I'm not trying to throw shade at people who genuinely don't like it but it seems like a lot of people are nitpicking it.

Agreed

He's at 4,134 of 10k with 42 days to go. Looks like you guys will be getting Giant Man. Man the eyes are fantastic. I've looked at those stills quite a bit. It's a fantastic innovation and really cool to see Legends catching on (Hot Toys has done it for years).

When I was a kid my dad had a side hustle painting all the street facing large front glass window signs of businesses in the downtown area of the small town in which I grew up. You know the kind...large windows on street facing businesses. Old School downtown setting. He would paint certain details on the outside of the glass and others on the inside. It created this great multi-layered effect. He also is a fantastic wood carver and painter. My family has an inordinate amount of artists.

Sorry! Not much to do with this HasLab LOL...It just triggered that memory.

That’s quite interesting actually. Thanks for sharing. I’m amazed at what artists can come up with, and equally amazed by their techniques.

Hope all is well as I noticed your absence (along with other regulars) during the Halslab announcement...

I agree with Comedian in that I found the bit that you shared about your pops and being a family of artists and, apparently, artisans to be much more interesting than what is usually shared here! :thumbs

Also, I’m in on the Haslab after talking to a friend about his impressions. Not that this should come as a surprise since I collect virtually all canon figs. Hopefully it funds.

Even as a not remotely interested in Ant-Man/Giantman, I would rather have a comic version over the MCU one. The MCU one isn't even really Giantman, it's just Ant-Man in reverse. At least Giantman in the comics doesn't look like the same character.

All good here, my friend. Thank you! Work has been busy and my wife and I had a baby last March so I spent most of my summer hanging out with the little dude.
I also think I figured out a way to display the HasLab Giant Man if I order him. So I might go in haha.

Good to hear, buddy, and time with your growing boy is time much better spent than messing around here. You’ll never get these years back, so soak up the wonder of this precious stage in your child’s development.

Yeah, man, I caved and threw in for the Haslab. The costume limits his utility, but the sculpt and execution is enough for me to take the plunge.

Hey thanks guys. I appreciate it.

^Thanks for sharing. This place doesn't always present as an ideal venue to open up, but we seem to be between trolls at the moment.

I enjoyed the story as well, despite my finding it hard to suspend my disbelief in the idea that a Superman-level hero could just be forgotten after sequestering himself away for decades. They used a similar retcon device with the Sentry, but his plot vehicle was that he erased himself from the memories of everyone on Earth with his ridiculous super advanced tech that he eventually just stops using.

Fun trivia about the creator for Blue Marvel, Kevin Grevioux: he’s a recurring character in the Underworld series – Raze. I bet he’s looking forward to some royalties – I don’t know how it works – if/when Blue Marvel shows up in the MCU.

As much as I enjoyed the original Blue Marvel story, I also really liked Ewing’s Ultimates, so I hope you get a chance to check that out if you haven’t already.

Quick FYI – Hasbro did make a Blue Marvel fig and he’s sporting the look the character had in the Ultimates series. It’d be nice to get some other looks for Adam, but I’m content with the one I have and doubt there will be another. If he gets cinematic birth, then I could see Hasbro pumping out a couple more figs.

It's gorgeous. I really like that they threw in the helmet too, accuracy be damned they knew some people would want it.

If Green Goblin and Doc Ock are deluxe figures, then the No Way Home Build-A-Figure must be the Lizard.

Comedian 09-17-2023 01:42 PM

So….that’s just about perfect.

Dr Kain 09-17-2023 03:06 PM

I wish my Targets would stock their shelves with figures I would actually buy the way they stock them with Indiana Jones one:

I was looking around on Pulse to see if any Legends had updated shipping dates. As of right now, the Nighthawk and Blur 2 pack has an approximate ship date of September 21st. Also, the Deadpool and Bob 2 pack has an approximate ship date of September 26th

I've seen a couple of sites post that Goblin Queen will be in X-Men 97. An IG account dedicated to Funko Pops made the reveal. There haven't been any rumors for another wave of X-Men 97 Legends but it seems likely that we'll get more. I assumed that a second wave would finish off the X-Men for the show, but it's possible that the wave could include more of the show's villains rather than heroes.

Interesting! I'm sure the GQ's outfit would be heavily modified but getting a figure of her would be neat.

The Giant Man HasLab is very nice, and the price is right. However, over the summer, I cleared out about 150 Legends. I cut my Avengers display down pretty hard. The Toy Biz Giant Man BAF fits perfectly in my display, even if he's kneeling. If this new one wasn't 2 feet tall, I could find a spot for him. I'm not complaining, just stating my situation. So I won't be backing him, but I hope it fully funds. It really does look nice!

Where'd you offload them? I got a few I'd like to move.

Damn. I scanned the ones from my local Target this morning, she was the only one still full price.

Wow, nice score! None of the stores in my area ever got any of the Widows. Luckily, I did find one while traveling out of state when they first began hitting retail.
