Fun fact: Taika Waititi said in an interview that the reason his Gorr has a nose is because they tried a design sans-nose, and it ended up looking too much like Voldemort.

Was at the Walmart store earlier today to look around to look at their Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead DVDs on sale.

They had the X-Men Bonecrusher build a figure wave in stock but as usual those figures will be sold out real quick in a day where Walmart wont restock them but theyll go restock on the Marvel Movie stuff whether its Thor Love and Thunder figures or Dr Strange 2 movie figures

WallySparks 08-29-2022 09:01 PM

Marvel legends figures of the Marvel movies they always pegwarm for a whole year i swear just like with last 3 years of Avengers Endgame stuff clogging up the aisles and Black Panther junk.

regular Marvel legends figures especially a wave that consists of X-Men characters they just do not last in stores in a day where they get bought up instantly and i still think that Walmart workers they snatch them up all the time. Thats my opinion of how it goes with X-Men Marvel Legends figures in Walmart stores.

The Black Panther stuff clogged shelves the first time around. Why would they think folk would be clamoring for the same old figures again?

Hasbro is royally messing up Star Wars and Marvel Legends. Distribution on Classified went to hell this year. It's worse than the 2 previous (which seemed an impossibility) due to total negligence. Now with closed box packaging and outrageous price increases it's going to degrade further. I LOVE Classified. But when Spain and Europe get product almost a full year before us it makes me hate Hasbro due to contrived scarcity.

I Walmart employees doing this, I think you are correct, back in when there was a Toys R Us around my way, their employees did this religiously, to the point one I caught one of the employees running to the back with the figure. After that, I never visited that Toy R Us again, and soon after they shut down. Trust your instincts, some employees are doing this, and at Walmart, too! I suspect my neighborhood Walmart is doing this, because when I go to another Walmart, about tens miles from me, I usually find what I need, as true collector, it very disappointing!

You know, given that the situation for action figures 99% of the time being the exact opposite, I think most of the European collectors on this board will find a US collector complaining about Europe actually getting toys first for a change very amusing.

Anyway at least Black Panther is a seperate SKU, so unlike say the legions of unsold Snake Eyes Classified figures still holding Walmarts and Targets everywhere hostage, it's not like the BP wave is holding up the other Legends waves.

So much to keep up with! Probably won't be doing much posting or collecting for the next few months - we got not just one but two puppies over the weekend. Twice the fun and three times the chaos; no regrets though. Just going to take up a lot of my time. Anyways...enough about me...

Really wanted to just comment on the comic Gorr. I'll be getting that for sure. I wish it were a pack of several characters that have been introduced in the MCU figures but need a comic likeness (Sersi, Mandarin spring to mind first and foremost)

I have one question…. What breed?

Pugs...that's what we had before and it's a breed that many pug owners never switch to another dog. Even with the higher risk of health problems, they're an awesome breed.

Looking at that pic I kinda feel sorry for the D+ What If fans that don't care about the D+ live action stuff... they have to buy 6 figs they don't really want just to get the What If Infinity Ultron... with skinny legs to boot. At least to build the What If Watcher there was only one live action figure you had to buy.

JokerArkham 08-31-2022 08:28 PM

I feel like they swapped the infinity ultron baf with the moon knight baf so people bought both waves

Your post made me think of something. For the most part, Marvel Legends, was built on comic book character, so much so, that a comic, with that character in it, was include with the action figure. Then, ML went a different route, and started to produce action figures for the MCU. Hasbro, did produce some good MCU figures, and began to lose focus on the comic book characters, the bread and butter of ML. The saying goes, "don't try to reinvent the wheel," but it seems as if some at Hasbro has decided that reinventing the wheel is a good thing for business, which has made them forget about the beginnings (comic figures) and what made the action figures fun for the fans. IMO, the Moon Knight and the Disney+ waves are not that appealing. Some recent waves seem so under par, that ML fans can now tell which waves are going to clog the toy section and are mostly correcting on their hedge, which is very telling. I will always be a Marvel fan, but I will not always buy ML like I once did. Now, I'm not even looking at future waves, I am going backward and trying to get ML figures that I did not get in the past.

Kind of. I agree that we need more comic figures in waves and as waves in general. But Movie figures have been a part since nearly the very beginning. Series 3 introduced that with Daredevil Ben Affleck. Series 4 had Punisher Thomas Jane. Series 5 was Wesley Snipes Blade. It wasn't till series 9 that we even got our first Build a figure so if you think about movie figures predate that concept which I also think is a core of the line(as in BAFs are a core). It's more if you consider the legends-adjacent movie figures.
Edit: Well actually you did say for the most part...

Weapon X 09-02-2022 08:31 PM

I picked up the helmeted Thor from Love and Thunder today. I feel mixed about it. The helmet is kind of goofy, I feel they didn't do the eyeholes well. Since it's a separate piece I might pry it off and see if I can make them a bit bigger. Also I want to get rid of the eagle on the helmet. And, maybe get rid of the front part of the waist coat thing.

GizmoTron 09-03-2022 04:49 PM

Just saw the Controller wave for the first time today. If you're really tired of movie figs, I think this is one fairly solid lineup of comic figures.

(Of course the store that had them wanted $29.99 each, and comic faithful or no they are definitely not worth that.)

Dr Kain 09-05-2022 11:39 AM

I saw a multitude of the new packaged Spider-Man items at Target today. They had 4 of the Spinneret 2 packs, 6 of the Peter/Ned one, and 6 of the Future Foundations Spidey. They just have just come in this morning because none of them looked like they had been broken into yet. Sadly, no Toei or AF Spideys.
