To the thread: As far as the crestfallen sentiment expressed about SDCC ‘23 goes, I wonder how much of this is attributable to the lack of tie-in for related media, specifically, the films. I’ve always noted an inverted relationship between the general community excitement over these reveals juxtaposed to my personal enjoyment of whatever’s been presented. Basically, if I’m happy, the consensus generally isn’t, and vice versa. Not being an MCU fan (outside of 2-5 flics) I tend to be more excited by comic heavy rotations, deep cuts, and a focus outside of popular pockets of Marvel. These interests are often reflected in the figs I choose to take photos of; I rarely select popular/topical heroes/villains (or teams) because I’m more of a B-Side aficionado, in nearly all respects. Currently, there’s no sustained buzz over anything within the MCU zeitgeist and we’ve occupied space within this nadir for some time now. This has worked incredibly well for my collection netting me a Blue Marvel, Kang, classic Herc, Photon, classic Luke, High Evolutionary, a couple of FF squads, Quasar, classic Starlord, Psycho Man, Moondragon, 90’s Drax….and the list goes on and on. Adding to this idea, I even consume the reporting on all this differently than most folks on this thread. I didn’t watch the live stream. I rarely, if ever, tune in to those junkets. I don’t think anything is wrong with doing so, it’s just not my bag. However, maybe the 24/7 quest for knowledge about these releases is having the unintended result of muting the enthusiasm generated when the actual reveal comes to light. Again, I’m not judging how anyone else goes about participating in this hobby. It’s all good under the sun. I just wonder about what affect the ways in which we manifest our interest in the hobby is having on said interest in the big scheme. No right, or wrong, but possibly worth thinking about. |

Heads up
|
Did they ever announce when the X-Men '97 figures would go up for preorder?
I was also a little disappointed by the reveals at SDCC. The Marvel Knights and Disney+ waves do very little for me. As far as the amount that was revealed,
As for my own disappointment for what was revealed,

ANYWAY.
Most of what has been revealed is worth buying. Still waiting on the X-Men '97 orders. Blue Marvel is still the worst poster ever. But other than that, good comic-con so far. |

I feel sorry for you. I really do. You're clearly in your late 40's/early 50's judging by your posts on here. An older Gen-Xer that just couldn't get his shit together. "medz"? "cus the Ye thang"? You need help. It's just toys, man. Pieces of plastic. Let it go. Get some help. Find some real happiness. |

Sure, Disco. Sure. I ‘ll believe that once I start believing your other schticks like you are ‘beyond’ people here despite responding to everything, sometimes, even months later and targeting perceived “enemies” for reprisal. It’s great that you feel bad for me. It demonstrates empathy, which would be an improvement for you. What’s funny is that if this is a ‘persona,’ you’re in an even worse position, psychologically, because why go through the effort of pretending to be a degenerate... The age stuff doesn’t bother me, buddy…but aren’t you also supposed to be Gen-X while not liking old-man Gen-X things... Try. Harder. |

The best you can do is: "Try. Harder." What a joke. What a laugh. |

What do you want on here? Most of what you post is your amateur photography or wanting some obscure Marvel Characters from the 70s/80s that no one gives a shit about. Oh great, it's some one-shot creepy-ass Claremont creation that no one cares about. GREAT. FUCKING GREAT. |

Whenever Hasbro makes any new X-Men Storm figure they forget the fact that Storm in the comics has always had blue cat like eyes

As for the Marvel Knights wave not showing up in stores, that's a bummer, but it makes sense. I only want Blade, but I have no need for him at $25, so I guess I'll have to hope Amazon puts him on sale. |
Well I guess everythings been revealed for the weekend by now (probably by Friday but I’m a hopeful optimist for sneaky reveals).
Just one (and maybe Bishop) figure for me, but it’s Justice so that’s a huge win right there. My perceived “quality over quantity” still considers this a good Con. |
Had to look at the X-Men 97 figure lineup photos to look closely at the mowhawk Storm and it looks like she has blue eyes but theyre not cat like eyes.
So Hasbro did finally make a Storm figure with blue eyes but not having them to be like her original cat like eyes like in the old X-Men comic from the late 1970s to the 1980s |
