Hopefully we see some more X-Men stuff in their Hascon. With them jumping on the Animated Cell Shading figures hard and the rather lackluster Bonebreaker wave (even if I do end up completing it, it's still the worst X-wave released so far), it's feeling like Hasbro's gotten the comic X-men bug out of their system and ready to move on to MCU X-Men figures in the next couple of years, and general MCU waves to make up the deficit.

I know that's not the case, I know we'll almost certainly get at least one and maybe 2 X-Men waves throughout the next few years, but it's just how it's feeling to me right now.

Stoked we're finally getting He Who Remains. Riot looks cool as well even though I'm not a big fan of the character. Like the look of Scorpion but not sure if I like it enough to upgrade. Black Panther and the Hatut Zeraze army builder both look cool, as does labcoat Beast.

The only real big reveal for me is the Ghost Rider Haslab. If it's the Hell Charger like I'm assuming, count me in, baby!

No, the retro Rhino is not cel shaded he just has a paint wash. Cel shading gets its moniker from the way characters were given shading effects in old cartoons drawn on celluloid sheets, that's why it's typically used in an effort to capture a 2D effect on a 3D object.

I think the BAF is Riot since he's on the big monster Venom body and I don't think there's anywhere near enough confidence to try and sell him as a deluxe on his own without it going right to clearance.

That could well be. it's also weird that they said they couldn't tell us how the Human Fly was coming yet....I mean, even if they can't mention a BAF for the wave, if he was coming in a future wave they could just say that. Which leads me to think maybe he's not coming in a wave.

And I forget the figure already, but they mentioned someone is going to be a Walgreens exclusive- they did say who. Thinking it was the Sentry but I may be misremembering.

I don't get the Spider-Man/Amazing Friends set. There are better pictures of it on Marvelous News and it doesn't make sense. Okay, so they gave Firestar the new pinless arms and legs, Spider-Man is the new Spidey torso, but Iceman uses the old Pizza Spidey body. To make it even more perplexing, Iceman has shading, but Firestar and Spider-Man do not. Additionally, they gave Spidey the wrong spider emblem on the chest because it should be the 60s logo with the spider legs that were more in an M style while the figure has the 90s Y style where 4 point upward, 4 point downward. I really don't get it.

I wanna thank Marvel for saving me lots of money for other things with this lackluster reveal of crap that will probably pegwarm

Thanks for the lesson on Cel shading, love learning new information that has anything to do with action figures, in general.

Note: On topic of Cel shading action figures, the Venom is calling me, and I know in the right black lighting, he will look awesome. If I get one, Venom with probably be one of the, if not, the first Cel shading figure I get, again, thanks for the information on Cel shading.

That Riot will make a decent Ultimate Venom and I will get it for that reason alone.

My thoughts on all the reveals:

- Blaster tease HAS to be Chemistro, right? I mean, he’s literally the only reuse I could think of for the High Evolutionary buck. Elated for that, potentially, particularly because it means that classic Luke Cage & Iron Fist have to be close. Right? Please?
- Heralds set is cool. Disappointed that it seems like we aren’t getting Air-Walker. I’d vastly prefer him to the Fallen One. Bunch of sets lately that have one figure I really want (Terrax), and one I have literally zero use for (Fallen One). Oh well.
- Sentry is great! Great because I have no need for him, and therefore no need to deal with Walgreens! So glad it isn’t something like Attuma or Skurge, like people were hoping. I mean, that would be masochistic.
- I don’t collect MCU figures, but my best friend is freaking the hell out over Howard the Duck, so these sound great.
- Didn’t bother grabbing the other Life Foundation symbiotes, so Riot & Agony do nothing for me. That said, they look terrific, and I’m happy to see them complete another team. Look forward to seeing others’ pics of them!
- Beast … is good, but I wish they had gone with giving us the Perez headsculpt from the grey release in blue, instead of this new head. Probably waiting to sell us that as a third figure, maybe in a two-pack with safari jacket Wonderman.
- The Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends sets looks amazing, but I really don’t need another Firestar. It’s the same figure, but pinless. A new headsculpt might’ve been more enticing. That said, Iceman looks good, which is fantastic because I really didn’t care for the retro release.
- Razorback! It will be legitimately difficult not to preorder him because I am so excited, even though I know he’ll pegwarm hard. Ditto (to a lesser extent) for Human Fly. Give me ALL the silver/ bronze age Spider-Man characters!
- Black Panther looks perfect. I am so excited for him. No attachment to the Hatut Zeraze either way. Cool looking though.
- Scorpion looks great. Will definitely pick up this one because I gave away my last one as a gift to an old boss.

Honestly thought Star Wars had a better reveal than Marvel stuff today.

Retro Scorpion and Retro Beast are a must.

Razor-Freaking-back!! I NEVER EVER THOUGHT This character would be made!!!

My two cents (which are two cents more than my opinions are actually worth):

- Other than Old Man Loki, the M.C.U. stuff is a pass for me. Howard the Duck looks cool, but none of those toys are must-buys for me. That said, I'm glad for those who collect them. With "Loki" getting more Disney+ wave figures, I hope "WandaVision" gets a revisit. I still want Agatha Harkness, Monica Rambeau and the main characters in their Halloween costumes.
- Did we really need a Tesseract? I don't remember seeing a lot of posts from collectors who were asking for that.
- Razorback and the Human Fly are nice for collectors, but I'm not interested. At all.
- I've never been much of a Sentry fan, but the figure looks great. I'm not buying him though.
- I'm not much of a symbiote guy, so Riot and Agony are a pass, even though they look good.
- As someone who is a huge Spider-Man fan, how did they get the chest emblem wrong for the Spidey from his "Amazing Friends" three-pack? And no Peter Parker alternate head? Ugh. Iceman looks great, though.
- White Tiger's pretty cool and Black Panther was very impressive, but I'm not really a fan of either character.
- The only "must-buys" for me are Retro Beast and Retro Scorpion. Anyone know when those go up for pre-order on Amazon? I imagine they'll sell out quickly.
- With the Terrax reveal, I hope Hasbro plans to do more Retro Fantastic Four figures later on.
- Ghost Rider gets a 50 years teaser. The Hulk and Thor get nada for their 60th anniversaries THIS year. Oy.

This is the most underwhelming set of reveals in recent memory and the ones I DO like are exclusives that will sell out quickly. And seriously, how do you get "Amazing Friends" Spider-Man's spider wrong?!? Japanese Spider-Man had the right emblem. Heck, WEB-MAN had the correct emblem!

After the underwhelming selection of characters this year, the "Marvel Legends" figures for 2023 need to work REALLY hard to win my money back, and even then, they have to have the figures sculpted, painted and designed correctly.

P.S. Does anyone know why the Wal-Mart exclusive animated Spider-Man is completely gone? Was he a limited release? I went to the page the link for the figure was at and it's completely gone.

Is there really going to be a Peni Parker and Sp//dr ML two pack? If there is, I’m interested in this. And, to add to my previous list of most likely pick ups, Howard the Duck. Seeing more pictures of Riot, he is my favorite so far…

Word on the Fwoosh is that the team implied the wave with Razorback and the Human Fly will be made up of characters like them. If true, I think this might literally be my dream come true. A wave of all obscure/ classic silver & bronze age Spidey? Woo-hoo! If such a thing is true, who do you think will be in it?

… some of those are more/ less obscure than others, but I feel like at least a couple are a given if this pans out!

Probably Ghost DRIVER as i cant imagine a Dan Ketch Ghost Rider would be haslab.
