Classic Ant-Man is a dynamite reveal. People seem to agree, because pre-orders for him (and the Tracksuit Mafia), are sold out!

Hope he won’t be too hard to find in stores or that he pops up again, as I didn’t get an order in.

This reveal places classic Wasp firmly in my top ten most wanted.

Aren't they really just sold out because Target limits teh numbers of preorders so they don't have to cancel them later?

Yeah, I tried that, it never worked out well for me. No matter how much I heated a limb up the pin never went through both holes. It always got stuck halfway through.

TheBlueMarvel 02-15-2023 10:14 AM

Lol There's interest as I'm sure Target set their pre-orders at a number greater than 10. /s

I ordered 2 Ant-Men, let me know if you have trouble.

Spyne98 02-15-2023 12:06 PM

I was able to get the Ant-Man preorder in last night, and thank you for the heads up ThorOdinson123! I'll admit that I wish he was pinless, but I think this looks better as a classic Ant-Man over the retro one.

Well obviously, they're not made to order and it doesn't mean that more won't be available after the release date. But still most figures don't presell out anymore, so the fact that these did says something.

Thanks man, appreciate it as always. I’m hoping it turns out like the Storm/ Thunderbird two-pack where the initial pre-order sells out, and then the actual figure is plentiful on shelves.

AFU 02-16-2023 07:12 PM

Man, I want the Ant-Man. If Target does not get anymore in stock, I will be a little upset. If anyone wants to sell an extra one when they come in, please feel free to PM me, and I will happily take one off your hands.

Note: I hope the new Ant-Man movie is good, really enjoyed the last two.

It's a decent movie if you're a MCU fan, nothing earth shattering like Endgame but still a good popcorn flick. More a comedy much like the first 2 Ant Man movies. It sets up what come next in the MCU. Make sure you stay to the VERY end of the credits!

I actually never realized ANT MAN is in the word "QU ANT U MAN IA" until the very end of the movie. Ha ha.

You’re probably good as I don’t see the army builder being a draw for casual foot traffic. The buyers of this will either be in the know regarding the show, or they will be action figure photo enthusiasts. I’m dating myself, but these remind me of the very first action figures I collected, or ‘asked for’ since a 5 year old can’t really collect anything. The tracksuit mafia, in toy form, are very reminiscent of Fisher Price’s Adventure People. That line never featured ski-mask wearing criminals (lol thank goodness; not what you want to wean impressionable minds on), but many had athletic leisurewear and had a similar vibe to the Legends render.

I really feel like audiences expect every movie to be Infinity/Endgame at this point. They're unable to just enjoy a simple story unless there is some worldwide threat involved or something.

I totally agree with you there.

As usual that's an over simplification and not at all why I (or many of my friends) don't like the newer stuff. While I enjoy Cosmic stuff the most I'm good with a solid street level movie. The Batman was fantastic. Because they focused on story and not gimmicky bullshit.

Marvel movies have become dumb. And the tone changed COMPLETELY after Infinity Gauntlet. I couldn't even get through Thor L&T. Thor was a ridiculous bumbling idiot but, all the women heroes could do no wrong. In fact Thor needed them to save him and the universe. Not to mention they totally f'd up the Gorr story and character.

I'm tired of Marvel completely changing characters to the point that they no longer resemble anything (other than a name) like the characters I grew to love. And the reasons I like them in the first place. I'm also tired of the constant near slapstick tropes.

It's Disney. They've fucked up Marvel and are destroying Star Wars. If you, or anyone else for that matter, disagree I don't care. That is what I think. And I'm absolutely not alone. I've given every single one of these newer films a chance. And in my opinion they have all been mediocre at best. At worst laughable with totally inept storytelling.

I'm actually looking forward to GOTG V3. But I don't expect much. Adam Warlock is one of my favorite Marvel characters. I look forward to seeing how they fuck him up. Quantumania looks engaging. I'll give it a chance as well. Big Kang fan and Majors is a FANTASTIC actor. Both of those appear to be larger than a "worldwide threat". So that blows apart your statement as well.

I also hated Love and Blunder. Someone at Marvel said hey lets cram the entire Jason Aaron run of Thor which is 5 books into a two hour movie. Also they let Taika off his leash and it shows. I hate that they made Thor into an idiot. Thor is my favorite marvel character. Sif was a glorified cameo Korg disrespected the warrior's 3 at the start of the movie.

That's a very good description. But I think Taika ate 3 hits of triple dipped acid before he "wrote" the script.

Have you read Cates' run on Thor? I loved the first 2 arcs.

I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about general audiences.

I agree, The Batman was amazing. The best Batman movie made since 89.

Yes, Love and Thunder was bad, but the tone has not changed at all. Some have been more light hearted to ease the audience back into a comfort zone after how heavy IW and Endgame were, and even then, you have the masterepiece that is No Way Home and then Doctor Strange 2 was quite serious.

Not to mention the wonderful Disney+ series like Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, She-Hulk, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and WandaVision. All of those were simply superb.

Oh, and then there is Werewolf by Night, which is an utter masterpiece.

I agree with the slapstick tropes aspect, but this is just how comic books work.

Can you name a character specifically outside of Thor?

First, no, just no. Disney did not fuck Marvel up one bit. Marvel fucked Marvel up. Or did you forget about the likes of the 90s Captain America, Fantastic Four, Generation X, and Nick Fury moveis? Or that Sci-Fi Channel Man-Thing movie? Then you had the other fuck-ups like Blade II and Trinity, DareDevil, Elektra, X-Men 3, Origins, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Fantastic Four 1 and 2, Ghost Rider 1 and 2, Punisher 1 and 2, etc. And the most recent ones, Venom 1 and 2 and Morbius were not Disney, but Sony.

Secondly, Star Wars was screwed up well before Disney bought the franchise. When you get down to it, there is nothing original about Star Wars because everything behind it was taken from something else. The only reason Star Wars lasted is because it was a pioneer for the action blockbuster and special effects. I love the original trilogy with a movie here or there and a few TV series, but saying Disney screwed it up is a massive oversight. The only reason you can say the fucked it up is because they are the only ones who bothered to produce too much of it to varying results.

After all, Disney had nothing to do with The Holiday Special, Droids, Ewoks, and The Phantom Menace. Those were all Lucas.

Disney has still given us Rebels, The Mandalorian, and Rogue One, all of which are the best Star Wars content since Empire.

I'm looking forward to every Marvel movie because Marvel has by far created the biggest universe in movie history.

To me, the only true bombs are Dark World, The Eternals, Captain Marvel, and Love and Thunder, with Dark World being the worst of the franchise.

Captain Nash 02-18-2023 01:20 PM

So with The Marvels being pushed back to November, I wonder what that means for the product Hasbro is making for that movie. I guess it was going to original be in February (now), and the stuff may already be at the final stretches of being produced. I figured it'd be out in 2-3 months with the July release date, now they're likely going to have to ship it waaaaay early or hold on to it for a while.

Then again, it's probably going to be 100% MCU figures and no comic figures, since they're packing a lot in that movie from what I've seen.

Not that I am all that excited for the movie. Pandemic aside, the last movie I saw in theaters was the last Star Wars movie. I figured if Dr Strange in the MOM couldn't get me to a theater, nothing else would either, at least until F4 rolls around. I'm excited to see Kang but I'm also just meh about Ant Man. Don't get me started on Love and Thunder. It was bad, as in annoyingly so rather than poorly made. Everything that worked in Ragnarok, they double-doubled-doubled that down on and it was not longer funny because it really came across as trying to hard.

We were going to watch Wakanda Forever last night, but opted for Vesper instead.....Straaaaaaaaange movie but that's the level of excitement i have for the Marvel movies right now. I thought Dr. Strange was great, Spider-Man was great of course, and I know this is counter to many thoughts but I thought Black Widow was great. Thor/Shang Chi were already and I already spoke about Thor.

Problem for me is...I'm curious about the Kang Dynasty because Kang is one of my favorite villains, but none of the other movies really have me hyped up. I'm forgotting when and what order they're releasing in, because aside from F4, I'm just not that invested...

Dr Kain 02-18-2023 04:51 PM

Well shit, some of what I said yesterday hasn't aged well. lol

Anyway, THEY. FUCKED. UP. MODOK!!!

Like badly. Holy shit, this movie was utterly boring. Jonathan Majors was the only thing that saves this from being the worst MCU film to date. There was no chemistry between Rudd and Lilly in this at all. Not to mention both of them seem quite out of character. I have no idea why they recast Cassie again. The effects for MODOK's face were atrocious and is the worst looking thing to come out of the MCU. Even the second post credit scene was pretty uninspiring. Oh, and why the hell do their helmets keep coming off every 30 seconds???? What about the rules that they can't be abnormal sizes without their gear on if they don't want their bodies to explode? There is a lot more I could say, but honestly, this movie is not worth the time.

The Kang hype commences in Quantumania - also I'm a big of Black Widow, I think someone in here a while ago posted about how bad they thought Taskmaster was "blah blah he needs a USB to learn other heroes moves!" obviously was not paying attention ha

Atomsmasher 02-19-2023 06:32 PM

So we have a local wholesale chain called Ocean state job lot they had the retro fantastic four for 12.99. I haven't seen the Thing but picked up the rest of the wave.

I think the delay will be good. For the MCU to shake off some of the fatigue and get back on track, and for Hasbro to get back into synch and maybe get Marvels toys on the shelf alongside the actual movie again.

Yeah, pretty much the same for me. Found it to be boring and dreary for the most part, wish I hadn't bothered.

Will Jentorra, Quaz, Veb, & Xolum ever get the action figures they deserve?
