I'd rather they finish the good X-Men teams/designs from the Claremont era before they started doing those horrid 2000s incarnations.

Lol Maybe, but potato camera, or not, I just don’t care for tactical gear/armor for a guy whose principal power is to heal from virtually any wound. I assume the alterations are for aesthetic purposes, but imo the look is silly in this case. It won’t stop me from seeing the movie, of course, just as previous costume choices haven’t prevented me from viewing the others.

Anyway, Morbius appreciation – dinner has been served:

It's Morbin' time!

Say what you might about the movie...I'm still bummed we never got a Leto Morbius in the Legends treatment. Pretty sure we won't for Kraven as well. Sure....these movies might be terrible, but it would be nice to squeeze them in right next to our various MCU Spideys we've received over the years.

TheBlueMarvel 07-11-2023 09:15 AM

Is it bad that I didn't hate the Morbius movie? ;)

As a Morbius fan, I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it either. It was better than the Venom movies and the people who wrote it have clearly read some Morbius comics, but they just didn't know how to adapt the character properly.

My only issue with Morbius as a film was the incredibly boring and non threatening villain, and the haphazardly thrown in end credit scene that really made little to no sense in the scheme of things. Otherwise, I enjoyed the action sequences, the effects were okay (better than Ant-Man's for sure) and I loved the look and design of Morbius himself.

Matt Smith was clearly just phoning it in and wasn't even trying to give a good performance. He was Spider-Man 3 Symbiote Peter levels of cringe.

Did you have some sort of inside info BlueMarvel, or did you seriously just will this into existence?

Dear Hasbro, adding a shoddy waist cut to a figure that was already terrible and questionably sculpted does not fix any of the problems that figure originally had. You made a perfect course correction when you did Spiral, and then managed to drive straight into a wall with this one.

Wow...absolutely NOTHING new for Morbius? No new hands, heads, capes, or body type?

LOL Nah, buddy, but every so often I do successfully align with the universe. ;) Obviously, this sort of thing happens routinely. Hasbro might want to pull back a bit; see my previous comments about remakes and how I think they’ll be received with the price increases. I expect this to be appropriately pilloried. Nothing new for Morbius is a slap given its poor design…at least give us some fists. You know this, but for those that don’t – Hasbro’s Morbius is notoriously difficult to pose due to the poor designs for the figure’s hips. A feature that was oddly repeated with their Blade.

This is almost as big a bomb as the flash movie.

When I first heard about the set, I was interested. But then I looked at it and lost all of it. While it's nice they added a waist swivel to the 6 armed body, he still has no additional hands for the extra arms and the spider emblem on his chest is wrong for when he went up against Morbius. Why does this seem to be a hard thing for Hasbro to grasp? They got it wrong on the Amazing Friends 3 pack, and now they got it wrong here.

I would have been down for an updated classic Morbius, but this isn't updated. Shit, even if he had new feet I might have been sold. This was the perfect opportunity to use pinless joints for Morbius and a more classic looking cape since the cape he comes with is for the more modern comic version of the original costume. His cape in the original were similar to the webwings Spidey had where they were under his arms, not a regular cape.

well Hasbro recently has made and released Chamber and Monet.
Other Gen X characters Id love to see be made are Husk and Skin more than Jubilee. a Generation X Jubilee would be easy to custom make anyway if you have an extra Caliban build a wave Jubilee for her head and then go buy an extra Monet figure.

as for Reyes, maybe.

X-Factor Wolfsbane
X-Force Feral
Excalibur Phoenix
Generation X Jubilee
X-men Cecelia Reyes -standard training uniform. or Marrow with her outfit when she joined (NOT Gene Nation look)

That's true. The reason I chose Jubilee is name recognition, she's the highest profile character to more casual buyers. Although I definitely concede most people that would buy a set like this are not casual buyers. Husk could work instead - Skin would not fit in this pack.

I'm really looking forward to Bucky Cap. We even get sculpted suit details on the torso and head. Turned out great.

Sort of. There's been no shortage of Deadpools, and if you have the Deadpool with scooter, Bob head is in there to make your own Hydra Bob with the regular Hydra Soldiers.

Is it just me or is Deadpool missing some paint apps?
I like the new buck they're using for him. I'll probably try to get the set.

WallySparks 07-13-2023 02:39 PM

Hasbro made a new Mr Fantastic figure with two long stretchy arms as acessories recently for this year from last year a couple of months ago.

pretty sure they can pull it off with a Generation X Skin figure. As for Husk, shed be a plain blonde gal in the Gen X uniform anyway.

and it would be nice for EMpath to be a build a figure for a Generation X wave 2/3 sometime next year hopefully

I was just sorta thinking about how Hasbro's already done a decent amount for the Disney+ shows and with more to come, but we still don't have any Werewolf by Night figures. I'd be game for a Werewolf and Man Thing two pack.

That is just a cheap ant-man repaint sans accessories and an unmasked head.

Looks more like some generic space man to me.
