To start, of course.

Thank you. I could actually see Hasbro doing that and I would buy it. However, I really, REALLY, REALLY want the next Doc Ock figure to be sold separately everywhere. I hate seeing long-awaited and long-requested figures get sold as part of a two-pack and/or exclusively sold at a single store or website.

I didn't want another Ock and I won't be buying the animated for the bendy wires because I bought a custom last year when they said the wires would be too expensive to integrate. See that, Hasbro, you messed up with your silly coyness; always shoot straight, candor and transparency win business. The custom has actual corrugated metal tentacles made from adjustable arms used for book lamps. The effect is pretty satisfying (that’s why I bought it), and the arms have a rich metallic luster. Once I went that route, anything Hasbro was going to do became irrelevant.

In any event, congrats, you're batting a high average with your Spidey wants as it regards what Hasbro makes – I believe the redone Sandman, Hammerhead, redone Shocker, and redone Ock have all been requests you’ve made. I’d be jealous if not for Blue Marvel, Morg, Firelord, the Fallen One, FA Captain Marvel/Photon/Spectrum/Pulsar/whatever and, kinda, sorta, Luke Cage - I understand what they were shooting for with the deep plunging shirt and sculpt aesthetic, I just am not happy with the disappearing ab crunches.

Yeah, as I said, I'm gladly accepting the blame! I didn't realize just how many of my Spidey wish-list characters have been made. I'm just throwing these out there for Dwight Stall, Ryan Ting, Dan Yun and the other Hasbro folks to read: comic book Aunt May Parker, classic Vulture, classic green-and-orange Doctor Octopus with the bendable wire tentacles and black glasses with white lenses a la "The Death of Captain Stacy", classic Mysterio with an alternate civilian head of Quentin Beck, a John Romita Sr. art-based classic Green Goblin with the bat-wing Goblin Glider, a John Romita Sr. first-appearance Mary Jane Watson, classic purple-and-blue suit Boomerang, classic Black Cat, classic Jack O'Lantern, a John Romita Jr. comic book accurate Hobgoblin with alternate heads like Jason Macendale and/or Roderick Kingsley, Carrion, Octo-Spidey with the bendable wire tentacles, Fusion from Paul Jenkins' "Peter Parker: Spider-Man" run, the 1999 "Spider-Man Unlimited" suit Spider-Man, and 1994 animated series figures of Peter Parker (preferably in his season 2 clothes), Mary Jane Watson, Felicia Hardy, J. Jonah Jameson, Alistair Smythe with his hoverchair, Mysterio, the Shocker, the Chameleon, Morbius the Living Vampire, the Green Goblin with alternate heads of Norman and Harry Osborn, and the Rheinholdt Kragov version of Electro from Season 5. It'd also be nice to get non-exclusive animated series figures of Spider-Man and Venom that everyone can find (and afford). To make them unique, give Spidey an alternate Peter Parker head and give Venom an alternate Eddie Brock head.

And don't EVEN get me started on my wish-list for the Hulk. He's long overdue for some Marvel Legends attention. I'm hoping we'll at least see some kind of She-Hulk, Professor Hulk in his brown Pantheon era jumpsuit, Tyrannus, the Ringmaster, the Absorbing Man, classic Abomination and the Leader in his orange-and-black suit with the "Jiffy Pop" giant brain look.

I'm also sure we'll see Armani suit Doc Ock within the next few years, especially since Hasbro has oddly been making a lot of figures in jackets, business suits and lab coats lately. And as I said, I'm worried about the lack of ab crunches and alternate heads with recent reveals. I get that Hasbro is trying to keep the prices down, but the lack of accessories is really hurting the new figure reveals for me.

I second that idea! There are a ton of Fantastic Four figures that I'd love to add to my collection! I'm very surprised we haven't had any new figures yet for Mole Man, the Wizard, Trapster and Annihilus. I'd still love to see a Puppet Master and Alicia Masters two-pack made at some point. I'd also love to see more F.F. suit figures, like Invisible Woman in her 1995 suit (with the opera gloves, not the two-piece suit) and the "Heroes Return" uniforms.

Good lord ya’ll a buncha novel writing mofos. :p

Hasbro has a warehouse sale on Pulse. It's 30% off select items. I got the Khonshu wave for a far more reasonable price!

I purchase some Cartoon inspired X Men legends and some other pulse exclusives and they netted to around $20 each shipped. I called my wife and said it was weird being excited to pay 2019 retail prices again!

Archangel 03-07-2023 08:46 PM

Got the Khonshu wave with the warehouse sale. Happy to pay $16 a fig instead of full retail for that wave.

I saw, but I don't need or want anything on sale.

I was missing a few of the Khonshu parts, got them on sale. Works for me!

Apparently, Entertainment Earth is putting the net Spider-Man wave up this week, so I expect Hasbro Pulse and other sites to follow suite. I'm still wondering what the BAF will be.

I thought that was revealed to be the Super Adaptiod. If not, I'm crossing fingers it'll NOT be Stegron since there's not a single figure in that wave I want.

IIRC, that Super Adaptoid is a separate release like Surtur. I'm definitely interested in who the BAF may be.

Oh, that's cool! I may have to get the SA then, I can deal with spending $60 to get the figure by itself, but spending three times as much (if not more) on figures I don't want just to get the parts would be something that would be an easy "I don't want it THAT much" decision.

Spyne98 03-09-2023 07:15 AM

The BAF dilemma is constantly happening to me too. This Spider-Man wave isn't ideal for my shelf. I'm sure many people like all the figures, but I only want 2 or 3 of them. I'm hoping the BAF is something I can live without. Frankly, I just want Elektra and maybe Tarantula. If the BAF is something I'd like to have, I might throw in pre-orders in for The Rose, and both Bens, but that's probably all. I'm not digging that new Spider-Woman or Miles costume.

Spyne98 03-09-2023 07:25 AM

Sorry to double post, but literally right after my last post, I saw on ToyNewsI that the Spider-Man wave will be on the retro card back and there will be NO BAF. This really makes me feel better about skipping figures.
Also, the Legends team is saying to expect weekly pre-orders from now until the end of April. Not every pre-order will be a full wave, they may just be singular items for the Avengers 60th Anniversary program.

Dr Kain 03-09-2023 09:50 AM

I want Rose and Tarantula, but I just don't know if I want them for $25. Maybe Amazon will lower the preorder price during the preorder period.

The rest are butt ass ugly looking figures on top of having little to no accessories. I wouldn't even pay $10 for them, especially whatever the hell they did to Miles.

That Elektra Daredevil is fuckin amazing.

Captain Nash 03-09-2023 04:29 PM

Fantastic that it’s a retro wave. Totally skippable. My Spider-Man related wants are very few now, so everytime a new wave is reveal I’m both hoping for and dreading a Stegron BAF reveal. Mainly because I’d love to get Stegron, but also would not love buying a bunch of figures I don’t want.

Speaking of Spider-Man related, i know he was on the big leaked/rumored list,,but how in the hell do we not have Spot yet? Depending on how creative they wanted to get he could be the simplest of repaints, or a rather complex deluxe figure.

Pretty sure the leaked Spot is the Across the Spider-verse one which has been unofficially seen.

Harbinger 03-09-2023 05:37 PM

Its be nice to get ricochet with an unmasked head.

AFU 03-09-2023 05:48 PM

I do like some of the new stuff that I am seeing from the ML team. The Avengers stuff is great, IMO. But, I wish they would have gone a different direction with the Spider-verse. Do not get me wrong, I love me some Spiderman, but kind of dissatisfied with having a Spiderman themes, which seems often. Fantastic Four would have been great to me like some have mentioned, for example Crystal, FF She-Hulk, or a BAF Lockjaw would have wet my whistle. But, it there is one Spiderman themed figure I wish they would revisit and the is the Sandman. The latest figure of him I feel is lacking some size, and should be a little beefed up, also would not mind a Spider-Hulk.

StuartGreen2019 03-09-2023 10:10 PM

What disappoints me most about this new Spider-Man wave is, aside from the fact most of the new figures are from the awful current Spider-Man comics, that it's not even a full Retro wave. Only Tarantula and Rose have the Toy Biz animated series box art. The new packaging for figures like Chasm look as generic as the current comics. I would've rather have seen this be just a plain Marvel Legends wave without the plastic packaging.

I also don't like that this is another year of current Spider-Man comics figures and movie-based figures. We're getting two movie waves this year with Into the Spider-Verse and the rumored No Way Home figures, but all of the Retro/classic Spider-Man figures are sorely lacking some much needed A-listers. Making Lizard and Kraven both Wal-Mart exclusives was a HUGE mistake, considering having one or both of these than the two Ben Reilly based figures would've raised my excitement, and drained my wallet, much faster. Making Doc Ock a repaint in a Amazon exclusive two-pack with Silk didn't help either, as I couldn't find/buy it and now it's $90+ on Amazon.

If we get another Retro wave, I'm hoping for A-list villains like Chameleon, Vulture, Doc Ock (green-and-orange suit or white Armani suit with the bendable wire tentacles) and suit-and-tie Tombstone, civilian characters like Aunt May Parker or Mary Jane Watson (and no, giving Gwen Stacy an M.J. head isn't the same), and other Spider-Man variants (battle ravaged, Octo-Spidey, "Spider-Man Unlimited" 1999 suit, etc.). Heck, I'd even take a Slingers boxed set.

Also, I agree with AFU, we need a new Sandman. I LOVE the Retro one, but having Retro Electro being more buff and bigger than Sandman seems off. I wouldn't mind an updated classic Sandman or even a green-and-yellow suit from when he was in the Wild Pack, and I know a lot of folks want the green armored suit look. A new figure of Spider-Hulk would be cool, but then again, so would more Hulk based Marvel Legends figures, but that's another rant altogether.

Umm, no. Retro Electro is not bigger than retro Sandman unless you count the cheat height of his mask. Comeseetoys has a comparison shot in their retro Sandman review that clearly shows Electro's eye-level is at Sandman's teeth. Electro's musculature is more displayed since he's sculpted as a dude wearing super-spandex while Sandman is just wearing plain clothes (courtesy of being a reuse of the Netflix Luke Cage) but Sandman is still generally the larger figure.

It's a very VERY good story. You should check it out before you go all "GET OFF MY LAWN".

But that doesn't change the fact that this is a well executed figure. Even the removable face covering is contoured well. It's far from "butt ass ugly".
