The release date is February, but a good deal of product has been arriving early. I wouldn’t be surprised if this wave receives the same treatment.

X-Men 97 wave 2 looks pretty good.

https://www.toyark.com/wp-content/up...-97-Wave-2.jpg

This is the Magneto I was hoping for in the first wave.

TheBlueMarvel 12-13-2023 03:24 PM

Wow, they do look good. And that's the Magneto I've wanted for years but thought they'd never make. I'm glad he's in the 'toon as I doubt he'd have been made otherwise. I'll need to find a solution for the head...

Dr Kain 12-13-2023 04:20 PM

Is that a new, pinless Nightcrawler? If so, I will definitely pick him up. Disappointed in the Goblin Queen. Cyclops might be cool for the effects.

Also sad there is no Phoenix. I need a pinless Phoenix.

What disappoints you about Goblin Queen? I think it looks better than what was planned for the Engine of Vengeance Haslab.

That is indeed a pinless Nightcrawler. I'm honestly surprised, I expected they were holding him back for a 2 pack with Rachel

EvilMonkeyPope 12-13-2023 07:40 PM

Do Goblin Queen & X-Cutioner getting toon toys increase their odds of getting comics-based Marvel Legends too?

Well, aside from looking nothing like the comics clothing wise, she only has one normal looking head. Her hair is also too clean. It should be messier and thicker. And please don't tell me she was never going to be released with the full on skin bits when Hasbro has done She-Hulk with barely anything on her torso but a torn tank top.

I seriously can't remember Stryfe ever looking like that from the comics. Or is this a different X-Cutioner compared to Stryfe from X-Cutioner's Song?

hasbroherofan 12-13-2023 09:18 PM

X-Cutioner is an anti-mutant vigilante. No relation to Stryfe.

Regardless 12-13-2023 09:27 PM

I love these! Even though I like these figures as is, I just ordered a Magneto head off of eBay to put on that Magneto when I get it. I love that not only do we get a Madelyne, we also get a compatible Jean to go with. I'm howling that Madelyne is in heals and Jean is in flats. I'm so excited for that Nightcrawler:) What a great way to break the radio silence on new figures.

Okay, so he must have come out long after X-Cutioner's Song, right?

StuartGreen2019 12-13-2023 10:55 PM

In the words of the late, great Matthew Perry from "Friends": "Sweet mother of all that is good and pure!"

These "X-Men '97" figures look wonderful! I'm thrilled that two of my long-time requested figures, a sold-separately Blue Team uniform Cyclops with an optic blast and a sold-separately Gold Team uniform Jean Grey, are made for the second wave of this animated wave! Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler and Goblin Queen are all must-buys for me. It is pretty odd, though, that we're getting more "X-Men '97" reveals from the merchandise and yet there isn't any footage from the animated series itself. It's also surprising we're not getting a Wolverine figure in Wave Two, considering that every X-Men animated wave had at least one Wolverine or Logan figure. I assume we'll see figures for Sunspot, Morph, Beast and Jubilee for a possible Wave Three?

With Cyclops and Jean Grey finally checked off of my wish-list, I'm hopeful we'll see a classic Captain America with a shield without holes in it, a sold-separately Doc Ock in his green-and-orange costume with bendable wire tentacles, a classic green savage Hulk with better hair, classic Falcon, and "X-Men '97" figures for Mystique and White Queen in 2024 or 2025.

First thing to remember about Maddie, this is based on her appearance in a cartoon that is likely intended for children so the underboob is a no-go

Probably due to the upcoming Wolverine multipacks.

lordbest 12-13-2023 11:38 PM

That's one of the better looking Legends waves in a good while and so much for the "Goblin Queen will never be at retail" fan theory.

Veronica Mars 12-14-2023 02:14 AM

She's not at retail in her classic most recognizable look

lordbest 12-14-2023 04:01 AM

Which is a distinction the people who said we would never see her at retail should have thought of

That’s true, it’s not the canon version and takes liberties, but it is a well-executed design with more detailing than we generally see on female molds.

The weak link of the bunch is Jean with the solid block torso. Nightcrawler, Mags, GQ and Cyke are definite nabs…

I'll tell you that. It was never going to happen. Because one of those is She-Hulk in a bit of ripped clothing. The other appears to be a beyond scantily clad demon hoe. Surely you can see the difference.

And this ISN'T a "comics" Goblin Queen. It's from the cartoon. So, it makes sense she'd look nothing like the comics.

Ripped or not she hulks got more skin goin on than maddy. Its likely hasbro gave her more clothes since shes in the toon and dont wanna upset all the whinny soccer moms. Maybe one day we will get a comic maddy.

lordbest 12-14-2023 09:00 AM

I prefer the '97 wave GQ to the EoV one. Unrelated to costume, just think the sculpt looks better.

Veronica Mars 12-14-2023 09:01 AM

I want to know where all these soccer moms are. In all my years of collecting and toy hunting I have never run into a soccer mom in the Action Figure aisle, Dads, kids, other collectors sure, but most ofcthe moms I see stand at the head of the aisle and yell at their sprogs to "get over here right or else!" Am I missing them?

And I think the fact that She-Hulk is green helps a lot. Heck, in Time Square you can go topless as long as you have body-paint, that's considered "covered". Had that She-Hulk been in flesh color, I think it'd be very different.

ThorOdinson123 12-14-2023 09:36 AM

Wanna thank Hasbro for saving me money with today's stream.
