The Iron Fist/Luke Cage 2 pack is underrated and definitely in my Top Ten of the year so far…Not much in the accessories department, but the figures are worth it…

Seeing the side-by-side photos shows me just how overpriced and underwhelming the Rogue and Destiny two-pack truly is. The Rogue/Destiny two-pack is $50 with the big draw of "four extra hands!", no alternate heads, no accessories, and a ton of empty plastic space. The Luke Cage/Iron Fist two-pack is $50 with an alternate head for each hero, eight alternate hands and two energy effects for Iron Fist, and two alternate hands for Luke Cage. Couldn't they have at least given us a Mystique instead of Rogue that had a ton of alternate heads, extra hands, and a gun or two to justify the price and excite fans? At least include alternate bare hands for Rogue and an alternate head for Rogue AND for Destiny.

Because we have to modify the costume to sell a new figure of Sam Wilson's Cap, that's why! Superhero suits ALWAYS change from film to film -- even when they shouldn't. I just hope the rumors are true that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will wear the "final swing" suit from the finale of 'No Way Home' for the entirety of his fourth film, but I am not holding my breath on that.

What I want to know is, how many new reveals are we going to get for more Marvel Legends content when SDCC gets here? This year feels weirdly quiet to me for some reason. Sure, we've got the 'Deadpool & Wolverine' wave and the Retro "Secret Wars" wave to look forward to, but where are the X-Men figures? Where are the other two "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" VHS boxed set two-packs? Where's the second Spider-Man wave for this year? Where are the Avengers? Are we getting any M.C.U. or Disney Plus Marvel series reveals? I know we have other cons after SDCC for reveals, but I'm really curious as to what's going on with Hasbro lately. We're getting a lot more re-releases of old figures and not enough news on new ones and new waves.

I felt the same way following the reveal and agree that we likely won’t get another shot. Truth be told, the collar isn’t exactly accurate either, but I’m still happy with what they’ve delivered and looking forward to the set.

I just wish theyd have put powerman in his blue pants and puffy pirate shirt and tiara.

I take this to mean next week's preorder is Phoenix

I forget, who is she exclusive to? Because she's not going to be on Amazon, right?

They haven't said she's an exclusive, unless that changes she should be on Amazon, Pulse, GameStop, EE, and BBTS

I'm pretty much wondering the same thing too. I guess at this point aside from a long shot reveal of Gravitron and Mandarin (since they're my #1 wanted new character and redone character), and more OG Thunderbolts I'm mainly hoping to see more X-Men reveals and Fantastic Four reveals.

I hope we get some kind of tease for the X-wave that will presumably be the first half of next year and I hope it's not animated series related. Not counting on Australian Outback Psylocke this close to the Lady Mandarin Psylocke, but X-Factor Jean to go along with X-Factor Cyclops would be nice. GSXM Banshee too, which I think is at least rumored and seems the most likely reveal. Exodus of course for me. Obligatory Wolverine of course. Synch would also be great too especially after his time in the Krakoan Era, though I realize he would be in Gen X uniform most likely.

Also more AOA figures since it'll then be the 30th anniversary for the story. One last wave to get us some Horsemen, Storm, Quicksilver, Nightcrawler and Mystique and Dead Man Wade.

Fantastic Four movie figures may be a ways out, but let's get Crystal and Wizard done Hasbro. Attuma would be really swell as well.

Finally a small hope for some of my very few Spider Man related wants..Calypso, Stegron and Squid. But none of those are too high of a priority.

Veronica Mars 07-13-2024 11:01 AM

There's been rumors of a Secret Wars anniversary.... something, and at the end ofcthe original Secret Wars is when She-Hulk joined the F4, could we see the redeco'd Jen?

Captain Nash 07-13-2024 11:26 AM

I realize some of the past She Hulks haven't been that great, but getting a 5th or 6th or 7th She Hulk before 1 Crystal is baffling.

Right? I'm still shocked we haven't seen comic versions of Nebula and Mantis. If they do more retro card F4 waves Crystal has to be included, probably her classic yellow costume, which leaves us waiting for her b&w Avengers look. Then again I figured we'd see Sersi's green bathing suit way before the red and black, so who knows

Frankly I'm shocked at how little comic figures we've gotten of the core team since the EE team pack. No Gamora, no Groot, no Rocket, and the only Star-Lord was a pre-Guardians Walmart exclusive. We did get Drax in his classic duds packed with Moondragon but even then that's more of his classic cosmic theme and not really Guardians relevant unless you're being hyper-specific to Thanos Imperative. But I am also definitely still rooting for Mantis, Phyla, Cosmo, and Bug.

Crystal in her classic yellow with Lockjaw as a deluxe set (ala MODOK or Mojo) has been put on top of my wants list since anything that was above them has been done by now.

Yeah. Throw in classic Adam Warlock, Gamora, Pip and Maxim. I want to finish Infinity Watch

StuartGreen2019 07-13-2024 09:07 PM

Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax and yellow suit Crystal all would be cool. I'm hoping for more comic-based Fantastic Four figures like Mole Man, Wizard, Trapster, Annihilus and Terrax. A two-pack for Puppet Master and Alicia Masters would be great. I'm also hoping for some more '90s costumes for heroes and villains, like white Armani suit Doc Ock, brown jumpsuit Merged/Professor Hulk, Invisible Woman in her opera gloves outfit (not the two-piece version, the one after), F.F. jumpsuit Thing, Generation X suit Jubilee, and the 1999 "Spider-Man Unlimited" suit Spider-Man.

Also, going off what Nash said, I want to see all of the classic X-Factor team, including a redone Cyclops. The sloppy paint application and head sculpts made me pass on him. As for Spider-Man figures, I have quite a few left I want to see remade and/or made: Chameleon, Vulture, a sold-separately green-and-orange suit Doc Ock, Sandman (classic, armored, Wild Pack green-and-yellow suit -- all would be fine by me), Lizard (that we can actually FIND this time, please, Hasbro), Electro, Mysterio with a Quentin Beck alternate head, a John Romita Sr. Green Goblin, a John Romita Jr. Hobgoblin, armored Rhino, purple-and-blue suit Boomerang, classic Black Cat, Stunner, Kaine, Lady Octopus, first appearance Mary Jane and a John Romita Sr. art based Spider-Man. I'm also hoping for a Scott Leva suit Spider-Man (see the cover of "The Amazing Spider-Man", vol. 1, #262 for what I mean). I'm really surprised we haven't gotten a new Chameleon figure already.

As for Secret Wars, I want pretty much everybody. But if I see a new Captain America, Thor, Jim Rhodes Iron Man, Wolverine, Doctor Doom, Doc Ock, Titania, Absorbing Man, Hulk, Colossus, Cyclops, Wasp, Lizard and/or any version of Spider-Man, I won't care about the price -- I WILL find a way to make sure I get them all pre-ordered. As I've said before, though, I'm expecting Doc Ock to be skipped and sold later as a Deluxe and for Magneto or classic Doctor Doom to likely be skipped due to their recent figures. But I certainly wouldn't object if Falcon, Daredevil, Electro, Hobgoblin or Constrictor are any of the characters to take their place.

Anyway, thanks for reading my nonsense. I hope you all are having a great weekend and stay safe, True Believers.

Could this year's Amazon 5 pack be Secret Wars themed?

Captain Nash 07-14-2024 08:01 AM

Oh yes, I keep forgetting about the Secret Wars stuff. Probably because I'd only be interested in Titania, but yeah that'll probably be a good chunk of what we'll see.

ThorOdinson123 07-14-2024 09:48 AM

FYI Amazon Prime day is Tuesday and Wednesday of this week so keep an eye out for legends deals.

Veronica Mars 07-14-2024 12:06 PM

Just when you thought the scalpers and scummy part of the collecting community couldn't get lower. Warbird is showing up in stores and on Popfindr now. Some Targets haven't put her on shelves yet, she's street dated and register locked. The ones that have put her out, have people going through the self check and double scanning a different figure to bypass the street date. There's already someone on Mercari selling one in hand for $85. So good luck out there and may the odds be ever in your favor

If it is, that'd be fine with me. There are a ton of characters in "Secret Wars" for Hasbro to make and it could really be anybody's guess at this point. I think it'd be a great way to get the Wrecking Crew with another hero or villain. Heck, they could even have the entire second wave of Mattel's "Secret Wars" figures if they wanted and release Baron Zemo, Daredevil, Falcon, Hobgoblin and black costume Spider-Man. It could even be an X-Men set by giving fans Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Professor X and Colossus. I only left off Nightcrawler and Rogue as likely candidates of the boxed set due to their new figures for 2024, but I wouldn't mind seeing them re-released either. Nightcrawler needs an alternate smiling head and Rogue needs a new, better, more youthful head sculpt. After all, she was 17 when she joined the X-Men.

Personally, though, I'm hoping for some two-packs as well for 2024 and hopefully into 2025. They could do Captain America with Doctor Doom, Iron Man with Kang, Spider-Man with Doctor Octopus and Wolverine with Magneto and I'd pick them all up. Or maybe they could make two-packs like black costume Spider-Man with Spider-Woman, Klaw with the Lizard, Thor with Enchantress, etc. I'm also hoping for larger/taller characters to get released as Deluxe figures or in two-packs, such as the Hulk, the Absorbing Man, Titania and She-Hulk. Also, if and when we get a new Captain America figure, am I alone on wanting Hasbro to bring back the straps for the inside of the shield instead of clipping the shield onto his arm for the umpteenth time?

Ugh, nice to know we're off to a great start already. I'm just hoping they've fixed the distribution of these Target exclusives because the Black Widow release was ridiculously botched. None of the stores in a two hour radius of mine received figures, while other stores posted online had endcaps full on clearance.

It looks like she's shipping in cases of 6 btw

Right? Before Popfindr went down on Friday it showed 2 stores had Warbird, one about 20 miles out and one 12 miles out, I went the closer one and there was nothing on the shelves. I talked to the girl working in electronics and she used her handheld to check and told me it was street dated for next Sunday, so I'm going to go back when they open. However, for stores that put them out early, if they have people scanning other figures, the inventory checkers are going to be off, so even if more stores start to show her in stock, there's no guarantee she'll actually be there

Harbinger 07-14-2024 03:21 PM

Toys shouldnt be street dated. If a store puts shit out early oh well. Maybe train your employees better.

Ive worked retail plenty of times, im retired now. The only things that should be streeted are movie spoiler toys. Otherwise toys shouldnt be street dated. And should be put out as soon as they come in.
