@WallySparks - I meant this Storm outfit. Sorry for the confusion.

Damn I just popped in and I guess other people aren't as enthused about the Strange Tales wave as I am. I think this is the first non retro collection wave where I pre-ordered nearly the entire wave in years. Great timing too because I was about to pull the trigger on grabbing a Toybiz Blackheart this week. It's not what I expected for Strange Tales but still great. Though you know, Fin Fang Foom also first appeared in Strange Tales. He was in the 90s Iron Man cartoon and toyline. We have a retro Iron Man legends wave this year.Plus, it's also the year of the dragon. I would say there's a lot of synergy with the idea that he could(and should) be the Haslab this year.

WallySparks 06-21-2024 04:08 AM

Isn't it way too soon for Hasbro to even make a Hellverine Wolverine figure since a new Hellverine comic just started at issue 1 recently?

couldn't they have waited til like next year for the Hellverine figure or something?

Two years ago, I would have been all over this wave in excitement. However, a lot has changed, I am now unemployed, prices are higher, and I'm running out of space. As such, I have to be extremely picky on what I buy, and 99% of that is reserved for Spider-Man or Claremont era X-Men characters.

I think it's a fun wave, I feel like there'd be more hype if the Engine of Vengeance had succeeded, since this wave is clearly meant to be a companion to that like the Tri-Sentinel wave was meant to be hitting as the Sentinel Haslab shipped. I do wonder which character Hellstrom replaced. He was a stretch goal when this wave being planned so there must have been a different character planned for the wave. Anyhow, the only figure I passed on was Weapon of Vengeance. I've been wanting Lilith for awhile, and Bloodstorm hits 2 points of Nostalgia for me. I didn't necessarily need Hellstrom or Dracula, and upgrading Voodoo and Moon Knight are just a bonus

I'm in reverse, the only one I ordered was Weapon of Vengeance, because he goes with the Johnny Blaze with bike and (coming soon) Danny Ketch with bike that I have. However, now I'm double sour that we'll never get a Robbie Reyes with Engine of Vengeance. I didn't back it back then either, because there's just no way that was worth $350. However, if GIJoe can make the VAMP for $100, I'd be more than willing to pay $200 for the Engine of Vengeance without all the light and sounds. (factor in the Marvel tax and the extra pieces to transform the car to street mode). I know they'll never do that, but I can dream.

It's hard to say what percentage of price goes to licensing. I do feel like trying to Haslab vehicles for this line isn't the greatest idea, unlike Classified where vehicles are a big part of the overall line, vehicles aren't integral to Legends

redfox 06-22-2024 03:43 PM

With SDCC around the corner, I wanted to update my Top 10 list a bit. Hasbro's really done a number on my previous one in the last year. Gonna break my list into two parts: 5 new characters & 5 updates/redo's.

1) Titania
2) Volcana
3) Deathbird
4) Diamondback
5) Morgan Le Fay
/
6) Classic Valkyrie
7) Hela
8) Shanna the She-devil
9) Moonstone (Dark Avengers)
10) Daken (Dark Avengers)

WallySparks 06-22-2024 08:14 PM

I know its been awhile since Hasbro made some Avengers Endgame action figure for Marvel Legends but did they ever make any figures of Avengers ENdgame characters where they have the quantum time suits? I only know of the Marvel legends captain America wearing the quantum time suit and whatever suit the Hulk is wearing along with his hulk sized infinity stones gauntlet

En Sabah Nerd 06-22-2024 08:48 PM

There was a Target exclusive two pack that was sold as Black Widow and Hawkeye in the quantum suits but it came with alt heads to represent Nebula, Ant-Man, and Iron Man.

Great list! in particular Morgan Le Fay doesn't get enough vocal support, but I still have hope that one day she will get made.

My top 10 wants as it stands right now:
Graviton
Exodus
Mandarin (practically any outfit, even the business suit would be fine)
Morgan Le Fay
Meteorite (Thunderbolts Moonstone)
Atlas
Wizard
Psylocke (Australian Outback)
Crimson Cowl
Banshee (GSXM classic outfit)

Honorable mentions, Marrow, Attuma, Maximus The Mad, Deathbird, modern Madrox

With 10 not done before characters and 5 alternate outfits/redos/identities, it's a fairly hard line for what I would absolutely buy without question right now, but I think that line is somewhere just after these 15 figures.

Veronica Mars 06-23-2024 03:07 PM

I definitely want the Outback armored Psylocke, but I would also like either her Mystery in Madripoor costume or her Captain Britain costume, then the Jim Lee costume can represent Kwannon. I'd also like the pink puffy sleeved costume from the Mutant Massacre.

So maybe a 3 pack, Outback Storm, Psylocke and Colossus and a Captain Britain (Betsy) & Psylocke (Kwannon) 2 pack.

On another note I've heard some theories that they're dragging their feet on completing Excalibur because there's not any reuse for tooling on Rachel's hound costume, which got me thinking, what reuse is there for Spiral? I know there was a gold/orange variation of her costume (possibly a coloring error) and she has the black and silver X-Force costume, but are there any other 6 armed female characters that would reuse that tool? Also Angela, does reusing her arms and legs for boxset Sif really make up for the cost of the tooling? At this point it's obsolete with everything going pinless

I really wish other people would stop asking for the Kwannon Asian psylocke. I get tired of that.

I and other fans of the true Elizabeth Braddock we want a proper Marvel Legends of regular pink/purple haired British Betsy Braddock in her funky fashion model outfit that she wore when she was with the X-Men

I want the Psylocke Blue Marvel pictured from Fall of the Mutants.

We have enough Asian Psylockes.

I want that Colossus now. My favorite suit.

I hope the upcoming figure from DP/Wolerine is pinless. After collecting Classified it's very very hard for me to get excited about pinned ML figures. They occasionally use an older pinned body in GIJC and it irritates the fire out of me.

Hulkwummy 06-24-2024 11:37 AM

Wasn't there supposed to be a Marvel Legends announcement this week?

StuartGreen2019 06-24-2024 11:54 AM

@Hulkwummy - It's Odin going up for pre-order. Dan Yun confirmed it on Twitter. As great as he looks, I won't be buying him. Money's unbelievably tight right now and I have other characters that I'm saving up for that I need, and want, a lot more than Odin.

That's awesome! When I was posting the Odin news, it was in regards to Mr. Yun's post on Twitter the other day about Odin going up for pre-order. I was unaware of today's post until now. It's nice to hear that we'll be getting more news this week.

Hulkwummy 06-24-2024 01:07 PM

Judging by the picture of Blackheart with his arms in the air, do you think it could be Mephisto?

What Odin news?

StuartGreen2019 06-24-2024 01:27 PM

@Dr Kain - The Odin figure goes up for pre-order this week. There's also more Marvel Legends news this week too.

@Hulkwummy - I couldn't even begin to guess if it's Mephisto or not. Time, and Hasbro, will tell...
