Zero issues with Miles Morales, Falc-Cap, Robbie Reyes, LGBTQ Herc, or Jane Thor. That said, if FF fails, I don’t see there being another reboot. They’ve got to nail it.

Sadly with pascal as reed and the deep cut silver surfer swap i dunno. I got this feeling that its gonna fall way below estimated numbers. I mean there is absolutely zero reason to chnge any aspect off accept to be pandering to the pc folk.

Luckily this ff isnt in the main universe.

Maybe people here haven't been following the rumors and I totally get not wanting to give disneymarvel the benefit of the doubt here, but from what I've read, at least to me, there's some logic to what they're doing. Rumors are Norrin will be in the movie. It's all but confirmed the movie will be taking place in an alternate universe(the graphic showed a more technologically stylized background.) Assuming the rumors are true and that universe will be destroyed, I can see the logic in not wanting to introduce Norrin as the surfer and then killing him off in the same movie. By having him swap roles with Shalla, you can familiarize the casual audience with his origin without the potential redundancy when you reintroduce him in the main timeline. So, when he does show up in the main timeline, it's a quick exposition dump that he switched roles with shalla and everyone will understand. In the comics Surfer didn't participate in secret wars, so im not sure how much sense it'd make to even introduce the proper version before the reboot. All that said, I'm not saying if they go this way, that it's the best decision or even a good one, I'm just attempting to throw out there an alternative train of logic.

What do you mean it isn’t in the “main universe?” I haven’t paid much attention post the initial casting announcement and discussion of it being a ‘period piece,’ which doesn’t preclude it being ‘616.’ And don’t get me started on how the hell the MCU is 616 when it seems to be an amalgam of multiple universes… Ultimates Cap and Nick Fury..yadda…

Apparently this ff movie is not in the main universe and set in that universes 1950s or 60s.and yah the mcu multiverse is almost like pre crisis on infinte earths dc back in the day. Too many too many damn alternate realities.

Thats actually Lord Drakkon. Now go back under your bridge..

Dr Kain 04-26-2024 07:04 PM

Yeah, if you're going to insult someone at least get their damn avatar straight! Drakkon is NOT the white ranger ya dumbass!!

I hope the rumor about FF being in an alternate reality is false. That would be the biggest cop out since DC brought Jason Todd back from the dead.

No, the TMNT stuff is from Target. Right now, the Mirage stuff is Target exclusive until I believe June.

Neither am i . And change is fine when its done organically and flows proper, not just doing it for the sake of pandering and pretending to be progressive. Doing that sorta thing is just cheap and lazy and takes away from that character/group/etc and the fans of said features and does nothing to expand the the series etc.
For instance if they made if in the rebooted ultimate verse the ff were all black, or latino i wouldnt have any issue with. However if say for instance, reed richards is suddenly latino because kevin feige didnt want the ff to be too white (he actually said that in an interview) that is wrong because it changes an established character and theres no call for that except to placate the pc checklist. Itd be like ll the sudden jim rhodes became a white dude or t’challa was reborn as a white woman or america chavez was suddenly a hetero latino dude. Would you be okay with any of that?
Just because i dont support your views or opinions or ideals doesnt mean one is racist bigoted etc. it just means their views and opinions are different. Just because you and those like you cant accept that there are those whos views and opinions are different from yous is no reason to go around slinging insults.

Xmen are different different reality and i do believe they said that this gonna be set in the 50’s or 60’s in a different reality from the new 616. Im guessing that the next big battle movies will see all the realities merge into one universe, ie what dc did back in the day with the first crisis thing and the multiverse will just be one universe.

Well all of the current X-Men stuff makes sense since those are all part of the Fox convoluted universe and the animated universe. When they do the actual MCU X-Men, there is no reason for them to be in their own universe.

As for FF, given Reed was name dropped by Strange when he met the Illuminated Reed, saying they were from the 60s, I don't see why they need to be from an alternate reality. Just have the movie start out in the 60s and a blackhole takes them into modern day.

Or they've been stuck in the negative zone all this time. Maybe Victor Von Doom as well, who doesn't become Dr. Doom until the very end of the movie, and it's only in an after credits scene it shows him escaping the Negative Zone to arrive in modern time, hellbent on making Reed and the rest pay for leaving him behind.

At least, that's how I'd do it. Alternate reality at the beginning, negative zone for much of the movie, then into the MCU.

That's what I always hoped for or expected. That the Fantastic Four did exist but were accidentally stuck in the Negative Zone.

I'm watching Comicpop's recent YouTube vids about Amalgam stuff mostly about Dark Claw and Spider Boy yada yada.

Do any of you think that Hasbro and DC/McFarlane would cooperate together these days and make and release a wave of Amalgam figures for Marvel Legends at least? I never read the Amalgam stuff back then but kind of thought Dark Claw was cool as an idea Back then.

Marvel Legends figures of Amalgam characters I wouldn't mind seeing get made

Dark Claw obviously
Spider Boy
Super Soldier
Bruce Wayne Agent of SHIELD
Amazon - it'd be an easy figure to make since its basically Ororo in Wonder Woman outfit basically

While I don't know if I'd buy any of these, they would be super cool to see! Honestly, with decent articulation and accessories, I'd probably cave.
