Dunno why Winter Soldier is there. I wonder if Red Hulk was gonna be on the team before William Hurt died...

Boogieman4hire 09-10-2022 01:29 PM

It's a very weird lineup for sure. I was hoping for someone new. Most of these guys are super soldiers or spies. It also sort of blows to see more development on this than Fantastic Four at least for me personally.

Hope taskmaster is a guy this time. No citizen v? I dunno if i am down with existing heroes like winter soldier and us agent as tbolts. Was really hoping for citizen v, songbird, etc.

They could've done Zemo as Citizen V (he might still be involved as a "surprise" inclusion) but none of the others would've worked since they aren't preexisting characters in the MCU yet. What I mean is Songbird and Mach # (it changes too often) having their redemption arcs would be devalued in a world where they aren't already established as villains.

Shinzero02 09-10-2022 03:33 PM

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume Abomination is gonna get dragged in thanks to the Leader somehow. Zemo would probably pop up by the end.

MeLikeJinx 09-10-2022 03:41 PM

People who bought that Ghost 2 pack must be happy... hopefully this means an updated Florence Pugh sculpt. Happy David Harbour is back... he was so much fun in Black Widow.

No but the characters could just be there and they could juat spend ten m8nutes giv8ng quick flashbacks as to how songbird, atlas mach etc ended up on the tbolts team. Not every character needs to have serious backstory movie. A few minutes of flashback montages would work just fine. But marvel is too stupid and/or cheap to do that.
I hope pugh takes that goddamned bull nose ring out for this movie.

So whos the dude between pugh and ghost and the chick on the end beside ghost?

Shinzero02 09-10-2022 04:27 PM

From left to right
Valentina Allegra de Fontaine / Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Ghost / Hannah John-Kamen
Red Guardian / David Harbour
Yelena Belova / Florence Pugh
Winter Soldier / Sebastion Stan
US Agent / Wyatt Russel
Taskmaster / Olga Kurylenko

With Leader being played by Tim Blake Nelson again.

Hopefully they all get good figures. Ghost's last one had some real articulation issues thanks to the molded effects of her outfit and Yelena's figure from the Black Widow line was pretty bad.

Edit: I'm guessing Marvel is making this team up of mostly good-aligned characters to differentiate it from feeling like Suicide Squad and Peacemaker for the initial form of the team. I'm still kinda expecting Abomination and or Zemo to wind up in the story somehow.

Ah okay. Thanks for clearing that up.
I still say clark gregg needs to come back in this as an ex of the countess ( since on the new adventures of old christine julia and clarks characters were exea. )
I son’t see how olga could be tasky since i believe she died at the end of widow movie.

Shinzero02 09-10-2022 06:18 PM

She didn't die. She got freed from control and taken in with the other widows and Guardian/Parent Widow lady.
If it helps, consider her to be Finesse and her AI/brain chip to be Taskmaster.

Ugh. Was really hoping for a real taskmaster.

Dr Kain 09-10-2022 08:37 PM

Thunderbolts sounds more like Marvel 's Wannabe Suicide Squad.

Toad surprisingly arrived today. I had no idea FedEx delivered on Saturdays.

He's cool, but I don't get why they gave him pinless legs only to have his arm with pins in them still. Also, his upper torso is frozen, so I can turn him.

I felt like I might be spoiling myself too much if I got this one and the Spinnerett two-pack but to hell with it. My gripe with those web wings is I wish the lines were painted black. Maybe a sharpie will do the job.

Thanks. I've been looking forward to this Spider-Man ever since he was announced and was disappointed by how many Youtubers were just writing them off since they can be difficult to work with. I actually think it means you have to work harder to get more dynamic poses, but I feel the payoff is worth it when you do.

ThorOdinson123 09-10-2022 08:49 PM

Saw Love and Thunder tonight. It wasn't bad or good it was decent.

Shout out to the Legends Team for making a figure of Thor with that helmet he wore for less than a minute

It was ok I still think the Aaron comics are better. But Thor + Guns N Roses works well together

lordbest 09-10-2022 10:27 PM

I've gone from being indifferent to Thunderbolts to being extremely excited for it. What a lineup.

Benn Roe 09-11-2022 05:36 AM

You guys realize US Agent was the villain of that show, right? This isn’t a team of “good-aligned” characters. It’s a team of anti-heroes, almost entirely made up of morally ambiguous and/or well-intentioned but fundamentally damaged characters.

The beauty of working with concept art for a movie like 18 months in advance, but now his random scene helmet will forever be a part of your collection. Or at least it will be for me once I finally get around to picking up that Thor.

Pretty sure the FlagSmashers were the villains and USAgent was an anti-hero of sorts...

lordbest 09-11-2022 08:16 AM

I might be the only one but after that last She-Hulk episode I would buy the hell out of a MCU Wong and Madisynn two pack.

Captain Nash 09-11-2022 08:42 AM

It's an interesting line up, if somewhat uncompelling at the same time. But it is all characters we know already, which is a good thing, there's already a connection.

In my headcannon for the Marvels movie I was hoping that we'd see the civilians that would become Moonstone, Wonder Man and Grim Reaper as part of some a hostage/rescue situation. Moonstone and Grim Reaper go bad and join the Thunderbolts (I'm aware GR was never a Thunderbolt), which would have had Zemo, Taskmaster and some other established villain/antihero on it. Just my dream cannon though, obviously won't happen.

I've got no interest in MCU figures, but that would be hilarious to see, especially if they made it some deluxe set with a TV and couch. Hell, I might even buy it for those alone.

I'm loving the hell out of She-Hulk. It seems like they listened to what didn't work with WandaVision, Loki, and Falcon/WS and rectified it because Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, and now She-Hulk have been near perfection. I've still yet to watch Moon Knight.

TheBlueMarvel 09-11-2022 09:45 AM

What a disappointment regarding the MCU Thunderbolts. At this point, when the MCU announces a new property I'll just expect that whatever it IS will not be whatever it WAS that I loved. Instead I'll know that the titled IP will largely be a feint to whet my appetite for whatever nostalgia is being peddled at the moment, only to be replaced by his latest "brilliant" retooling to fit the creative prison he's locked all of Marvel's characters into. Fiege has inculcated me into a near perpetual sense of dread of how exactly Marvel Studios will fail to deliver on the exploits of my favorite heroes and villains. And, yes, I understand that most of the original T-Bolts have yet to be introduced into the MCU and that the assembled lineup has actually represented a team from the books. However, while I'm certain Feige knows which team I/we/most of us want on screen, his hubristically rigid adherence to his 'formula' takes precedence even over the wishes of fans.

While I'm full-on 'meh' over this cadre of 'who-cares' characters, I do hope that those that are enthused enjoy whatever's about to happen with this project.

For me, the only surprises were Red Guardian and Winter Soldier being on the team. The others were 'usual' members of Thunderbolts at various times. Plus we're looking at the 'official, currently announced team' that doesn't include anyone joining up mid-story or any additions that they didn't want to spoil yet due to plot from upcoming shows.

That said, I'd buy new figures of everyone but Bucky since it looks like he's just wearing the same thing from F&TWS.

TheBlueMarvel 09-11-2022 01:49 PM

This isn't about being surprised, this is about being disappointed. I'm aware that many of these characters have been T-Bolts, I specifically mentioned as much. I'm happy that you're looking forward to this lineup. For me, however, these aren't the T-bolts I was looking for and the MCU's Jedi mind trick has grown pretty tiresome. In fact, this isn't even my second, or third most wanted iteration of the team. With this as the ensemble, a significant departure from the original story is all but guaranteed making this a T-bolts movie largely in name only.

As far as T-Bolt MCU figs go, I'm not invested in MCU toys unless they've business suits on. My hope is that we see the missing comic canon figs like Jolt, Moonstone, Techno, and, of course, Atlas. Hasbro can make the obligatory movie tie-ins and their 3rd MCU Red Guardian and secondary rehashes of most of the others can languish on pegs continuing the cycle of so many other MCU offerings that have come before.

I suspect people are guessing right and some of the line-up was reworked when we lost the chance to have "Thunderbolt" Ross/Red Hulk on the team, but who knows? Thematically they all are characters in the MCU who might be seeking redemption and have a lot in common, and it should make for a fun movie.

But I imagine there are surprises instore, and wouldn't be shocked if say a masked character like Taskmaster turns out to be someone very different.
