But that doesn't change the fact that this is a well executed figure. Even the removable face covering is contoured well. It's far from "butt ass ugly".

Oh I'm not going to tell you to get off my lawn. I'm sure she's a fine DD, but to me, I only care about a small era of DareDevil, which is the 80s. That's when we had the runs by Miller and Nocenti that gave us Bullseye, Typhoid Mary, through The Fall of Kingpin story.

Yeah. I'll readily admit that is my Golden Age of DD. I STILL remember the first time I read the issue in which Bullseye shoves a sai through Elektra.

I also LOVED Romita Jr's art after Miller/Jansen

In this Elektra/DD arc Matt goes to prison for killing a dude. He tells Elektra that Hell's Kitchen needs Daredevil. He asks her to "wear the mantle" since he cannot.

Truth told I just love the character/suit design

Electro's musculature is more displayed since he's sculpted as a dude wearing super-spandex while Sandman is just wearing plain clothes (courtesy of being a reuse of the Netflix Luke Cage) but Sandman is still generally the larger figure.

Perhaps I should've phrased my post differently. I said bigger, not taller. I know about the height of the two figures. They're both on display on my shelf and they're two of my favorite Retro figures. I meant that Electro is bigger in terms of muscles and how they're more sculpted than Sandman's, given the differences of the two body molds. Granted, I know Sandman is just a guy in a shirt and pants and I always this was more of a Steve Ditko version of Sandman in terms of his size. I just think it's weird that Electro is the bigger/wider/more muscular looking of the two, is all. Sorry for the confusion.

That said, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed we'll get another, FULL wave of Spider-Man figures with the Retro packaging. I wouldn't mind seeing figures like Beetle and Jack O'Lantern getting the Retro Toy Biz packaging, since both were in the SNES and Sega "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" video game, but I really, REALLY want to see Retro figures of Chameleon, Vulture, and a bendy wire tentacles Doc Ock sooner than later. Since they're three of Spider-Man's most popular and oldest foes, I'm surprised they haven't gotten the Retro treatment already.

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but Dan Yun Tweeted this yesterday: Next week we will have Walmart collector con preorders for Legends and couple of other items

I'm assuming Kraven will be one of the Walmart items up for pre-order, but I wonder what the "other items" are going to be.

Thank you for a the reminder! I totally saw his post and then forgot haha. I wonder what else we'll see?

since it's walmart exclusives, I dread will be the Avengers 2 packs. If Kang was an estimated August release and that was a few weeks back, September/october estimated releases sound about right at this point. Which, given how ahead of the estimate the Legends have been for the most part, we could see these 3 months before their "estimated" date.

Speaking of getting earlier than estimated, got my Amazon notice the Storm/Forge/Jubilee set would be shipping next week. Yay for Storm. Can't wait for the Banshee one.

StuartGreen2019 03-12-2023 04:59 PM

@Captain Nash - I doubt that the Avengers two-packs will be Wal-Mart exclusives. That said, I could, unfortunately, see that happening. Whatever the reveals turn out to be, I'm sure the Wal-Mart exclusives will turn out to be some kind of long-requested solo figure or two-packs from the leaked list we got. I'm still mad at Wal-Mart that my pre-ordered Lizard was sent to the wrong address and I never got the chance to actually buy it.

The new Bucky Cap was supposedly a Walmart exclusive, and it wouldn't surprise me if the Super Adaptoid is as well...since it's essentially a green Captain America with a new head...

Hoping Walmart gets around to my Animated Spidey at some point...it's still "delayed"...its been so long I'm surprised it hasn't been canceled at this point.

The X-Men pack arrived today.

Forge is cool, but his gun is way too big. Also, the collar piece seems a tad small for his neck. Lastly, I just realized his robotic leg is pegged, which looks really weird considering the rest of the legs are pinless. Storm's head is too high up and the paint job is a bit sloppy. Jubilee is the worst though. First off, I have no idea how to get her gum into her mouth. Secondly, her arms were a pain to get unstock, he legs are super stiff, and her belt seems to be too high. Not thrilled that this is the quality for nearly $80.

ThorOdinson123 03-16-2023 08:04 AM

Hasbro did a Mailbu Stacy this time with the Endgame Ronin figure. the re-released it with a new clint head and newish bow for Walmart's Collector Con. Its under the Hawkeye D+ logo

Atomsmasher 03-16-2023 09:26 AM

Is kraven showing up for others at 27 plus dollars cause that's a bit to steep for me.

I can't speak for Kraven because I don't care about this repaint but that's about how much classic Strange and retro Lizard were when I found them in store back in October. That just seems to be the price Walmart is charging for its exclusive Legends.

Atomsmasher 03-16-2023 04:15 PM

Thanks for responding. I wasn't sure if that was the real price or the resale price like some of the wwe figures already have. I love the animated series but for a mostly repaint this one seems high.I can live without him. Glad it wasn't the vulture or Chameleon though I'll probably have no issue spending more for them.

Hello! Long time lurker (I was a huuuge Marvel Universe collector, and would lurk and jealously compare what was available for the six inch line compared to the 3.75ers for years, and it'll be a year soon of my having started buying current and back Marvel Legends). Could you please, if convenient, show a picture or two of Jubilee? I'm on the fence for this 3 pack and your review has me unable to complete my online purchase especially if Jubilee is jacked up.

I do play to take pictures of them, I just don't have the time right now to do so.

6 days since a post on here. I definitely feel like engagement with the line is waning. It's a sad thing, but I know it well, as I've felt that way for several years now.

There's quite a few new characters or new looks for characters we have that I'd love to see, but much of the time my reaction to reveals is "meh". Doesn't mean I won't get something I'm not blown away by, but it's definitely not things I feel I "can't wait" for. Even what I've got preordered, it'll be nice to have but it still leaves me empty.

I haven't bought Marvel Legends this year yet. My last Legends purchase was shuri panther last December. Kraglin will probably be my first purchase of the year from Legends.

They’ve overplayed their hand and overextended on many fronts IMO. Too many different strategies and an overreliance on film tie-ins leaves them without a concrete path forward. No one could have predicted the timing of the pandemic or its fallout. However, they should have anticipated that Hollywood would beat the interest out of the 80-year-old rug that is Marvel and prognosticated the fatigue – the signs were there. Now, they’ll sputter as the movies have dried up and Marvel as a publication has lost sense of the “Marvel Way” (that used to be a thing) and the comics languish.

Depending on the strength of the pending X-men and FF films, there will likely be a resurgence of super-movie interest. Until then, Hasbro needs to tighten things up and keep providing fan-service to the hardcore because we are the only ones still buying. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – pivot to the collector market raise the price to $35 and make it worth the buy with accessories, paints, and fucking RESEARCH. No one is paying retail for half-hearted efforts and there are simply too many other options at $35 that make Legends look like foolish purchases.

Looks like the GOTG Vol 3 wave is starting to hit stores. someone in New Jersey found it at his local Walmart

The line isn't waning, we just don't have anything to talk about right now.

Hell, I'm waiting for the other 3 pack to be in my hands before I do any more X-Men photos due to how busy I am.

ThorOdinson123 03-24-2023 11:36 AM

Amazon has moved up the GOTG Vol 3 wave to tomorrow's date

Captain Nash 03-25-2023 04:58 PM

Got a message from Pulse that my Blob is shipping soon. Gosh, that sounds funny. Blob gonna be in the mail. Blob gonna be on my porch.

I also broke down and ordered the now in stock X-Men Villain 5 pack from Amazon. I mean, it is 4 never done before characters. The ratio for that is high enough to justify the expense, for now.
