Also, Marvelous news has some pics from Hasbro booth in London of some new figures coming out, blue team Storm and Banshee look like must haves. Keep it coming Hasbro Marvel Legends team…

I wish I could say the same, but I don't even know what's a 2023 figure and what's a 2022 figure any more. Like nearly everything I was told would be out in the first half of 2023 when I preordered it is either already in my hands or on the way.

On a related note, sweet Christmas Wonder-Man looks perfect! I grin like an idiot every time I see a picture of the figure. It’s so rare for me to cross a figure off my personal top fifty and feel completely happy with them.

I'm not seeing the Bruce Campbell. I was thinking more like Ted Danson with black hair. But for sure his face reads movie star and I completely agree with you. This right here is the pinnacle of Wonder Man action figures. I said I want an ionic version in translucent purple but that's more of a thing that's cool to have.

RANDOM! And that vertigo is sexy looking. Cant wait.

Dr Kain 10-29-2022 12:01 PM

Why is Vertigo not on the updated body?

Anyway, I took a bunch of photos of Galactus, but first, enjoy these comparison shots I took of my two Apocalypses since I don't have time to go all out on Apocalypse right now:

And now, the main attraction:

Now that I have had time to actually play around and move the figures around, these are my thoughts:

Galactus - Absolutely marvelous. My only issue with him is he is unable to stand up straight due to the weight in his upper torso and head. Beyond that causing some major issues for photos, the planet eater has been done justice even if I do wish the head had been more Kirby inspired,

Silver Surfer - I'm not sure how I feel about this version compared to the Walgreens one. The face is well sculpted, but the old one seemed closer to the Jack Kirby face. Plus, there is that peg hold in the back. I do kind of like the silver paint job more though. It is odd that they only gave him one energy thingy.

Nova - My only experience with her is from the cartoon series and I found her to be a weird character. Not sure why exactly. I'm also confused as to why she was called Nova. The figure itself is cool, but damn are the joints super tight. Tighter than I'd like, honestly. Sadly, there's not much I really have to say about her as she's your standard female body and after awhile, it becomes hard to bring something new to the table. I wish they would have given her new types of hands or something to make her stand out.

Morg - I know even less about him than I do towards Nova, and that was just a card I had from some Marvel collection. The sculpt work is fantastic as he looks terrifying. It would have been nice to have some additional hands, however.

hasbroherofan 10-29-2022 12:40 PM

After the modular turned out so great, this was the Iron Man I've been waiting for. And it does not disappoint.

Should I get cartoon Apocalypse or wait for an all blue comics repaint?

ScottyHawkeye 10-29-2022 01:14 PM

The Extremis Iron Man and Ultimate Captain America are must-haves for me.

Personally I'm passing on the cartoon-colors Apocalypse and going with the DST figure. The DST one isn't out yet (pre-orders claim a January release) and his head sculpt isn't as nice as Hasbro's but he's the classic blue scheme and he's like $10 cheaper. I wanted to like this effort from Hasbro but on delivery I find the purple to be too flat and plasticky.

I considered the DST one for the coloring, but they're head is the wrong color and it seems like he doesn't come with much in the way of any accessories. It also sounds like he will not include a diorama base.

They haven't included diorama bases with new Select figures for quite some time now. As for the accessories, he'll come with about as much as Hasbro's. They've already shown a drill hand, claw hand, and spiked ball hand at least.

Damn, I'm trying not to add another Cap or Iron Man to the collection, but you right, I see these on the shelves, I am grabbing them. Damn you, Hasbro.

Note. Even those these figures of Cap and Iron Man look so good, sometimes I wish Hasbro would just make a new figure of someone else, because, like many, I lost track of how many Caps and Iron Mans I have in my collection.

I should have been more specific, he doesn't come with any options for the hands themselves. I'm not a big fan of fists for most figures. I like to have open hands of some sort, especially if I'm not displaying a figure in a punching pose.

That's fair. We'll just have to wait and see, their Silver Centurion wound up including a slew of things that weren't all shown in initial pre-order pictures.

Extremis ...

MeLikeJinx 10-30-2022 04:52 PM

Damn it... knew they were gonna stick Stryfe in a 5 pack. Extremis IM is my least fav IM armor going back to the MU days when he was like the default IM back then it felt like. Never liked Ulitmate Cap either... London had some pretty awful reveals for Legends IMO, but some great SW reveals.

Harbinger 10-30-2022 06:31 PM

What five pack?

This is a nice looking Captain America, but it’s the Cap from the Ultimates. Ya know? Mark Miller wrote that, but it was just… a weird version of Cap.
