What an awesome contest raf! Here's my story: did not collect since I was a kid. Walked into a fred meyer, saw this toyline and fell in love with it. passed on solid vision in favor of a friggin silver surfer! Thought I could come back and get him, haven't seen him since. Been meaning to make a custom but don't have the skills yet. I've lost a ton of bids on solid vision. These figs are some of my favorites that I spent a lot of time or money to get, some are obviously poor customs, but they have staved off me wanting to buy the real thing. I picked up a phasing loose vision last summer on eBay, and that ghostly fig represents a hole in my collection that has been an absolute bitch to fill. It's only appropriate that the phasing vision sits in the middle of that pic taunting me as he is unable to materialize thus far. Vision would be the one that would make my collection feel complete (I'm not a completionist so I don't have some). As far as my economic situation goes I have a well paying job (PM me if you want my salary lol) have a wife, kids and other financial obligations so I always feel too guilty to spend the market price that vision commands. But yeah phasing vision sits in the middle of the pic and represents the missing link in my MU collection. It's fitting that he shakes his fist unable to solidify while his wife skanks out on him with wonderman of all people! Why!?! A male Wonder Woman rip off! My phasing vision sits in a bar at night by himself drinking a sorrow cocktail through a straw saying "I've been cuckolded by Simon Williamson (and Clint Barton)!" A solid vision would mean that he could be reunited with wanda maximoff, because deep down, she is still in love with vision. After all she's done, he is still willing to take her back. Why? Because she is his one, crazy, stupid, true love.

has anyone seen a custom first appearance saber tooth in MU scale?
it's one of my favorite looks.

Texas huh?
getting closer, was already at Target today and had nothing, will go back Monday morning when they are restocking to see if any came in yet.
The Cap I got today was the last MU figure they had, so no worries on that front.

You're welcome, I have one little question, are you going to collect the Marvel Infinite since they don't have a numbering in the package? and by the way cool checklist you did there with all the MOC figures

Lol, funny you ask. Believe it or not, I used to, you're going to laugh but at one point even the sticker that the family dollar would use on their figures I would consider variants before. Even the multi language packings or the nick fury stickers at first thanks to my OCD I guess but I stopped. It was just too much so now just the list I posted is what I collect.

Ahh, I can use this knowledge to taunt you down the road--heh, heh.

I used to be a 'get two of everything' collector, but Hasbro finally broke me of that habit. There were a handful of figures I wasn't able to get one of (the Digital Exclusives that I wasn't eligible to get), red giant man, Northstar. There were a handful of figures I couldn't get two of so I could have an opener like Baghead Spidey and Omega Red. Variants were getting impossible to find one of--and I usually ordered figures by the case to make sure I got them.

I had 2 of the vision wave, but then I sold off my carded figures and kept my loose ones.

They screwed me out of the Baghead Spidey by changing the case packouts, and then The Northstar/Omega Red thing is what finally broke me. I had the revision case ordered for one freakin' figure--and then he wasn't packed in the case.

Luckily I hadn't shipped it from BBTS, so I returned it for the wave 2 case with 12 different figures and I tacked on an extra 13 dollar Hulk, and now I'll have one of each. There's no temptation to continue my carded collection.

Yes I am (hope there's variants on the MI, lol) and thanks. Hope we can all benefit from that list.

I helped push him to infinite told him won't be the same unless he collects with us

uberlad 03-29-2014 08:53 PM

I was never close to your level as far as the 'one of a kind' figures are concerned. I just wanted the stuff that hit retail, and I couldn't get it, so Hasbro lost an opportunity to make more $$ from me.

Plus, the new MI generic cards lack that dynamic appeal of the old MU packaging, but that issue is waaaay secondary to not being able to buy stuff.

Funny, yeah I was like you, I would always buy two of each that's why I had at one point two complete collections but I've sold and given away most of the extra ones. Like ProfessorHov has a complete moc one and an almost complete loose one. He's crazy! Lol, just kidding Hov.

Lol, yes you did bro. By the way, Professor and a couple of more Arkers that are not participating will help me pick a winner at the end.

I agree on the new MI line. I'm not impressed as far as the packing goes but the figures seem to be different ones which is what we all want.

Haha, nice one ProfessorHov! and Raf I would've love to participate but as you said, other people need that vision more than someone that already has one or a custom one like me, so hope all of us can enjoy the contest, because I'm having a good time with this even if im not participating

En Sabah Nerd 03-29-2014 09:06 PM

Just got home from grocery shopping, the HEB on 3009 has marvel infinite wave 1, I only picked up wasp. They're $9.99, happy hunting for those looking.

Thanks my friend. Yes, I have a panel of judges ( I prepared this good my friends) so that it can be fair. We will all choose and decide on one!

kylactus 03-29-2014 09:09 PM

I just hope the MI line doesn't dissolve into a combination of straight reissues, slight paint variations, and comic pack figures re-released on a single card. money says we see a single carded Quicksilver in the next few waves.

We finally got wasp, so I mean they are on the right track id take a few repackage as long as we got rare characters, I can't wait till the next wave red she hulk omg let's do this baby

kylactus 03-29-2014 09:14 PM

I'm looking forward to whirlwind personally, I've been expecting him since he appeared bigger than shat on the SDCC hellicarier box!

kylactus 03-29-2014 09:16 PM

Is there any word on what Hasbro will be doing for Amazing Spider man 2? I'm hoping against hope we get a comic series, mainly for a Jackal.

AndreWebs 03-29-2014 09:18 PM

Yeah at leats if they re release some figures, hope are the ones that we've missing during MU, but hey, Hasbro's in a good track now with the new characters, I can't wait to add Red She Hulk, Ionic Wonder Man, Ares and Deathlok in my collection

They miss that opportunity with the bad figures they put in the line, I hate them for that, I'm with you on the Jackal figure, they even can make Chameleon or Black Cat but again, a missing opportunity :(

uberlad 03-29-2014 09:21 PM

The last wave of this line before it shifts to X-Men would be the perfect time to do a fuzzy blue Beast and Safari-jacket Wonderman. Beast would make for a nice transition figure they can re-pack in the next wave, since Hasbro loves to do that sort of thing.

I would love to see some of the New Warriors that served as Avengers (Justice/Marvel Boy, Firestar, Speedball) get figures, too.

kylactus 03-29-2014 09:31 PM

ok list time, easy new figures they could make with mostly kit bashing:

1: cannonball, ghost rider body, new head
2: tygra, Electra body, phoenix head
3: Jarvis, prof. X body, new head
3: ultimate Goblin, hulk body, new head
4: marvel Now: Cyclopes, jim lee cyke body, new head
5: 90's Cable: Hercules body, cable head
