There are a few super rare gems, such as silver shirt luke cage, a see through pheonix and psylocke variant that have less then 10 made, Solidsnake owns 1 of each lol.

I might too....but even at a mare $30+ is more than I'm willing to spend.

I mean, I like DC Universe Classics, yes, but I hardly have a full collection: Just the Bat-family and villains, and about thirty or so other characters I like. But when people start spending more than I make from several paychecks (yeah, my job sucks) on a toy, I think they have a completest problem. I say that 'cause I don't think there has even been someone who just thought "hey, I really like that Johnny Storm, and should pick him up." This is only for people who NEED a complete collection.

Also, does Solidsnake have a deal with the Devil or something? It seems like he has all the figures never available at mass market.

If memory serves me correct he's a real-estate agent, or something like that and does quite well $$ for a living... so he spends a good chunk of his free $$ on toys. He has a complete set of ML figures moc, every single figure, including 2packs, spiderman classics, movie figures, box sets etc, variants, and then just about every single figure loose, in some cases 20-30-50 of 1 figure!! He knows Dave Vonner who I believed hooked him up with a guy who sold him some rare figures... plus when you buy and sell/trade as much as he does you get to know people. Plus if you start collecting something from the beginning and are super passionate about it and have a lot of $$ you end up with his collection which is breath-taking and sets the bar so high the average collector will never ever come close, but that's fine with me. Slow and steady goes the collector, as all good things come to those who wait, it pays to be frugal and shop around. Some items maybe a "dier" want to some but not to me, it's honestly to each their own. Now the average collector or newb collector in ML wouldn't know of figures like those or be willing to pay anything close to that, but to the ones that want a complete set, collection, or that focal piece that they can say only a hand full of people own, that's why they buy it. I agree nobody in their right mind would step up and think I want a Johhny Storm figure and gravitate to this one, but someone could see it think cool figure, then looks on eBay and is like wtf $800... lol

If I saw 1 MOC at a yardsale I'd drop $50, lol, maybe a bit more if I had it, but my thoughts would be resell, lol.

I could never have rare samples. Thing is, when I like a toy, I want other people to enjoy it too, and if I had the only one or one of just a few, I'd feel terrible. It probably sounds silly, but the other day when I found a MMPR Legacy Power Morpher at Toys R Us, I was so pumped, I went to read what other people thought of it. Then when I learned there were so few out there right now (only 155 in the US, I think), I felt really bad.

It's call poor distribution and I don't feel bad if people can't find figures, if I can, great. If I can find items others can't I try to hook em up with cost+shipping, or straight trades. I blame Hasbro and other companies for not properly supplies retailers and lcs's with the toys we want. When it comes to super rare/limited items, it's typically price that makes them limited, and not many of us can spend $3-400+ on a single figure or statue. So when you can it's the instant gem/highlight of a collection. Man that venom looks awesome!!

I had one. Only one I still have from that series is Flying Annihilus because he's the only one I liked. I paid less for the Annihilus than I did for what this guy is charging for Johnny Storm.

As for finding these figures, it's a combination of money timing and luck. All the money in the world won't help you if something doesn't hit ebay (which it usually does) and you have no contacts. Plus the luck of being a buyer at the right place at the right time. My last two Marvel Legends wax sculpts I picked up a couple months back was all about luck.

Here are some more Pics of MS Venom. 4 of the 5 extra heads can all be moved as well as the extra arms.

I feel the same way, especially when the 6" War Machine (IM2) came out, apparently it was a rare figure and there was much buzz about it here...and yes...

Found 6'' Iron man 3 figures today!! Grabed 2/3 left Iron Patriot, as I didn't have enough $$ for all 3, hopefully they'll still have 1 around when I get paid Thursday.

MOC gets some through the roof $$ atm, loose he's still pricey. I'm only teasing :P. How's Vision doing?:P

behindthemask 03-01-2013 10:02 AM

Vision is good pal,im gonna see if i can get the solid version and blade by using my IM2 set as bargaining chip, and i dont really want to hear peoples bullshit about how vision is worth $$$ because basically it translates into people being greedy cunts,LMFAO,they want the IM2 set for retail price, yet would try sell you a 9.99 figure for $60+.as much as id love to name and shame these shitheads,it wont go down well on the ark.

Glad to hear, and good luck on getting Blade/solid Vision. Your IM2 set is a great bargaining chip. I know what you mean, just because you were able to find that set at retail, doesn't mean you should have to sell it at retail. Especially when it is a rare set. Vision and Blade were regular single carded figures, but were rare as they were 1/case. I've never ever seen a solid vision. Seen the wave but never seen him or transparent Vision at retail. I did have Blade MOC at one point, got him in a trade but had a $50 value, traded him off while back for same value.

one of the guys mentioned that the IM2 set went for $500 about a year ago or so,i dont know how true that is as i never seen the ebay listing.i just want a fair trade, not some one crying in my ear about how much it cost especially when they are giving me mad quotes for figures.im sure i would have got solid vision easy enough if i had of started collecting at the time the line first hit retail,i passed up dozens of good figures in the beginning.something i kinda regret now.
