My quick thoughts on the reveals...
Definite buys
Undecided
Everything else is a likely pass. I don't collect MCU, or Legends based on video games and/or animated series. Not shitting on the figs or their inspo, they're just not my focus. |
I'm wondering if Justice, Vision and Power Princess are going to be part of an Avengers wave? Maybe adding in that Count Nefaria IF that list was legit?
Madam Masque could use an update so throw her in the wave too, that way you've got father and daughter in the wave. Throw in Thor as the big name, and some bigger named villain who's probably due for a re-release/different outfit release, and then Atlas as the BAF so we can get some movement on completing the OG Thunderbolts...(don't forget about that half-finished team too, Hasbro!) |

On a side note: I posted my Banshee kitbash over in the customs section and TBM kindly recommended I show it off here, too. Recipe breakdown and a couple more pics in the original thread. As stated over there, the green isn't exactly right, but I'll make do with this until H gets to it. |

I never got the last classic Vision on the retro card (I can't remember if I just never found him or if other things had my attention) so the new classic Vision is appealing to me but Blade is my favorite Legends reveal from this SDCC even without an alternate head and guns. Now as for the Marvel Knights wave being fan channel only... some motherfuckers are always trying to ice-skate uphill.
The last line was just a joke, fan channel stuff is usually pretty easy to get. |
Speaking of Crystar, I think its cool that a new figure got made of Crystar
Stupid Shartimusprime by the way, he had that put upon confused act when he was interviewing those three guys. |

While I give him some credit for sticking his neck out and asking some difficult (though not very well thought out) questions, it was evident very early that Shartimus went into interview with a very aggressive agenda to prove his naysayers wrong. Unfortunately, the interview went south very quickly only for it to blow up in his face as the seasoned professionals at Hasbro ran circles around him and ended up taking him to the woodshed. |

How do you like the Ubiquitous modular diorama set? I’ve had a couple of boxes for years now. I built something a little too ambitious and not per their sample designs. It came out ok, but I foolishly didn’t incorporate the lighting elements and never returned to retro fit. The pegging system and warping found in many of the slots proved to be too aggravating for me to revisit. I purchased a metal sculpting tool to avoid the trauma it can cause to the fingertips, but still haven't gone back to complete what I started. Building things from the Ubiquitous sets can take a physical toll.. |

^Random observation - I like the other illustration better, especially Thor. That profile for Falcon has a noticeable underbite lol
However, based on that SW design, I want a new fig in that outfit. |

When I got them I had aspirations of building something grandiose like a Danger Room dio, but...nah. I realized that I'm only going to have something useful if I don't stray far from the octagon they show you how to build. What you see in the pics incorporates parts from two sets to make the default build one panel deeper (to accommodate two lighted columns) and one wider. That's as "grandiose" as I'm able to get it. It always impresses me when I see some that use the lights but not simply in the octagonal configuration. I obviously don't have the correct type of brain for anything more. And yeah, my fingers are quite upset with me after I've done any de/re-constructing. Even with the basic octo design, working with the lighting kits can be a chore. It takes some effort to snake wires in such a way that they can stay concealed without making any wall panels bulge. Also, internal connectors between column and wall pieces can get boogered if you're not super careful (my the bottom-right, front-column light doesn't work for this reason). So, yeah...I don't hate them, but in hindsight I kinda wish I'd gotten something else. For the same money I could've had a couple of Extreme Sets dios and some simple under-shelf lighting, or maybe even commissioned something custom. But, since I have the Nova sets I use them – usually for "what I just got/did" type photos to post here and elsewhere. |

Also, some pics of Monica and the "Marvels." |
one thing i did hear while watching the awkward Shartimusprime interview with the 3 Hasbro guys, i heard them mention New Warriors. Whether they were hinting at original New Warriors or the newer version of New Warrior started wondering.
You think it would be possible for Hasbro to make an action figure of that one New Warriros members where she had crutches? Now, im sure some of you probably wouldnt waste money on an action made based on a cripple member but she was one of the original members. Plus she was a mutant too i think. so far the only action figures that did get made based on original New Warriors are Night Thrasher, Rage, Speedball, Firestar and one of the Novas anyway. Hasbro ever make a Namorita figure? |

You raise some really good points concerning Silhouette. To make her accurate they would need the crutches, and that gets into the whole "disabilities" debate. I don't personally have an issue with it, but I can see Hasbro feeling like enough people would that they'd be cautious with it. Maybe include the crutches in the box but not in sight on the packaging? I mean, she's not a real person, she's a figure (of a fictional person lol). The figure could actually stand on her own without the crutches, unless they went the route they went with the X-Men movie Xavier back in 2000. Which would also be an issue, personally I'm surprised they did that one. |

I just think anything surrounding disabilities is something Hasbro could potentially be cautious about. To be clear, it doesn't bother me one way or the other and I'm all for including the crutches should she get made. but I could see where it might bother other people. |
Any classic New Warriors team would be incomplete without Silhouette. I'd buy a fig of her with the quickness.

Hip! Hip! |
We’ve gotten multiple Xaviers in wheelchairs. I really don’t think Silhouette would be a problem.
|
well, Shartimusprime might have a problelm with a Silhouette figure that has crutches.
But I dont know Shartimusprime personally so dunno how he really feels about comic book characters with disabilties like Silhouette. Quote:
