I very much want a Cap Britain Betsy. Has to include both helmeted and unhelmeted (wearing laurels please) portraits

Awesome! I think I will get all 6? I say this after having realized that I'm running out of room to store my hobbies. Some wargame miniatures and the 3.75 collection will be hitting Ebay soon to make room for more Legends. I'm truly enjoying this scale of figures that I once was truly adamant against and it's not that I'm against the 3.75 scale of figures but rather I'm just enjoying these more.

Dr Kain 01-30-2024 05:41 PM

I'll definitely preorder Nightcrawler. Everyone else I might take my chances with the Target clearance isle.

If you guys needed some affordable spells and effects these mythic legions ones are pretty nice. I pre-ordered the wave but they should be hitting BigBadToyStore sometime in February.

I'd love to get a Revanche! She was around just long enough that I consider her part of the X-Men Blue team.

I think I'm getting all 6 too. I think that they'll fit well with comic figures.
I also really used to like 3.75 inch figures too but my tastes and displays have changed.

What do we think 97 wave 3 is going to look like? I'm thinking

Beast
Jubilee
Morph
Sunspot
Mr Sinister
White Queen

I feel like Cable is more likely than the White Queen. Otherwise, I think this list is pretty spot on.

It's my hope that Morph will come with a new, masked head for Wolverine. Wolverine needs to be grimacing and the masked head that came with Logan looks placid. I don't want the teeth gritted head from the cel-shaded Wolverine. Just a solid, grimacing head sculpt.

Why did they mke morph with that stupid aoa head when he rocked a normal human head in the series. Looks totally stupid but white queen looks great. Ifb5he6 make her in the mainline of 97 like that but yet goblin queen gets made the way she is imma be pissed. You can see the line on maddy where they mighta considered using flesh tone ( which they shoulda ) but didnt.

Except everything we've seen of Goblin Queen's design for the CARTOON has been pretty covered and modest, it appears she's wearing black tights under her black costume, at best you'd have gotten gray like the Funko Pop

Struggler 02-03-2024 11:39 AM

I've pretty much lost interest in everything '97 related with the delays. Making me feel like I wish they had just left it alone. Maybe the quality of the show will change my mind. Probably still in for some of these figures, though.

Yah i was just saying it looked like that may have been considered at one time. I acturally like the grey underneath that black leather looking area. I may have to paint that when i get gq.

I don't think the 97 figure has enough shade variation between the two colors. I doubt the Hasbro team had any say in the character design itself. Mostly likely Disney/Marvel Studios sent them a style guide for the characters and said make these into figures. It's not like a comic figure where there are a bunch of different costumes and they choose one. It's even possible the design in the show will be slightly different, depending on how early the Legends team got the designs.

I saw an interview with Catherine Disher (Jean's Original Voice Actress), and it sounds like she's going to be Madelyne and Jennifer Hale (Black Cat from StA and Spider Woman from Ironman) is going to be taking over as Jean

It's hilarious, I've seen so many fancasts where they have two different actresses fot Jean and Maddie, like tell me you're a casual without saying you're a casual

Dr Kain 02-03-2024 06:52 PM

Wait, I thought Jennifer Hale WAS Jean in the series? :o

While I would have rathered they just made a new show that followed Claremont's run panel by panel, this is the better alternative than just making another lousy X-Men cartoon.

Yes, it could suck, but I doubt it could be worse than the final season to the original toon. At least we don't need an origin story of sorts to set everything up since it's a continuation.

StuartGreen2019 02-03-2024 11:15 PM

@Dr Kain - No, Jennifer Hale is the new voice actress for Jean Grey. The original actress was Catherine Disher. Catherine Disher (Jean Grey), Chris Potter (Gambit) and Alyson Court (Jubilee) are among the voice actors returning to the series, but they will voice all-new characters instead of reprising their roles.

As for the Wave 2 figures, I got my Cyclops, Jean Grey and Nightcrawler figures pre-ordered when the figures went up on Thursday and I cannot wait to add them to my collection. I've missed out on every six-inch figures for Cyclops and Jean Grey over the past few years in these respective outfits, so to finally have them in my collection has me grinning from ear to ear. I also cannot wait to watch the "X-Men '97" animated series, although at this point, I'm more excited to actually see actual footage from the new animated series. I'm also anxious to hear what the new voice actors sound like for characters like Cyclops, Magneto, Gambit and Jubilee. We've gotten a lot of wonderful new promo art and images lately, but I'd love to actually watch the footage itself.

P.S. I do hope they make a "X-Men '97" figure for White Queen sooner than later. The same goes for Beast, hopefully with a smiling alternate head and to actually give him pupils in his eyes since recent figures haven't had them.

Well fuck. All of these years I have been saying Hale was Jean. Like when the first MGS came out, I said, "Oh shit, that's Jean Grey from X-Men!" when Naomi would talk.

I've been re-evaluating my wants in Marvel Legends thanks to the lack of space and new prices. At this point, I think I'm satisfied with everything they have done in regard to Fantastic Four, Captain America, and DareDevil. I guess I would pick up DD if he is the classic red costume on a new body, but that might be it. For Cap, I would get a new Arnim Zola, but I'm probably good everywhere else. With Fantastic Four, they've got the essentials and I don't actually need the Inhumans in my collection.

Spider-Man and X-Men are all I think I will be collecting at this point, and even those will vary. I think I'm going to limit myself to solely the Claremont era outside of a few specifics like issue 175 Professor X and completing the 90s X-Factor and X-Force teams.

Captain Nash 02-04-2024 12:51 PM

With the Kraokoan era winding down for the X-Men, I wonder if we will ever get any additional figures from the era. Still holding out hope for a HOX Storm but at this point it seems unlikely. They haven't really revisited the theme since that one way they put out. Unless it's been like a figure here or there.

Synch would also be nice...but we'll probably get him in the Generation X look.

Considering we got the Generation X version of Monet it's probably a safe bet we'll get the other characters that wore the red uniforms in those looks. Synch, Husk, Jubilee, Skin and Mondo. I don't think Penny ever wore a team uniform in the actual comics. That said they've done characters in multiple looks, we've gotten 3 Dazzlers and I never expected one, so time will tell

WallySparks 02-04-2024 09:20 PM

well, Skin's outfit was different. the leg sleeves on his outfit were sort of sleevless and he was barefeet. Plus Mondo he wore something different. and Penance's skin was razor sharp she was sort of naked sort of

Actually Penance wore straps kinda like Chamber.

https://i.ibb.co/7J75Jyf/monet-bigcostume1.jpg

And if you're already doing Monet, Husk, Jubilee and Synch in coordinating uniforms, doing the other other two team members in the uniforms they wore at the time, while stylistically different still matched would not be out of the question. Did Skin ever have another uniform?
