I'm more offended that the one guy keeps referring to him as Jim lol.
Anyway, just adding that Frank N Furter and the darkness are cool as shit (awesome Rob Bottin makeup with the latter too). And ive always said Curry wouldve made a great live action Joker in the 80s, i know he auditoned for the animated show a little later so im sure others thought so too.

And IMO Legend 1985 is my 2nd fav Tom Cruise movie (Collateral will always be number 1)... the Theatrical version of Legend with Tangerine Dream, not the Director's Cut with Jerry Goldsmith's score. If Neca ever made any Legend figs... I probably would jump in at that point.

I've never understood the love for the theatrical cut. Perhaps it is because I saw the Director's Cut first, but the soundtrack was superior and Darkness came across more menacing. The theatrical cut had weird music choices and there were scenes that didn't make sense due to other scenes being removed (such as when Gump pulls out the orb and says they are almost out of time, which made no sense in the theatrical version because the previous scene with the orb was omitted).

Off topic and this is the wrong thread for this, but what you said made me think of thoughts I had after viewing the latest Bat-flic. I'm looking forward to Barry Keoghan's Joker.

Back on topic: I received my 90s War Machine 2.0 and I wish they'd given him the proper colors to begin with as it makes all the difference. He's Marvelous. Now onto classic Nova 2.0...color edits are big business for Hasbro.

Was someone in the group looking for Havok? Nerdzoic.com has it in stock. It is full price. I have places several orders for in-stock items and they ship out fast.

A lot of people agree with you... even Ridley Scott himself... which is why he went back and made the Director's Cut. I just personally love the Tangerine Dream score... it is pure 80's synth... and I love the "loved by the sun" ending in the theatrical version.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbMZCwH4xVA

...that right there is pure 80's awesomeness IMO. And IIRC the US Theatrical release is the only version that had the Tangerine Dream music... even back at the time all other international releases of Legend had different music.

Dr Kain 11-09-2022 11:49 PM

Oh I'm not saying the Tangerine Dream music isn't good, but it doesn't fit with the movie the same way Goldsmith's score does. And since Goldsmith's score was written first, it makes sense. It's like when an American company would bring over an anime to America in the early days and then change all of the music because they could.

Ridley Scott might have become a crotchety old man who yells at clouds, but I never understood why he constantly got screwed over on his movies being altered from his original vision. Blader Runner, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, and Legend all suffered this fate. I'm truly surprised Alien did not (of course, years later Fox would force him to alter scenes so they could have an excuse to rerelease it in theaters).

Same.

Man, all this talk of Legend. I love this movie. Either version haha. I didn't see it until I was in college, but it's a favorite.

Glad to see that the retro Iron Man is shipping out. I didn't go in for him, but I would like that giant cannon. I might end up getting him if I catch a sale or something.

I'm ashamed to say that I've always only watched the Director's Cut. To be honest I never gave a second though to there being another version of the film.I even have Legend on VHS and same thing. It's the Director's Cut. But I need to go back and see this theatrical version somehow because that music is fascinating. Sometimes music in 80s films just make those films for me. I don't know if I'd love Mannequin like I do if not for Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. Or Streets of Fire. I freaking love that movie but I always come back for three things: Diane Lane, evil greaser Willem Dafoe, and the music. I Can Dream About You is actually one of my favorite songs ever.

Boogieman4hire 11-10-2022 12:01 PM

I just got the Jada Toys Wolfman today of course as a stand-in for Jack Russel. But my first thought was how the hell is Jada this good? The company isn't new but they've only been making action figures for like a couple of years starting with Count Chocula and Frankenberry. But the articulation, the sculpt, the accessories are fantastic. He has two balljoints at the wait and upper torso but the range is great and he can crunch really low. Like retro Spider-Man low. I just find it astounding what they've accomplished with not much experience

I would kill to get that streets of fire soundtrack. I also wanna get the unofficial sequel Road ro Hell.

Welp...Tom Holland is rumored to be close to signing on for 6 more Spider-Man projects. Whomever replied to my comment months back about his suggesting he wanted to leave the role (MeLikeJinx?...I think), you were right about him staying.

Guess that Uncharted jaunt had him reconsider...that and Disney throwing that RDJ money at him.

Hopefully, in future MCU Spider-Man movies, things will go back to the way things were, where the world remember who Peter Parker is and knows he's Spider-Man, but without the public opinion crap of being called a "menace" who killed Mysterio. Tony Stark chose Peter Parker to be the next big hero.

That's because Peter is a no-good backstabber who couldn't handle seeing true heroism on display.

I'm going to guess 3 will be Spider-Man movies while the other 3 will be Avengers appearances. Although, I think I read there was a Spider-Man TV series coming out or something.

All I know is god dammit, they better make Hobgoblin be the central villain across three movies.

What a terrible choice of words to say about someone who's "trying" to do some good but can never get a break. Nobody not even Peter Parker/Spider-Man deserve being treated like crap or being called a menace let alone a "no-good backstabber".

You're right. Spider-Man has really been more of a threat than a menace.

He shouldn't even be called a "threat" ether when he is nothing of the kind. The one thing he wanted to do for the city of New York is keep people safe so nobody else suffers the same fate as his Uncle Ben regardless that he didn't stop the guy who pulled the trigger when he had the chance.

You're totally right, he's more of a vigilante that punishes others for his own mistakes.

Did they ever announce when the X-Men villain 5-pack would go up for sale? I don't remember seeing anything, but I miss things.

Not a menace, not a backs-stabber, not a threat, not a vigilante, not a criminal, not a straight up villain at all, not even the spawn of Satan himself.

Not yet. In fact they haven't even confirmed it as a five pack yet but we all know better.

Shinzero02 11-11-2022 02:26 AM

Just got charged for the Amazon Symbiote 3 pack. Says I should get it the 15th.
Yay Life Foundation Symbiote collection complete.
Now I just need a Scorn, Hybrid, both Manias and Silence.

I hear your Spidey-fan frustration in this and your other posts on the page. However, this Spidey-fan, while annoyed by Pete being constantly harangued by Jamison and the Bugle, I’m more aggravated by the general ignorance of how powerful Spidey is In actuality. I’ve gotten better over the years, but there was a time when I would become nearly apoplectic when people would suggest that heroes like Batman, Daredevil, Deadpool, or even Wolverine could contend with his powerset. People often forget he can bench 10 tons. There aren’t many characters that can do that: Beast, Moonstone, US Agent, D-man, Battlestar, etc. His speed and reflexes allow him to dodge automatic gunfire from multiple machine gun toting assailants and move faster than the eye can follow. (Not Speed Demon or Pietro fast, but comparable when contrasted vs peak-humans) Wizard Magazine in the 90’s listed him and Nightcrawler as Marvel’s most agile heroes and this in conjunction with his spider-sense makes him all but untouchable. I’ve said it many times here, but it’s a misnomer to describe Spider Man as a ‘street level’ hero. Sure, that’s who he often fights, but he’s grossly over-powered in that category. We’re talking about someone that bludgeoned an unexpecting herald of Galactus (Firelord) into near unconsciousness – mind you, as a Surfer/herald fan, I found that to be a stretch despite my love of Spidey. But, yeah, most low level to moderate heroes and villains are no match for Pete whether he’s pulling punches, or not. Nerd out.

I also want Hobgoblin on the screen and you're likely right about how the projects will shake out.

Dr Kain 11-11-2022 07:06 AM

Oh my god, this is getting fucking ridiculous. I just got notified that the Amazon Spider-Man set AND Snizzard from PR are shipping on the 15th. What's the point of even preordering anymore with months in advance to save up???
