three of them!) with the highly-requested bendable wire tentacles. Heck, they could've even done Retro carded classic figures for Tarantula, the Spot, Jack O'Lantern, and Kaine or more animated series figures (that are not exclusive and without the cel-shading, please) for the likes of Mary Jane Watson, Felicia Hardy, Peter Parker, Chameleon, Mysterio, Shocker, Morbius, the Green Goblin and Alistair Smythe, and I would've bought two of each! Unless Hasbro has some surprise Marvel Legends reveals not on the lists of past leaks, I doubt we'll even get those made now. |
I do have to agree. I totally expected more out of the 60th anniversary for Spider-Man (and 20th for Marvel Legends in general). I can not wait for both the AF15 Spidey and Toei Spidey, and then there is the upcoming Lizard with Rhino supposed to be arriving today, but I honestly expected more from this celebration. Like maybe some good playsets, vehicle accessories, or even villain box sets that weren't just repaints.
Not to say we haven't gotten good stuff, as I love my Hammerhead and classic Shocker, but I totally expected Hasbro to go all out this year on the Spider-Man merch. |
I wonder what we'll see at SDCC this year? Beyond MCU waves for Black Panther and Ant-Man Though Ant-Man figures may just trickle out over the fall, we may still get a couple reveals. Oh, and they have Hascon thing as well in...September? October? If they're still doing that.
Always having hope for more Thunderbolts and my big four wants of characters that have no legends at all: Justice, Count Nefaria, Graviton and Exodus. And of course...Banshee and Avalanche for redo/classic outfit respectively. Retro Iron Man wave as rumored/hoped for/talked about the last few years? Seems our last chance to get a classic Mandarin (though not his vary first outfit please). Even business suit Mandarin would work for me. Also...Hasbro, don't stop with the Retro F4 figures...Attuma, Wizard, Crystal.....though with the MCU Attuma coming, I worry that a comic version will be a pipe dream. |

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a "scaly-chainmail" figure of Captain America with a smiling head sculpt a la John Byrne's art, a shield without holes in it, and alternate triangular shield, even though I'm probably the only one who'd want/buy it. A Retro Iron Man wave has to be a must given the War Machine reveal, but I'm not sure which heroes and villains would make the final cut. Red-and-yellow repainted Modular Iron Man would be a likely lock, but everyone else is kind of up in the air. We do need some kind of Mandarin, though, as he's long, loooong overdue. I also agree with you 100%, Nash, we NEED more Retro Fantastic Four. I was hoping for more characters like Mole Man, the Wizard, Trapster, Crystal, Medusa and F.F. suit She-Hulk. I'll even take a Disguise Thing with fedora, cloth trench coat, and sunglasses. A Puppet Master and Alicia Masters two-pack would be cool too. I'm wondering who the lab coat character is going to be revealed to be, whether it's at Comic Con or revealed later in the fall. I'd bet it would be a new classic Bruce Banner, but that would make too much sense, as Hasbro seems to be skipping plans for Hulk's 60th anniversary this year. |

This may not be a very popular opinion (or it could be an extremely popular one) but I really don't want to see another of the core F4, Doom, or Silver Surfer again until we get Wizard and Mole Man at the very least. MM's not really a want for me but I know he's a general want. |

Now since there's Marvel Legends Bonecrusher old school Sabretooth, Black Cat and one of the old school Spider-Man figures even the Animated Series Spider-Man too in case, we can pretty much reenact scenes from the old Spectacular Spider-Man comic where Sabretooth injures his own face from trying to get the webbing off of his face which didnt make sense at the time back since Sabretooth is supposed to have a healing factor

I got around to seeing Love and Thunder last night, I found it to be overall enjoyable but certainly not one of the MCU's best offerings. Christian Bale as Gorr was definitely a highlight so when I was at Target today I went ahead and nabbed the lonely Gorr among a sea of Groots. I think the main thing that immediately sticks out as wrong with this figure is that in the movie his irises pretty much glow gold and provide a sharp contrast to his otherwise grey palette, while the figure's eyes under inspection look like they might actually be the right color they're a very dulled version. Besides that it's a solid representation of Gorr's look in the movie and the likeness of Bale under makeup is still easily recognized. The use of pinless joints allows the sculpted scars to be less interrupted on his arms and his skirt isn't quite as limiting as I'd assumed it would be. His robes are rather well sculpted/textures and some paint wash near the bottom for all the dirt he's kicked up along his path help distinguish an intentionally plain design. |
