They (corporations) will tell you only as much as serves their needs. Most established corporations are not in the business of satisfying our every wish as consumers (which is understandable - to a certain degree). Sometimes, as consumers, we luck up and the company we are dealing with understands that if you satisfy the consumer the company, as a whole, will prosper greatly (i.e. Costco). This scenario usually occurs as the company is in it's infancy or in the initial stages of offering a new service or product. For whatever reason, as time progresses, companies grow increasingly tone deaf to consumer wants. Is it because of their hubris, sense of entitlement, or tunnel vision created by a myopic and insulated perspective? Who can say really? You want them to pay attention? You want them to hear you? You want them to right the ship and return to the ways of old? DO NOT BUY THEIR SHIT. That is the only thing that opens their eyes. I try not to get into these conversations, but when I see more complaining about the board-room than sharing pics and talking about what we like (or don't like in the way of lines)...well, it frustrates me. I want that Unleashed Doomsday. I wrote as much in a post defending my decision to buy the Prison Suit Doomsday. I also wrote that I was very confident that we would see Unleashed Doomsday. With that in mind, the downside of it all is that Mattel knows they have me (and many others) by the short-hairs. If it comes out, I will likely buy one 98 times out of one-hundred. Now if someone were to, I don't know, create a network where I could buy one of those Chinese factory run-offs for a reasonable price...well, I might spend my money somewhere else. Unless something like that happens, I'm pretty sure most of us here are going to line up to get an Unleashed Doomsday and post pics of it here.... |
I was going to quote you Blue Marvel but its a very long post. I would say that yes I fully believed at some point Unleashed Doomsday would appear. This Imiage appearing right now all but has backed them into a position where they have few options.

@CMIII:
I hear you dude. I'm not one to let any company off the hook, but in the end I know I'm going to buy an Unleashed Doomsday. Additionally, if Mattel restarts DCUC I will likely be right there also. My only investment is in these figs. I already know the companies behind them are mostly full of garbage.... Don't let me discourage you from holding them accountable for misleading the fans...I just never pay any attention to their corporate mumbo jumbo as a personal rule. |

Basically he more or less said what everyone who bought the DC Figues was/is thinking. But disenting opinions are silenced again by Mattel |

Interesting find... Found this article on Mattycollector.com too:
Ensign Matty Member posted August 16, 2014 08:47 PM Recently, pictures of a packaged Unleashed Doomsday hit some forums. ts raised hopes that we might actually get Unleashed Doomsday. However, Scott has said in the Ask Matty Forum that the pictures were for licensing only. We may yet get Doomsday, but its not the first time Mattel has shown a figure that eventually go un produced. To Mattys Credit, they are not as bad as Hasbros Marvel Legends in this regard. In the poll, I included all the ones I remember, if I missed some, please forgive me. Question: Which announced but un produced DCUC Style figure would you most liked to have seen? Choices: *Penguin's Penguin *Modern Red Tornado *52 Plastic Man *Ms. Martian (Young Justice) *Superboy (Young Justice) *Un Leashed Doomsday I have the "unproduced" & only one in existence Modern Red Tornado! http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1408250891 http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1408250891 BOOM!!! |
and Light Blue Superman and Wonder Wom..... Oh wait coming out next month ;) ;) ;) :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Damn, I was too late to read that post. Mattel's constant blame-shifting is really infuriating. If the problem was DC comics or DC fans, DC Direct wouldn't be doing anywhere near as well as it is. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with Mattel?

Anyway, I was going to get Superman, but it looks like money is going to keep me from doing so. Oh well. |

Yup... many are missing from his list but the "official" and most common I should say list is the following:
The DC universe checklist poster... http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1408376666 Bottom right hand corner of this poster are the unreleased... http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1408376666 |
You people called it when you said TH was going down, good job. I don't know if the line was any good or worth-while, but your predictions played out.
I don't get a lot of DC stuff, pretty small collection right now, but there is one character who I've never heard of getting a figure but probably should by now. Onomatopoeia. This guy's great, he was co-created by Kevin Smith, he chooses to speak in sound-effects, took a lot of arrows and a fall off of a building with no problem, and tricked Batman into trusting him and revealing his identity to him under friendly circumstance. That takes a great level of commitment and skill, also I do like the simplicity and intrigue of his costume. |
Don't forget that we never got Naked Cheetah and all gold Dr Fate.
That reminds me, I still need to get the Harley from the ML set sometime... |
I have a Theory of how this was going to play out...
1) the next Conn the Bloody Red S on white appears 2) NYCC. DC makes the official announcement since Matty wont be there or Scott does it on video. 3) A presale meter appears about the same time and come Black Friday it's sold for real. Scott looks like the conquering hero |

the mad love Harley is the exact same as Wave 3 and the Jorker is wave 10/Allstars Joker in Black, Grey, and White

@3233rafael
Thanks for posting that checklist pic! It seemed familiar and I believe I have seen it before, but your reminder was very useful.....it taught me a few things I didn't know until now. For example, I now know that my Martian Manhunter and variant have the correct biceps (Jemm also)! J'onn is one of my all time favs and if I didn't have the correct biceps, I would have had to track down two new ones. What this made me realize is that even though my collection is pretty expansive, many of you guys on here know a lot that I don't know about Mattel DCU. With this in mind, I was hoping you all might help with a couple of mysteries I recently purchased..... First mystery: I just bought an ALL translucent C&C Brimstone. I'd never seen one like this, which prompted me to buy it in spite of owning one already. As you can see from the pics(the one with my window behind it - I know the pics stinks, but hopefully the see-thru bits can be made out), along with the typical translucent arms it has a translucent chest piece and a pair of translucent legs. Anyone know what the deal is with this? Second mystery: I came across this Black Lightning. Again, I already had this version, but there was something odd about this one that made me buy the same fig again. If you look closely at the figure, his fists are balled. Not unusual for DCU figs, but most BL's have open hands for holding an object. Additionally, the fig came with those crackling fist attachments that come with Blue Superman. I was thinking that this BL might be a test shot from some PR event? I don't know.... |
Where did you get the BL? Maybe somebody just switched out the hands?
|
I never saw that Black Lightening with Blue Bolts mine came MIB but no lightening

UPDATE: I just checked the forearms on the BL and they have an unusual bulge (you can actually see it on the pic). I think you were right 305Batman, its a custom. Well that's one mystery solved.... |
